### 5/5 — Well-designed!

*2019-04-16, version 1.4.1*

This app has all the marks of excellent design plus content. There is almost no learning curve. The mark if a gear app is that you find yourself completely engaged in content and use, and nit laboring with controls and menus. It beautifully captures the wonder of the original split-leaf Psalter which was the ability to apply different tunes to the lyrics. And there are even live recordings for some. The developer has done a remarkable thing—he has made available one if the richest worship books in Church history in a way that glorifies the Word of God.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2018-12-26, version 1.4.1*

Great app! One slight problem on the second version of Psalm 45 verse one. Honour is spelt hoour. Awesome app!

### 5/5 — Finally a Place to Learn Tunes.

*2018-12-08, version 1.4.1*

A great app that allows to very easily find the Psalms and the tunes that go with the psalms. As well as John Brown’s commentary on the psalms is included as well. For the tune selects there is also live recordings of the psalms sung, another great blessing. You can ask search up the tune, I believe there are 198 tunes that this FCC psalter uses.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2018-04-04, version 1.4.1*

A wonderful app for singing this Psalter - beautifully done! I only wish it had a daily Psalm calendar to facilitate singing a portion daily!

The ability to choose a variety of tunes for each section is wonderful as is the ability to hear a congregation sing each section of the Psalter according to the tune assigned by the Comprehensive Psalter!

### 5/5 — Great Aid for Family Worship

*2017-07-03, version 1.4.1*

I've been wanting to learn how to sing these psalms for a while and this app has made that desire a dream. May it encourage you to sing praises alone, with your family and perhaps with your own congregation.

### 5/5 — The best app ever

*2017-06-17, version 1.4.1*

I am delighted to have found such a simple app that helps to link Psalms with relevant tunes for worship. Great for family devotions. May God bless this app to His Glory and praise.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2017-06-01, version 1.4.1*

Started using metrical psalter and then found this app. Easy to use. Great way to really pray the psalms.

### 5/5 — This is family worship gold!!!

*2017-04-01, version 1.4.1*

Thank you so much for making this app. My wife and I have been wanting to sing the psalms for family worship. This is great!

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2017-02-28, version 1.4.1*

This is a wonderful resource.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-02-15, version 1.3.3*

I enjoy the app, and it is very useful. But I find it difficult to match the words with the tune. It would be helpful to incorporate some way for the lyrics to be highlighted or something to aid in singing along with the music.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2017-02-15, version 1.3.3*

This is awesome. So encouraged to see apps like this. Great tool for family worship.
I do have one suggestion. I think it would be great to add a tempo variation to the tunes. I know the point isn't to sing along with the app but it would helpful. Just a thought and thanks for the great app!
Maybe a key change button too. Some of the demos are too high or low to start. I'm not quite a musical genius and changing keys in my head is difficult. Small obstacle though. Anyways, great stuff.

### 5/5 — Very Thankful

*2017-02-02, version 1.3.2*

There's kinda been this dream going around in my circles of having a split leaf psalter app.

I don't have the expertise to create one yet, so I'm thankful someone else was able to accomplish it.

The app is not perfect yet, but I'm happy with what I've seen so far.

Keep up the good work.

### 1/5 — Useless since changed

*2025-05-24, version 2.0.5*

I used to love this app, but not since they drastically changed the design. It’s now difficult to use. I hate it now. I would listen to the live recordings, and it was easy to sing along because the Psalm from the book was right there with the recording. That’s not the case anymore. I won’t be using it again.

### 1/5 — Regarding latest update

*2025-01-20, version 2.0.5*

I have used and enjoyed this app for several years but for me, this latest update is disastrous. I appreciate the ability to have the music and the words joined but now only the melody plunked out is available, no harmony. I also cannot find a way to link my favorite tunes to each psalm as it was in the older versions. I have recommended this app to many folks but hope they downloaded it before this version and do not “upgrade”. I would love to be able to return to the previous version even though it was not downloadable to a laptop.

### 1/5 — WHATS HAPPENED!!

*2025-01-05, version 2.0.5*

I really don’t like this new version, can’t even find a Settings button. What a shock I got this morning when I opened this app, it was so easy to find the psalm in church on the old version, I’m lost. Why the huge change???? Even the tunes listed aren’t favourites. Don’t even want to give it 1 star

### 1/5 — Keeps saying Playback Error

*2020-08-24*

I use the live recordings and sing along with them. Lately all it does is give me Playback Error. It’s very frustrating. I bought the Psalms of David in Metre to use to sing along with. It’s useless now because I can’t read music.

### 3/5 — Really good idea

*2025-01-19, version 2.0.5*

I love the new update to the 1650 app, it looks clean and the Instructor element is really neat. The only problem is that the Instructor bit keeps going wrong - when adding in or removing parts (MATB), the playback seems to jam and we get random parts being played, all out of order: very disconcerting. If you could iron out the bugs it would be worth 5* if not more. Thanks for all the work you’ve put into this.

