  • 💯 Awesome 🌮

This game is awesome!!! Probably the best game I can get on my phone. From beginning to the end it kept me interested and excited to see what was next. I will definitely be watching the App Store for the next part!🎉😆

Thanks for playing my game! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it so much. I'm working hard on the sequel; Dexter Stardust: Returns to Outer Space and another game in the same universe called "The Abandoned Planet", which comes out soon! Keep an eye out for it. - Jeremy
  • Some rough voice acting and some wonky animation

Aurora’s voice actress sounds quite inexperienced compared to the rest of the cast. If Spanish actresses were in limited supply, maybe don’t be so set on Aurora having an accent? Besides that, the voice acting is pretty great.

Also, it’s hard to deny that the game is a bit cheesy. Almost like a sitcom at times. (Not sure if it’s in a self aware way or not)

And lastly, some of Dexter’s animations are a bit wonky. Like - no matter what action you do with an object, Dexter always does the exact same hand gesture of him reaching out and grabbing. It just looks a bit silly a lot of the time. Whereas him not preforming an animation would’ve been fine.

Besides those nitpicks, the puzzles, character design, backgrounds, music and core gameplay are all pretty good so far. I still need to finish the game and I’m looking forward to it 👍🏻

Marc, thanks for playing my game. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it overall! To be honest, I think the lines I wrote for Aurora's character were just difficult to say ;) But I appreciate the feedback. About the animations; that's a classic trope of adventure games, in which there is a standard pick-up or use animation for interacting with objects. Since it's just me creating every single aspect of the game, creating unique animations for every item pick-up and puzzle would make the game take another 5 years to create! Haha. Anyways, I appreciate you playing. Thanks again! - Jeremy
  • Save slots

Only on episode 1 so far and the game itself is really good. I love the humor and art style. But no timestamp on the save slots is extremely annoying, I always hate that and don't understand why devs don't include that. So basically the only way to remember which slot is most current is to physically write it down. Taking 2 stars off for that might be a bit harsh but it's one of my big pet peeves of adventure games, most games it's not an issue though and already have that feature.

Thanks for playing my game. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. At this time, there is a date stamp on each save file, but not a time stamp -- to the minute. This is good feedback. I'll see what I can do to add this to Dexter Stardust. Much appreciated! - Jeremy
  • Such a great game!

The story was awesome, and the gameplay was fun! Perfect combo! I only needed a walkthrough a few times, and every time it was because I had forgotten something I learned or saw from earlier in the game and it made me go “Doh! Oh yeah!”. Everything makes sense, there’s no wandering around aimlessly only to figure out that the solution you’re looking for is some random item or interaction that nobody would have ever thought of. If you have a good memory, you probably won’t need a walkthrough at all. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy! It’s a perfect amount of difficulty without being completely frustrating.
I just want to know WHEN the sequel will be here! I’m dying to get back into the story!!
Great job, developers. You nailed it!!

Thanks for you review. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed and were able to make it all the way through. When I was developing the game and bug-testing, sometimes I would have to look at the checklist to see what I had to do next lol. And yes; I'm working on a direct sequel Dexter Stardust: Returns to Outer Space (Q4 2024) and The Abandoned Planet (Q1 2024), which is another game in the same universe. Keep an eye out for both. - Jeremy
  • Truly a gem

This game it a fun game that plays perfectly on my iPhone 12. Great puzzles. I love the music and Latino flair. Great storyboards and room design. A lot of different locations. A true to form adventure game with fun and interesting characters. Can’t wait for the next chapter.

  • Excellent game!

I found this game to be very enjoyable! The way the story was written was flawless. Jeremy your imagination with the story, the characters, the voice actors, the sound/music and the graphics were very well done! (I don’t think I left anything out?) I WISH I had your imagination…If anyone out there is looking for a fun and well done “point and click” adventure game, then folks you will not be disappointed with this one. Who am I to judge? I played “Pong” when it first came out AND I have played almost every “point and click” for the past 50 plus years. Jeremy I look forward to playing your other games that will be coming out in the near future. And thank you “So much” for spending a little time to help me out with my gaming questions that I wrote you through email.
Best of the Best to you!

Thanks for playing! So happy to hear that you are enjoying Dexter Stardust. Yep! Working on two games actually; the direct sequel to this one and another that's in the same universe. :) - Jeremy
  • Best type of adventure game

I love this type of funny point and click adventure game! Had a few days worth of gameplay. Looking forward to the sequel. Perfect level of difficulty: I only needed to refer to a walkthrough once or twice. My only complaint was that there were a ton of typos/misspellings in the dialogue, and some of the voice acting was not good, although the voices of Dexter and Uncle Jedo were great.

Thanks for playing my game! I appreciate all your comments and I look forward to making my voice overs more consistent in my future games. As for the misspellings -- oh boy, there's basically more text in the game than a novel (50,000+ words), so, it was difficult to edit on my own. I appreciate that feedback though. Something to improve upon for sure! All the best - Jeremy
  • Simple puzzles, awful voice acting

The style is pleasant, looks like Futurama, and there is a lot of promise. The puzzles, however, are fairly simple. The worst part is the voice acting. Simply awful. Fortunately, you can mute the dialogue and resort to subtitles.

  • Great game with perfect difficulty curve

I often get frustrated with point and click puzzle games. I have a tendency to skip past small details in a scene and never come back to pick up the key item that gets me past a certain puzzle. However, with Dexter Stardust, this wasn’t a big issue. Episodes 1-3 and 5 were a breeze. Episode 4 was tough. One tip I have for new players is to turn on the director’s commentary if you are struggling. Not only is it great to hear the director himself explain the design choices behind scenes, but often he’s there to give just the right clue at the right time. The whole game took me 5 hours to complete, and I didn’t need to search up a walkthrough. One piece of feedback I have is adding a feature in which the player is notified if there is a key item they haven’t picked up in the room. I often miss a tiny piece of paper or small detail and it gives me 30 minutes of grief.

Thanks for playing! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it over. Good feedback -- on Nintendo Switch, Mac, PC, and Linux there is a physical button you can press to reveal any hotspots, but this isn't the case on mobile, since that function isn't mapped to a UI element. It's a great idea though and one I'll keep in mind. I appreciate you letting me know what can be improved! - Jeremy
