trust me, i’m a professional

credentials: og player of omswd, vip subscriber, om! tumblr author with 1600 followers, owner of the om! manga & the le crunchyroll plush… solmare, i have sunk so much money into this franchise pls hear my prayers.

this game has so much charm and a special place in my heart. mammon and i are married in the astral plane. the new music slaps and the rhythm gameplay beats the og dance battles every time.

HOWEVER: the inconsistency of the story between omswd and omnb is not lost on old school fans. also, solmare’s price gouging is insane. a few weeks ago they were charging $40 for a single pull of an animated card where you choose the character (the shower ones they throw in the ridiculous ads). that’s a darn good card but for $40 you could buy all three manga and still have money left over for a snack. also, they are pumping out events like nobody’s business and i swear they get worse every time…

in short: the increased attention to the art and music does NOT go unappreciated!! and, i miss the old story. i miss the attention being put into my lovable blorbos. i miss when each of the brothers had a characterization outside of their “avatar.” it feels like they’ve lost the plot in favor of shiny, gimmicky things to attract new players. but as part of the old guard, the 2% that spends a not insignificant portion of my time and my money on this silly little franchise, please don’t forget about us solmare <3

BEST OTOME GAME EVER

And trust me when I say I’ve played them all every one on my switch and on the phone. The original Obey Me and now this one are truly the best ones to ever exist. It’s never ending to because there’s always something to do between old events new events stories both games main stories and card stories the cute Instagram like devilgram and videos and anime it’s just incredible plus you can date all of them at the same time if that’s what you wish and for me I love them all so much it’s perfect ( though Luke is more like a son or little brother everyone else even side characters are *chefs kiss* dateable wise and Luke’s adorable for that sweet kiddo touch ) I can’t say enough great things about this. I hope it continues for many years to come both the OG Obey Me and Obey Me NB are the best of the best, it’s like if Mystic Messenger never had to end and you got to date everyone at once if you wanted to only even better than you are imagining it’s the greatest thanks devs keep up the incredible work !

great game BUT...

The cards should be a lot cheaper to level up and i'm currently on 20-8 and I always have to use those flowers even though most of the time I get combo finishes and I level up all of the cards that I use I even have back up cards just in case My memory cards are about level 48 and my other cards are about 60-63 and somehow I'm still struggling even though I get combo finishes and use the flowers I think that's a little absurd

Brilliant & disappointing

The main plots of Obey Me and Obey Me NB are BRILLIANT. Especially Obey Me. The artwork is also superb. But the events and text messages are really disappointing. They made an interesting and sometimes very dark main narrative. But then they pair it with really juvenile text message exchanges and events with the same types of G rated stories with new themes slapped on them. The main plot is M rated, but everything else is G rated, like my 12 year old niece would likely find it boring and repetitive. Please developers, most of the fans are not tweens. Bring back the writers of the original Obey Me story. This is a story about demons, not a gaming app for children.

I don’t know

I’ll admit, I play this game often and have grown surprisingly attached to some of the characters. The gameplay is a definite improvement over the original, but the frustrating difficulty spikes in leveling can make it a chore. Unfortunately, where the game consistently falls short is in its storyline. It teeters on the edge of being compelling but never quite gets there, leaving me constantly disappointed. Whether it’s the fault of the writers or the translators, the characters have somehow become even more one-dimensional, and any hint of a deeper narrative feels hollow. The seasonal events and pop quizzes are painfully repetitive and uninspired, ticking off the usual boxes without adding anything new or exciting. The visual novel segments could have really benefited from an art style update—no offense to the current design—and a sprite-based approach would have been much more fitting than the mildly unsettling live2D animation they’ve gone with. Despite the game’s undeniable charm and the ease of picking it up, I can’t in good conscience recommend it as a quality app or story. It’s familiarity is comforting, but I can only lend it about 3 star. In the end, it’s more of a guilty pleasure than something I’d recommend to a friend with any confidence.

10/10 (Veteran Player)

Just like the first game, I’ve been playing this game since day one and it is still AMAZING. I love the first game but honestly the second one is a bit better than the first one because the dance battles are way more interesting and Devil Points are WAY easier to get. The only annoying thing is that, for some reason, they made it to where you can't get Demon Vouchers with Devil Points..so now you have to level up in order to spend your Devil Points to get Demon Vouchers from the level up reward. Either that or spend your raven on them (which is harder to get on this game for some reason).

I've been there since the OG game dropped and I've been here the day NB dropped. The part with Lucifer and Levi made me tear up. 🥹

best otome game out there

I have spent an absurd amount of time and money on otome games just to feel something, and in my professional opinion, Obey Me Nightbringer is the best of the best. I love the characters and the story. I followed from the original game. I’m Mammon and Satan’s biggest fan, they are my baby boys. (That’s also a crazy sentence to write and out of context sounds even CRAZIER)
The gameplay of Nightbringer is sooooo good, such a well done and cute rhythm game. I’m a really big fan of the music they make, and it never feels stale or overplayed in the game’s context. The art for the rhythm mini game is amazing, so cute.
The card system that supports everything is very reasonable too. Most games are very unfair on your ability to pull cards let alone pull quality cards. Even spending little to no money you could pull a card you really wanted! The art is usuallyyyyy super cute too 😁
Again, I really enjoy the characters and story. Even the events are so cute. My only wish is that they’d include your self insert character more into the event stories. Sometimes they feel like an afterthought to the event story which is alright sometimes because it can’t always be about me, but sometimes I wish they’d have something to do besides watch.
I highly recommend Obey Me Nightbringer to everyone, I’ve told people in real life to play it a bunch too. I’m their biggest fan !

The story is good

I played and even bought the monthly subscription for the first game, but i don’t have the motivation to spend the money for this one. I love the story, but its very slow going because you have to level up your cards before you can finish buying all the nodes to level it up. Also, i will say that i love the music so much but i’m not good at rhythm games so that is also slowing down my progress. I love this series and because they use they/them for the mc, it makes me feel incredibly included and for that i will support them, but i was pretty disappointed in the gameplay. ps, the first game is perfect.
