  • NOT an Earth City Builder

As the title says, this game is incredible because of the fact that building a colony on another planet requires you to be strategic in planning. Oxygen and other vital resources are needed for immediate survival, and that’s the allure of this city builder! Plus, accidents in building colonies won’t be a possibly, but an absolute fact of life, losing half your city cause a vital junction became decompressed because someone was doing something stupid sounds like something that will most likely happen if we ever start building colonies with lots of people. Please make more content! Love it all!

  • Honestly, has some notable cons, but it’s good.

Ok, so I just downloaded the game and off the start I realized: I have literally NO RESOURCES. You also only start off with 20 of the electric ball looking things and you need those for a lot of things. The resource production is very slow, the rovers are slow, the rockets are slow, everything is slow. On the bright side though, good game, and realistic graphics and concepts. Could be better, but overall pretty great. Keep in mind, I’m sending this review as a new player so there could be more cool things that happen along the way. If you download this game, just expect a difficult time after the tutorial.

  • Soft-lock Still Persists

It’s been a while, and this bug isn’t fixed, so I’m editing my review to suggest a few solutions.

When a player resets their progress, they are forced back into the tutorial. However, the tutorial becomes bugged when the rocket you request lands on the launchpad - the tutorial asks you to build another command center after this point. However, you cannot build a second command center, and since no part of the tutorial can be skipped, the player gets stuck at this stage, unable to perform any actions.

The first solution would be to fix the tutorial or have it detect if the tutorial has looped in a way that would bug the player. If the game detects that it has asked the player to do something impossible, it should skip that section or end the tutorial.

Secondly, the tutorial could have a button that forcefully overrides the current step. This would allow the player themselves to bypass any soft-lock imposed by the broken tutorial.

The third solution would be to just fix how the tutorial works when the game is restarted. The tutorial should either not show up or be fixed so that it always shows up in the correct order. This way, the entirety of this problem is negated because the problem ceases to exist.

This is a good game with a lot of potential, but if the players are unable to even complete the tutorial due to a bug, it’s essentially dead in the water.

  • Game is beyond broken.

I am a huge fan of the original game, but this game barely functions. You start working through the tutorial and building your first structures, and then it asks you to give your first speech. Then you’re stuck in a loop to build a command center, to which you’ve already built, and cannot access any other menu. It seems to be an issue if you try to access your colony from another device on Game Center. I also don’t think NASA has lost 40 people in its 50+ years of being in operation, and not 40 in one day of playing this game. It has potential, but there are some serious glitches that need fixed to get it there.

  • Not what you think.

If you love city or civilization building games, this isn’t for you. This is a crisis management game where you have no control over the management of the crisis. Water plant breaks down. Ok fix it. Nope too late, everyone is dying from thirst. So send a rocket back for more people. Nope now there aren’t enough settlers to run the oxygenator. So your replacements now instantly suffocate. Seems like it’s all or nothing. It’s not like water is getting low. It’s fine till everyone is dead. Sorry. Now you have to start over. I’m sure the developers will say they are trying to make it challenging, but they aren’t. It’s just sadistically unplayable.

  • One step forward, two steps back

Catastrophic failures one after another. As soon as you get anything done, an ‘event’ happens and completely sets you back. Workers dying, shuttles exploding, etc. have made this game a painfully drawn out and un-enjoyable game. Definitely not worth spending money on, needed SO much more trialling before it was released. Has potential but not a game I am going to continue playing. Might try again in a year or two and hopefully they put in some work instead of just putting out a half game for a cash grab

  • Amazing

Honestly I’m so glad you guys expanded further with this type of game play. I remember first playing terraGenesis and of course there was a lot of stuff that needed to be fixed but it did and it’s an amazing game. I know for sure this one will be as well and I hope sometime in the future your team will make this into a whole game for consoles and pc. This has a lot of potential and I hope it will exceed my expectations. Great work :)

  • Need to make some changes

Let me start by saying that it’s a good game. I do have a bit of advice. You will use your brain to build in this game. You really have to plan out what you are going to do and the placement of the building’s. It’s like it would be in real life if on Mars. However I have PROS and CONS. PROS: You can make the layout any way you wish. You can choose what you wish to research as long as you meet the requirements for it. You can get the credits and the GP by watching the ads but you don’t have the obligation to watch them. The tutorial is helpful but as part of the CONS it’s a little redundant. Making you do it again when you start a new game. CONS: One major CON is the AI. The events in which you have your settlers start falling and you can’t replace quickly enough. Some of the building cost is high at first and you don’t have enough time to get resources before the “ disgruntled employees” event hits. Not enough tutorial for how to make your settlers happy. IMPROVEMENTS: Should be able to have closer first mining sites for the rovers. Have more ways to make in-game currency. Another words be able to sell your resources if need be. Have the ability to turn off the tutorial if you have already done it. Have the tutorial help you until you place the Trade Hub. Fix the AI on the randomness of the employees getting hart. Have the ability to help the injured employees with an infirmary. Other than the PROS and CONS and improvements. The game overall is good.

  • Unique but difficult

This is a great game - unique, compelling, challenging. What it would benefit from though is more clear instructions on play. After the very short tutorial you’re left to your own devices so it can take a long time to figure out how things work.

What’s more important though is that disasters are far too common. As a brand new player you can have a major disaster on your hands in minutes with no real explanation of how to deal with it. After an hour or so my whole colony ran out of oxygen and died after something broke, leading to a very slow rebuild. When the only way to get new inhabitants is an expensive rocket from earth, this is pretty frustrating. The game would benefit from adjustable difficulty settings and a more reliable method of getting in-game currency to make things like this less of a big deal.

Overall looking forward to mastering this but I hope the inherent frustrations don’t push me away first.

  • Great game!

This game is really fun and I have spent hours of my days on this just staring and waiting to be able to strategically keep my colony running and advance it. It’s a really challenging game to play and the slightest mistake could ruin the entire thing for you. (It almost happened to me a couple of times) I really hate the people in this game that say it’s unplayable because it isn’t if you can keep it running from the start. All you devs out there need to do to perfect this game is have an option to restart the colony. And another thing. If you want to get real revenue from ads make sure the game doesn’t crash when you play an ad. Just a tip. But overall I love this game with all my heart and soul and I would even like to see future updates! Consider me a long term fan!
