The New Update
I liked the concept of the older version better. 2.0 kinda disappointed me. You’re not able to click the individual spaces anymore to place a letter. You now have to go letter by letter which is honestly kind of annoying. I sorta like the new look but sometimes simple is better. It’s a game that doesn’t require a lot of fancy updates. This app is defiantly one I would recommend and probably my personal favorite out of all the “Wordle Wannabes” but don’t over complicate a simple game. Sorry for the 3 Star rating, still a great game, just want to be able to place my letters anywhere in the puzzle lol.Show lessJay_Long_Dong
It was great. Why change it?
I was loving this game and playing it obsessively. Wordle without tracking? Who wouldn’t love that? So I can’t say the changes are welcome. The new keyboard is so small. I feel like I have to use a pen. More upsetting, you are only allowed one round of play before the game changes to a crossword puzzle which is OK except there is no way back to the original game. It just keeps giving you more crosswords. I can live with the other changes but please, please let us choose to play multiple rounds of the original game.Show less$$$ Spent
Version 2.0 is horrible!
I updated today with version 2.0 and they’ve changed the whole interface! You can no longer tap a cell and add a letter in it. You have to add letters left to right no matter what. I can no longer add the letters I know are right where they go while I figure out the rest of the word. Also, your win streak is no longer displayed on the main screen. The letters on the keyboard are lower case. Why? Only capitals are used in the game. The submit button (which that word is in capitals on the keyboard but the surrounding letters are not) moved and now an empty space occupies that part of the keyboard. I program user-interfaces for a living and this update was a huge step backwards.Show lessSHouser77
Used to be great… update ruined it
I played this religiously before they updated it to try and “stand out” from Wordle….it’s absolutely unplayable now. Hard to read the words with how far they are spaced out, and you can just refresh for a new word at any time, completely erasing the challenge of keeping a long streak. I played a few rounds and deleted it, will be downloading a new app that was more similar to the version before the update. Also there’s a timer that seems completely useless, because there’s not one word a day…genuinely don’t know what the devs were smoking when they decided to fix a completely fine app in the first place.Show lessChicken McNugget is my Name
Why update?
The last update really killed this otherwise good app. It’s a total letdown because it was better in the former version by a mile. Adding a crossword game for no reason? Why? And changing the look/feel of the game - why? And eliminating the ability to move the ‘cursor’ around to enter a letter in any box you want (meaning you have to type the word completely and in ‘order’ and can’t simply stick the letters you know already into their spots and use that as help to consider your other letter options) - why?
Deleting this app now unless there’s a update fixing these issues in the next couple of days. Too bad.Show lessdgabbard
Dev attention:
Good game, one error I encountered, I guessed the word in 5 tries, next word option didnt appear for a few seconds I clicked a letter and clicked enter, and every time I clicked enter the streak counter went up until finally the next word window came up and the game crashed. Upon reloading the streak was increased from my actual streak. Had streak of two after this error streak of 8.
Also got a hint there may be more then one E in the word and the word had only one E, seems like an error.Show lessUpdate.this.game.
Pretty good with some desired enhancements
Love, love, love that no data is collected, no ads are shown, and you can play as often as you want! It can get a little frustrating when you guess a word with two of the same letters (I.e. “piece”) and one of the duplicates is green which causes the other to be blue even though the letter is only in the actual word once (I.e. “flake”). To fix this, it should either only use words with no duplicate letters or use a different color to indicate that a guessed letter (in either the correct or incorrect spot) appears twice.Show lessA.D.D.2134
Best Choice from All the Apps
This game is great. I’ve tried several app versions that are just like the original non-app Wordle. I deleted all but this one. This is the only game that lets you place correct letters where they belong and then go back to other spots and test out letters. All other versions make you repeatedly start spelling from the beginning over and over. And you can erase individual letter that you want to replace without having to clear the whole line. These features are even better than the original web browser game. Plus you can play more than one word a day if you want. (But I still play the online Wordle once a day!)Show lessWhatagig
Often has quite unusual words
Even with the common words option I’m getting a lot of very uncommon words. Words like “exult” , “ashen” , etc. It’s not that they’re words I’ve never heard of necessarily, but words I’ve never used or seen anyone use. For a “common words” dictionary, it has a lot of uncommon words. The app also glitches a fair amount so the record keeping factor means nothing. It will freeze and let me submit my answer over and over to bring my streak up to 70 words on just one word. Or it will randomly crash and lose my data. Wonderful, if a bit glitchy
Loving the game so far, but in the 30 minutes I have been playing I have had the same glitch 3 times: after correctly guessing the word, the game will sometimes refuse to move on to the next puzzle. The only button that works is the “enter” button, and repeatedly clicking this button will make the screen progress to the next puzzle, but it will also raise my win streak counter every time I click it.
I see that the developers read and respond to their reviews, so maybe this is something that will be fixed!!Show lessCaitlyn Ashley
