  • Good, but not what I was expecting

I have been an OG Obey Me player since it was launched. Nightbringer basically has newer features, a different premise, and shows the “lore” side of the original game and characters we all know and love. However, so far the story itself is very similar to the OG Obey Me storyline. This can be a good or bad thing depending on the person. But since Nightbringer was advertised to be a new and different story from OG Obey Me, it felt like I was reading the storyline from OG Obey Me other than some plot changes— making me wonder if it was worth having a different app at all.

The rhythm game mechanisms was refreshing at first to see. But the controls were rather difficult to understand, even for someone like me who has experience with rhythm games. I would suggest having options to reduce and increase difficulty levels to make it a more enjoyable experience for players.

I loved the new concepts of video call, Wanderers Wheresbouts, and Fab Snap which allowed me to interact with the Obey Me characters. But I admit the animation style feels a bit uncanny. The concept is great, and I understand that having detailed models can be difficult to add, but I do agree that the animation quality is of lower-quality tier. But it is still a fun concept nonetheless.

Otherwise, I think Nightbringer has a lot of potential and I look forward to see how the app and story will progress in the future!

  • Would be 5 stars without 3D Models

Cool continuation coming from an OG OM player, I like the new battle style and the art aesthetics! Only thing is, the 3D models are so frickin jarring. They look like morphed mutants from Solomon’s cooking. Either fix it or better yet, just give us 2D chiibis for WW and demon tiktok. It keeps art direction consistent and looks better, the 3D models right now are not it

  • Blatant cashgrab

It was really shady and gross that the devs only announced that they weren’t going to update the original game anymore on a Reddit AMA a WEEK before this game dropped. They said it was because they wanted to “add new features that wouldn’t work in the original.

So what did they add? Ruri tunes, a janky rhythm game that’s full of bugs and non-responsive, and a fake tiktok app with the most hideous 3d models I’ve ever seen, that you can otherwise ignore, because it doesn’t effect the story at all. Other than that, the game is pretty much exactly the same.

So that’s what they forced us to restart for. No apology, no “thanks for sticking with us,” just a $500 whale bait package, and one UR+ card that’s also a hard mode battle card reward. What a joke.

  • Really great but the battles aren’t worth it

It’s an amazing story and love the new design, and how interactive it is. But the battles make no sense you can hit all objectives and pretty
Much have a perfect score but still only get a D and can’t pass it make no sense. Only thing that is making question if I want to even spend money on the game which to me is really said I loved the OG obey me and I love the new game so far but the way the battles are set up make you kind of question it- pretty much battles feel like they are set up so you have to spend money to be able to pass instead of how you actually did.

  • Too similar to the original

The new gameplay is fun, but everything else is too similar to the original. The new story / feature could have easily just been added to the original where many users already have the foundation of cards & other features that were paid for. Having to start over after playing the original for 3+ years is very frustrating, especially with the original game not getting any more story. I am fine starting over with the story / game part, but not having all of the stuff that i paid / grinded for just feels like a scam. I think there should be a way to transfer data / materials or at least players of the original should get some kind of bonus.

  • Pleasantly Surprised

I was a little worried that the gameplay would be too different and the new game itself would be too much. But since downloading I’ve really enjoyed all the updates and new looks. Even the mini Ruri game is super fun and makes me actually want to play it rather than skipping the dance battles in the previous Obey Me. I’m excited to see how this goes!

  • Nice

It’s like a revamp of the old game it runs alot smoother and i like the story but the 3d models are a complete other story they felt like more of an afterthought and definitely incomplete dreadful the first time i saw them really hit me like a dump truck what am i doing with my life why am i playing a bible fan fictions love child with social media the game is nice i think they finally found a direction with the plot instead of endless loops of beach episodes and events it has a more aesthetically pleasing design ruri tunes was a fun addition everything is like the old game but better but beware of the 3d model’s

  • It’s really good and has similar features

It’s a really good game and I have been waiting since the beta for it to come out! I love the new app added called fab snap and WW(wonderous whereabouts). And the new update to nightmare is really cool and I love the new cards-!! I can’t wait for the events to come-!!
  • Love it

Really really loving the new game so far! All the new features are a delight. I know there’s some bugs that are being ironed out still. I’m especially having trouble with the intimacy levels. They keep resetting or dropping back to 4 when I reach level 5. Hopefully these will be gone soon.