### 3/5 — Great app with some drawbacks

*2018-12-20, version 1.4.1*

This is a very useful app with two major drawbacks.
1) It’s wonderful that the psalms each come with suggested tunes, about three options apiece, but I wish the reverse were true. I want to search by tune and see the top three psalm paring suggestions, because surely certain tunes are better suited to some texts and not suited to others
2) The live recordings are dreadful. There’s one shouty man who drowns everyone out. He’s not even good. He’s shouty.

### 4/5 — Not bad, but tune plays far too fast to sing along to.

*2024-10-01, version 1.4.1*

This generally an acceptable support for psalm singing.
There are a range of tunes which would support a newby to get started with psalm singing or help those already familiar with psalms to develop their repertoire of tunes.
There is a helpful function to link tunes to various psalms, so when you go to that psalm the next time it has the tune linked to it for easy access/playback.
My only complaint is that the speed of play back is far too fast! You can barely stop to get a breath!
As a Scottish Psalm singer of more than 30 years, may I suggest that in my experience, psalms are not meant to be sung this fast. We are singing the Word of God and tunes must be sung at a pace which allows some reflection of the words sung.
Therefore, all in all the app provides good access to the psalms in meter and a good variety of the tunes, but it’s frustratingly fast if you want sing along with the tune to learn it.

### 4/5 — Great step above the paper version

*2024-06-12*

However, I would like to adjust the tempo of the music
The Sing Your Part app has found a great way to adjust the tempos of the tunes of hymns (including some psalters inferior to the 1650)
Secondary to that, it also allows adjusting the volume of each part, so that one can focus on the melody or harmony one is trying to learn
If such features could be added to this app, it could make it even faster to memorize each psalm to the tune I find best at the tempo I find best

### 5/5 — Update on tune integrated in the psalter

*2026-03-23, version 2.1.3*

It works! Praise God, but it seems for me I have to press the play button, pause it and then press play again for me to hear the sound.
Is this issue from end alone?

### 5/5 — Best Psalter app around!!

*2025-05-31, version 2.0.5*

This app is an amazing blessing to the Body of Christ. A great and edifying resource. No other psalter app approaches it. I believe that every church ought to use the 1650 psalter, or an equivalent in their lingua franca, and the split leaf form is the ideal combination of musical adaptability wi the faithfulness to the Word. And this app is very well executed; kudos to the developers. Simple yet effective. God bless you.

### 5/5 — Parts for tunes was a great addition

*2025-02-10, version 2.0.5*

The new update for this app is great! I would say navigating the app was a little difficult at first but I have now got the hang of it. The fact that the parts of each tune can be listened to separately or together makes them very easy to learn which I really enjoy. It might be good if there was an option to transpose the songs higher or lower (as in the Sing Psalms App) but other than that it’s great. I have also found that tunes tend to play on repeat if listened to more than once. I’m not sure if this is supposed to happen but it is actually great because I can listen to the tune over and over without having to press a button each time I want to hear it! If it is a bug needing fixed, fix it but add an option to allow songs to repeat like this. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Please fix Psalm 119

*2024-03-03, version 1.4.1*

I pray they fix psalm 119 in the next update. It’s been broken (only 40 verses) all this time. Has nobody noticed?

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2023-09-26*

This is exactly what we needed for family worship with the children. Something simple with just one or two tunes that they can memorize. Fantastic!

### 5/5 — Well designed! Limitations on playback.

*2023-05-11, version 1.4.1*

Very intuitive layout, which is great! Only thing that could be added is a way to adjust the tempo of the playback of the music files. (Not sure how this would happen logistically.) Many of the tune files are very slow and not ideal for singing along.

### 5/5 — God bless you!

*2023-01-24, version 1.4.1*

Thank you so much for making this available! Such a help to me and my family to worship God by singing Psalms. Thank you again and again!

### 5/5 — INCREDIBLE!

*2022-12-04, version 1.4.1*

This app is amazing! I love the congregational singing (live recoding). It is so easy to follow even the new tunes and helps to explore the Psalms in a new way. Very easy app to use.
Everything works offline with the exception of the live recordings.

Is there a way to have the live recordings work offline? I am curious because I would love to share this with our missionary in Nicaragua to aid with his leading of the psalms, but they do not have internet up river.

### 5/5 — All the right features done well!

*2022-01-26, version 1.4.1*

Thank you for selecting midi tunes that repeat, are in my limited vocal range, and are slow enough for me to coordinate my breathing as I sing!

### 5/5 — Good App

*2019-09-15, version 1.4.1*

Good app. One suggestion would be to add a blank or hyphen as an extra “tune” name. That way users could select the blank in words-only mode, so that the app wouldn’t continue to display a probably wring tune name.
