Simple, Practical and Easy

I’ve never understood all the negative reviews - after flying with Bonza several times, I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences. The app offers a unique but easily accessible way to book flights. I do find at times it might be tedious to check date by date to find the cheapest option however, don’t mind putting in the extra effort knowing this is a budget airline (with an amazing feel for quality)!

Will NEVER fly Bonza again!

Absolutely disgusted with Bonza. We were on our way to the airport in Melbourne to return our rental car, after attending a funeral, when our flight was suddenly cancelled. Only a few hours notice was given and no refund nor return flight offered, no accommodation nor alternatives offered either. It took 1 month (far longer than the 21 days promised), to get our money back and we had to book with another airline to get home to Rockhampton, which left us $1800 out of pocket. Will NEVER fly Bonza again!!! Or use the app. Haven’t even received an apology for their disgraceful service. App doesn’t even help provide you with a phone number for customer service.

Update won’t install

The app keeps telling me there’s an update and would I like to install it. I tick yes and nothing happens. If you don’t install the update, it appears it won’t let you see the new flight dates now available. This continued to occur even after I deleted the app and reinstalled - you would expect it would install the latest version of the app with the update… Also don’t like having to put all my booking information in just to see what the flight cost is. Then it says every nickname under the sun is taken when you try to send a review!

Changing flight a nightmare

It is impossible to change a flight. There is no way to contact them for support unless it’s through the app chat service. Tried several times change my flight date came up every time I got to proceed to payment as an error and to contact support. I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to contact support. Waiting 2-4 hours for them to reply for each message I’ve sent. I get no notification or time to reply then they kick you out of the chat. I have uninstalled and delayed app and reinstalled many times. Signed in and out many times. Still can’t change flight. Awful experience and super difficult to change flight. The app makes it so much harder than it needs to be.

Not promising

Tried to book a flight and kept telling me that an error occurred as I went to pay. Used the chat function- a 40min wait for a chat reply with no time estimates or option for a follow up email isn’t really up to par. More staff may need to be added to the roster if you are flooded with requests or if requests are particularly complicated as I assume they were today as I was apparently 2nd in line. Didn’t want to raise this in the chat as I don’t want to be flagged as a red or difficult customer when I’m already unsure if my flight will go ahead with a number of friends having flights cancelled and appropriate compensation not provided.

Flights cancelled again less than 24 hrs notice

What an awful airline. No one to speak to and they call themselves champions. What a joke!!
Do not fly with Bonza if you want to pay your rent or mortgage. Cannot review them any other way. I’ve never in my life got travel insurance on a domestic flight and never had any issues. This holiday with my kids has now cost me my rent money to be able to get home. They don’t care at all about people as they would’ve known earlier. Once they cancel last minute they other airlines take advantage of it and it costs $$$$$$ . You’re a disgrace Bonza.

Good experience but need to sort out the app

Awesome selection of regional routes at absurdly low prices. Booking initially was incredibly easy and quick.

I realised I’m an idiot immediately after booking and had put the wrong dates, messaged the chat support, then got a call back to sort it. About 10minutes at no cost, much better service than any other airline I’ve dealt with.

Checkin and boarding no worries, staff were exceptionally helpful and lovely all around (and didn’t seem quite as stressed and understaffed as most other airlines).

The plane was nice and modern looking, had comfortable adjustable headrests and the seats seemed to have a tiny bit more leg room than on your standard airbus so could stretch out comfortably, though really tall people were still cramped looking.

The only issue I had was with the app itself. When trying to checkin for the return leg of the flight, you couldn’t just click on the flight, had to type in the booking reference, checkin, then type in the number again to get the boarding pass. Pretty simple functionality they need to sort out. Also it crashed a couple of times while doing these things, and often asked if I wanted to update it when no updates were available.

An absolute nightmare

Easy to book a flight but near impossible to change it. App won’t let you rectify the dates online so you then have to contact customer support. Customer support won’t change it in the app because they need somebody to call you back. (Privacy reasons, even though you have to give them all that info at the start of the chat)
Timeframe for that call back is 2 to 3 days and the flight leaves tomorrow.
Customer service can only be contacted through the app. They are ineffective and borderline useless. You cannot call them. They will just run you around in hoops and get you nowhere. I gave up after being messed around for nearly 2 hours. I got Mylene. Disinterested and not helpful.
After using the app, I absolutely won’t be back to Bonza until the app has had a complete overhaul. Gathering that others who have left reviews a year ago have had the same problems, I won’t hold my breath for an improvement.
Save yourself the heartache and use Jetstar or Virgin.

This app is just frustrating !! Even with updates 😭😩

This app is very frustrating. I’ve been trying to change my flight, put in all the details of changed flight then it prompts me saying contact our customer service. So I have three times. Mind you the customer service representatives are awesome, but this app lets your great company down. It shuts down, freezes, goes blank, goes back to the start, blocks me out for 30 minutes and then rinse and repeat… arrghhh 😫. and then when I delete and re download and update it still keeps doing it. I know you have teething problems with a new app but this is beyond a joke.

Not able to see flight costs without making a booking

Why do you have to proceed through the booking steps adding all your passenger details, when you simply want to know the total price for a trip? That is unnecessary, annoying and time-consuming. As you website does not show pricing options you have to “book” on the app to find out the cost. I’ve found in the past on other airlines that there are always hidden extras (like paying for your seat selection) so as I’m searching up possibilities I would appreciate the option to see the total cost for a flight BEFORE going through the booking proceedure please.
