  • Why is upgrading everything is so tedious?

This game is a blast when you can actually play it. I love the new enemies that show up as you progress. The levels are fun and look great. The arcade modes are a fun addition. I love that you can upgrade your jetpack, inventions, and vehicles.

My biggest frustration is that all the animations and screen taps you have to do for the upgrades. It’s excessive.

Spend tokens? Three screen taps (in different places). So if I have 10 tokens I have to tap the screen 30 times (you get tokens a lot). Upgrade inventions or vehicle? Bright white screen flash then an animation individually updates 3 stats (and you do upgrades a lot). Redeem missions? Tap the screen 3 times to cycle through rewards. More clicking to redeem stuff in the factor (imo the whole factory portion could have been left out. It doesn’t really add any value). Basically everything in the game is like this. Why? So much time is spent tapping the screen and waiting for animations to play through. All of this distracts so much from actually playing the main game and arcade modes. It honestly becomes a chore and keeps me from wanting to play more.

When upgrading the jetpack it’s a single click and it’s instantly done. No long animation. All of the upgrades should be like this.

I’m really surprised there’s no endless mode as that’s the original point to the game.

  • Great game, but not tested on Apple TV?

I've really been enjoying the game on my phone, but the user experience for this game on the Apple TV is shockingly bad, but a few small changes would fix it right up:

    - Please let me use the up down left right buttons on the siri remote. Scrolling around generally is very difficult, so being sure about what I am inputting would help.
    - It's very hard to press the skip all button when using a token.
    - The factory is extremely frustrating to use, when there are coins for example, it's very difficult to select the coins instead of the coin factory. Only let me select the coins first! Even better, highlight the coins to collect them by default.
    - When I go to upgrade something, please highlight the upgrade button instead of the close button by default.
    - Upgrading the jetpack is extremely difficult. First you have to scroll down and it selects the cores instead of the health upgrade, then you have to scroll back up to select health, or scroll across and then up to get the attack upgrade, but often it will just highlight the back button again instead.
    - On the powerup screen it can be quite difficult to see what you're selected on. Please highlight the weapons with a bit more contrast. After I upgrade a weapon, select the weapons by default, not the back button (except if I don't have enough coins to upgrade another one?).

  • Half baked game from HalfBrick

The graphics are amazing and the new additions to the game are really fun, but there is little content to play through.

This game is story based, but there is only 3 chapters and after a few days they were all completed. There are also a few arcade games but not much, and they didn’t even include an endless run mode which is absurd considering the first game was only an endless run game

There is also 3 vehicles and a handful of jetpacks and outfits, most of which are locked behind a daily reward system.

All-in-all it will provide some fun a few days but you will quickly loose interest doing the same few levels over and over again

  • No endless mode??

I’ve played Jetpack Joyride on and off since it first came out. It was endlessly replayable because there were so many costumes and jet packs to collect, and you were always chasing a higher score.

I was super excited for Jetpack Joyride 2. I like all the new features, which other reviews have enumerated quite well, but I was disappointed that the story mode was so short. It only took me a day to beat the whole game. I’ve already leveled all of the rooms of my factory to the max, and all there is to do now is play arcade to level my badges and replay the last level over and over. What the heck? The fact that there’s no endless runner mode seems like a huge miss on Halfbrick’s part. They could have even made it so once you beat story mode, you can replay it on higher difficulty, like they did with Colossatron.

I feel like the game they released is only a preview, rather than a full game. They had to know that people would blaze through the story mode quickly.

I guess I’ll just go back to Jetpack Joyride until Halfbrick gives us more content.

  • Outstanding sequel!! Highly recommended!!

This game is awesome!! It’s a worthy successor to the original game, which I still have on my iPad. The difficulty is to the point where it doesn’t get so frustrating. Unlocking things doesn’t take too much effort, and most of all, NO ads or IAP’s. Unlike the original game, it’s not endless. You go up to a certain distance. I like the fact that you can now fight a boss, which isn’t too difficult and the added Arcade Mode. This game has all the features which made the original game great, and it shows here. You can just pick up and play to your heart’s content.

  • No complaints

UPDATE: finished the game so far.

THE BG MUSIC FOR THE ARCTIC LEVELS IS A BANGER! I legit want to download it to play in the car. Use headphones with bass to hear the full glory of the song.

Definitely keeps things interesting and makes it fair and easy to upgrade and progress… but some minor and unobtrusive bugs like switching characters between Steve and Betty randomly for some dialogue bits. Overall well done. Wish there was a “claim all” or “skip all” button for more than 3 tokens, as well as mission tracking so you know how close you are to knocking over 180 scientists.

  • Good Premise but a sensory nightmare to play

I enjoy the premise of this game but there’s absolutely too much going on on the screen at the same time. I absolutely would not recommend this game to anyone who has issues with sensory sensitivity, overload or overstimulation. I have never had a problem with any of these while playing a game, but this one left me with sore eyes and a headache after 10 minutes. The general visual noise is bad enough, with there being a thousand separate parts spinning around the place at any given time, but the worst is the creators seem to think that having the whole screen flash bright white is a great idea.

There isn’t even a beak in between games when you’re just in the menu screens either so it’s just non stop. I really wish there were a way to turn down the intensity a bit. Cut out some of the extra flashing and some of the more irritating noises. Or at the very least reduce the flashing but there’s absolutely nothing.

  • Truly an amazing game

I really really like this game I have never played the original before this, have always just seen it but never seemed fun to me then I saw this and it looked different. The graphics and gameplay is incredible but if you like the pixelated screen like the OG then this isn’t for you. As far as I know the OG is a endless run and this one has levels which I like. Again this game is a sequel with updated graphics and things like that so if you’re more into the OG look and style of that game then this game might not be the same for you but to me this is the easily in the top 3 Apple Arcade games

  • Very enjoyable can’t wait for the updates

I overall really enjoyed the game. I remember playing the first one all the time when I was younger and this one has some really promising features, I can see where they can expand with more jet packs and skins for your character as well as adding more levels but I found it very enjoyable trying to get everything.I’m sure all my grievances with the game with be resolved in a future updates. I do wish there was a way to have like a “free play” sort of mode where your not in your dungeons crawl challenge and you are just able to try and achieve the highest score possible like in the first game.

  • Needs more content

The game is great and a definite improvement on the original, but I’ve already completed all the levels. Please provide more content asap.
