  • Fast

    Good quick game.
  • Has potential

This game simply functions as advertised. Ginny Rum with zero bells and whistles. The experience could be vastly improved with online play.

    It also seems somewhat rigged?

    - often get a run of 6-8+ picture cards in a row that don’t help my hand whatsoever
    - my opponent sometimes goes on a run where they pick up every single card I discard
    - I often hold onto an incomplete set for 10+ turns and the second I dispose of one the VERY next card would have been the one to complete it. Almost EVERY single time. It’s infuriating

  • Funny Rummy

Overall, this is a fun game, which can surely provide hours of fun. My only complaints are lack of live, real-person competition (all computer bot challengers). Additionally, the rng nature of the “shuffled” cards are not arbitrary—the number of times that you randomly draw the same card that was just played or discarded is absurdly high. All said, this game is worth a try.

  • Bad

This is the true telling on how bad Apple is , this Game alone is generating so many complaints to Apple it is alarming. Yet this game still holds a paid for 4.7 rating even the reviews here show the truth. Just go to the most recent and count the math shows this one is not even close to 4.7 yet WE DO NOT MATTER, WE ARE ONLY CUSTOMERS! Remember when you had pride in owning a Apple product? The developer brags on a 300,000 downloads but forget to tell you about the 287,000 uninstalls !!!

  • No chance cards are drawn randomly

Very poor game AI. A big win seems to always be followed by a big loss. Frustrating to play when it is clear that the deck will be stacked against you, literally, and card draws are biased.
  • Poor Shuffling Mechanism

This game is let down by the appalling code in the shuffle mechanism. Too many sets stay together, with the worst I have seen being four Queens in a row … 300,000 to 1 … but that game also had multiple three card runs which appear with similar odds (in a truly random pack).

I got to first in Ultimate Tier because I recognised the poor shuffling and adjusted my playing style to take advantage of the failure of the logic in the application. Then you just have to be better at stochastic thought than a computer game whose development team can’t properly generate pseudo random numbers. Simple.

PS: I teach software development for a living ;-)

  • Fun game but frustrating

This is a fun game until you get to the platinum level. Once you reach that, it is practically impossible for you to win. Yes, you may win one or two rounds, but your opponent will either undercut you a lot of times or the cards you need are either at the bottom or your opponent has it so that he ends up knocking before you. It is also very rare that you will undercut your opponent.

  • Test my claims about the AI opponent

I’ve enjoyed this app because it is stable and visually appealing with good responsiveness but the AI opponent prevents it from being truly great for the following reasons:

    — the AI opponent NEVER draws a card from the discard pile after the first turn…

    — …when it draws from the discard pile on the first turn, it only takes low value cards.

    — for these reasons you never have a chance to take a card that gets buried in the discard pile.

    — oftentimes the computer shuffle teases you with the exact card you are needing for several turns but you can’t ever get it for the above reasons.

You can win easily at certain times because sometimes the deck is shuffled in your favor but expect some arduous games in which you almost win only to lose at the very end for all the reasons I listed.

  • Hand stacking at higher levels

The average time the computer takes to get a knock hand gets very short at higher levels, suggesting that the game is simply giving the computer better cards at these levels — that’s a horrible way to design a game. The computer and player should always get randomly assigned cards.
  • Cards aren’t shuffled

I love this game. I am a gold 1 and level 75. It’s very fun and most of the time it’s a fair and challenging. But I swear these cards are shuffled poorly. It may just be “luck” that the AI sometimes can knock or gin on the 3rd turn for all the games in the match. Not a big enough thing for me to not place but it does get annoying.
