  • I don’t know

I’ll admit, I play this game often and have grown surprisingly attached to some of the characters. The gameplay is a definite improvement over the original, but the frustrating difficulty spikes in leveling can make it a chore. Unfortunately, where the game consistently falls short is in its storyline. It teeters on the edge of being compelling but never quite gets there, leaving me constantly disappointed. Whether it’s the fault of the writers or the translators, the characters have somehow become even more one-dimensional, and any hint of a deeper narrative feels hollow. The seasonal events and pop quizzes are painfully repetitive and uninspired, ticking off the usual boxes without adding anything new or exciting. The visual novel segments could have really benefited from an art style update—no offense to the current design—and a sprite-based approach would have been much more fitting than the mildly unsettling live2D animation they’ve gone with. Despite the game’s undeniable charm and the ease of picking it up, I can’t in good conscience recommend it as a quality app or story. It’s familiarity is comforting, but I can only lend it about 3 star. In the end, it’s more of a guilty pleasure than something I’d recommend to a friend with any confidence.

  • 10/10 (Veteran Player)

Just like the first game, I’ve been playing this game since day one and it is still AMAZING. I love the first game but honestly the second one is a bit better than the first one because the dance battles are way more interesting and Devil Points are WAY easier to get. The only annoying thing is that, for some reason, they made it to where you can't get Demon Vouchers with Devil Points..so now you have to level up in order to spend your Devil Points to get Demon Vouchers from the level up reward. Either that or spend your raven on them (which is harder to get on this game for some reason).

I've been there since the OG game dropped and I've been here the day NB dropped. The part with Lucifer and Levi made me tear up. 🥹

  • best otome game out there

I have spent an absurd amount of time and money on otome games just to feel something, and in my professional opinion, Obey Me Nightbringer is the best of the best. I love the characters and the story. I followed from the original game. I’m Mammon and Satan’s biggest fan, they are my baby boys. (That’s also a crazy sentence to write and out of context sounds even CRAZIER)
The gameplay of Nightbringer is sooooo good, such a well done and cute rhythm game. I’m a really big fan of the music they make, and it never feels stale or overplayed in the game’s context. The art for the rhythm mini game is amazing, so cute.
The card system that supports everything is very reasonable too. Most games are very unfair on your ability to pull cards let alone pull quality cards. Even spending little to no money you could pull a card you really wanted! The art is usuallyyyyy super cute too 😁
Again, I really enjoy the characters and story. Even the events are so cute. My only wish is that they’d include your self insert character more into the event stories. Sometimes they feel like an afterthought to the event story which is alright sometimes because it can’t always be about me, but sometimes I wish they’d have something to do besides watch.
I highly recommend Obey Me Nightbringer to everyone, I’ve told people in real life to play it a bunch too. I’m their biggest fan !

  • Hoping the game continues to develop more and more

I love the concept of this game, the plot of the story is very interesting but in execution the writing seems a bit stilted/stale and the characters can be very one dimensional at time, like how Beelzebubs only character trait is eating, you really can’t talk to him about anything else and when he replies to the other characters that’s the only thing he ever talks about, making him quite boring. I wish the story was better written as well, it seems a bit amateur at times. However the art in this game is beautiful and many of the other characters are very lovable. I love that it has voice acting and original songs as well. I also can’t get enough of the anime and think it’s very cool and unique for them to add that. The game mechanics are fun but can get a bit repetitive at times. Despite my criticisms I still enjoy this game very much and recommend it to anyone who’s really into otome games, I just hope the app continues to improve.

  • Nightmare is flawed and there are still bugs in the game that were there when it launched

My biggest problem with this game is the flawed nightmare system. This is two diavolo nightmares in a row that I summoned over a 100 times and still didn’t get the card. The devs should take some notes from genshin impact because I’m tired of losing to the card I don’t want. Let’s get to the bugs in the game. Devs why is the same bug that has been there since release date still going on in number 1 extreme. That song featured on lesson 3 hard as a extreme battle and the bug is where half of the screen stops registering the taps then starts sometime later. Why a year later is the bug still in the game? To me the old obey me was way better. This obey just makes the devs look money hungry, and I say this because we have to get the card twice just to be able to get the card to level 100. Not only that but they stopped giving devil points on certain things such as leveling a character’s intimacy level. So they cut the amount of devil points we get so we have to buy them?

  • Not fun when everytime you log in your spammed with things you can’t skip

I shouldn’t ever have to spend 2 minutes delaying IN GAME ADVERTISING for IN GAME CONTENT, to play. The fights are terrible even if you have a good team since they are rythm only and lag a lot. The story isn’t good either I prefer the original all around at least my game dosent freeze in the original trying to load advertisements for things that cost real money… And not only that, I can click close 15 times before it’s done with the animation I never agreed to look at in the first place. I don’t care if you’re showing me trash for a new event, I don’t care if it’s something I want STOP SPAMMING THE FEED AND LET ME PLAY AS SOON AS I OPEN THE GAME. I’d get if it’s an pop up every few times you play but EVERY time you load the game? It’s just so annoying.

Update developer response: I alleviate bringing it up to the team, it’s just annoying that there’s ‘always’ a sale/event/random thing happening and you a forced to watched laggy, annoying animated cutscenes every time they add things to the game, which is incredibly annoying especially when the ‘3d’ models look so bad I keep stop playing since I don’t want to see them. Ever. Same with the laggy ads that no matter how many times I click close sit there until it’s done loading then.

  • Decent story, growing less accessible

The game already started with levels more difficult to complete than Obey Me! Shall We Date?, but the Ruri Tunes function is steadily getting harder and harder to get through. It’s harder to level cards, harder to GET good cards in the first place, and the only suggestion the devs have for it is to pay money that not everyone has.

A common fan suggestion- that is, an accessibility option that would allow players to pass a level with a C rank if they got a full combo or perfect finish- has not been implemented, nor have any others, leaving no way to get through the story without backbreaking effort or money put into the game. “Free to play” is sounding more and more like satire. Market your game honestly or make it more accessible.

  • I love OG and NB but…

When they first announced the game I was really excited for it to come out however the more we learned about it I started to feel bummed out since non of our cards would be transferable and our work on OG would just become useless since it’s no longer being updated. I do like how NB Home Screen works however I think it’s a lot less cluttered than OG and it’s much more convenient. The story line is pretty interesting and it keeps you engaged however it gets very difficult to get through lessons at a certain point(I’m very behind on lessons right now😭) over all I can’t really complain about NB I just wish we could be nicer to Asmo since the game is sort of trashing him now? (Not sure if they’ve fixed it yet) and I miss my cards from OG I worked really hard for that🫠 I love wanderers whereabouts though I appreciate how it’s giving more opportunities to hear the voice actors. Overall I’ll still give it a 5 star review because I still love Obey Me in general.
