  • Exceptional product with MAJOR flaw

CoinSnap is by far the most brilliant product as far as scanning the coin and those images being saved with the coin data. The fact that the scans are used to grade the coin is even greater.

HOWEVER…. ALL the time and effort that I put into this project to try and document my now deceased fathers coin collection only to find that there is absolutely NO WAY to PRINT/list the data is a painfully frustrating issue. Why would such a brilliant product not have any way to print or export the data. Then the help suggested that I create a spreadsheet and copy/paste all the information one by one….I was so thrilled and now greatly let down. This definitely one of the biggest product improvements you could make.

  • Makes me want to learn more

So I downloaded this app because I have a lot of change. So far I’m really digging learning about the different things that make any certain kind of coin worth more then what it is. The different mint marks, not having a mint mark, and the ones that are missed stamped. I wasn’t ever interested in collecting coins, but I’m more interested in if know, cause the why is pretty interesting to find out. Especially if you find out your quarter that’s been sitting in a jar is worth 115 dollars because of an off center strike. Pretty cool

  • Actually impressed

I am a coin dealer who has been involved in the hobby for 13 years. I saw the clickbait ads showing pocket change coins being valued at $5-$500 so I figured I’d give the app a shot. The identification works as expected but many apps have done this before. The price guide isn’t accurate but I’d argue no price guide today, even something like Greysheet wholesale bid isn’t accurate to the true market value of a coin as there are so many factors that influence the value.

Finally the grading. I’m actually impressed how decently well this app grades. It gives a broad range but I can forgive that as I know grading isn’t an exact science. It shows Goods and Goods, VG’s as VG’s, VF’s as VF’s, AU’s as AU’s. I’m pleasantly surprised it works decently well. I feel it may have a bias for brighter or dipped coins and a bias against darker coins with XF-AU level of detail but the app I feel still grades pretty well to give someone who is not as informed a general idea as to the grade of their coin.

Not sure what the subscription thing is for. I hate subscription services. Just let me pay a flat 30 bucks to access all the features permanently dammit!

Anyways despite the ads being obnoxious I’m surprised the app is of much higher quality then I expected.

  • Brilliance and Learning

I truly stumbled on this app, I have randomly kept certain coins over the last couple of years because I thought “oh that’s pretty” or “wow that’s shiny” not knowing anything about what was the background….. moving along to the present and my coin collecting has taken on a different direction and I love to know I have CoinSnap in the palm of my hands at all times 👍. Totally worth it and a great easy, user friendly app 🙂

  • Great help!

The app contains a buddy that will give you information and he might say search it up if he doesn’t understand, but he’ll figure it out really quick if you give a proper description!
  • SO SLOWW

this game is amazing. It’s useful and perfect for me since I love collecting old things because it’s cool to think about- but that’s past the point. All the info on the coins inputted are spectacular, but, I do have one grudge with one of my coins, which, shows up as some different coin when I take a picture of it. The coin is this “library coin” and it’s super interesting. But it just doesn’t look like my coin when I see the actual pictures of it. But anyways- some of my other critiques, are easy to handle. 4/5 for that because it’s SO hard to get the perfect fit for my coins. But it’s amazing and organized and super easy to find what I want to look at. My last problem is that it’s SO SLOWW. It has a few bugs especially when it comes to the loading the coin pages up. Every time it can’t load, I have to double click the button, restart the app and take another picture of it. That’s one of the burg reasons I put a 3. Still, overall a great app to approach if you have a coin collection and you want to know the value. Stay safe :)

  • Poor Specifications

So I was really excited to sort out this jar of pennies I have into “Spend” and “Get Appraised”. I thought this app would be a HUGE help-I was wrong.
Not only does the app not tell me if I have an error coin, it also only provides brief descriptions about the coin’s POTENTIAL errors. And not even customized descriptions either. 1984 pennies mention possible errors of die breaks or off center strikes, but heavens forbid it bothers to mention double ears or other visual cues to pick up on.
And even if you understand the very vague descriptions there aren’t any pictures specific to each coin so I’ve got something to compare with.
This is with premium service! Paying for premium, I’d expect a catalog of references for error coins for visual comparison, since the AI doesn’t actually seem to ID error coins like we’re led to believe.
    Very disappointed.

  • Great App! Needs work though.

I like the app a lot! It has many features I enjoy and helps me when deciding on buying coins or finding coins to keep with my pocket change or bank rolls. Only issue I really have with the app is the camera when snapping a pic of a coin to identify or grade. Sometimes it’s difficult to center the coin and get a quality photo for the identification process. I’d also like to see estimates and identification of foreign coins too. In all it’s a great app! Fairly priced! Very handy for the collector and easy to use for the new collectors as well!

  • Helpful but missing some simple options

Really helpful for identifying old coins. Especially ones I had from other counties. After doing all the work to take hundred of pics of my coins with the app, I didn’t realize that there wasn’t a way to download all of the pics of the coins I put into the app without having to go back in and download load each pic individually. The option to download all of the pics at once would be really helpful considering it took a few hours in the first place. Also, to use the “grade my coin” option, I have to take pics again of the same coin instead of just using the pics I just took.

  • Great data base of coins

I’m impressed with this app so far. I’ve been a coin collector for about 15 years. Something I have a big bag of world coins. Some of those coins I had no idea where they come from, but with this app so far I’m able to find out. The coin grading tab work well, only a couple coins did I think it was probably wrong on the grade, but 99% of the time I think it spot on. Overall I think this is for sure a great tool for beginner coin collectors. It has a great data base, grading and inventory section. The yearly cost is also reasonable. Well done
