  • Pure Gold

Can’t say enough about this app. It’s the best Mastodon client out there. Get the Max pro the value is amazing. It’s a one time payment (no subscription!) and that alone is worth paying for the app.
  • Great customization but can be slow at times.

The app would be the killer Mastodon client with the insane levels of customization and the divide view, but whenever I would upload photos to my post, I’m getting “An error occurred while sending your post - The connection timed out. Please check your network settings.” Sometimes the post would still somehow send, and other times, it’s lost to oblivion. Then on a recent occasion, spamming the same post multiple times! Even happens when I’m on WiFi and stable connection. I tested this out on other third party Mastodon clients and don’t run into this issue, so definitely not an issue with the app or the instance I’m on.

  • Private but useless unless you buy MonaPro

I was delighted to try this free app, until I tried to boost a post. That’s when the MonaPro message popped up to inform that I needed to try the 14-day trial (or buy) to get this feature. Same for favouriting. You can’t boost, favourite, etc., the most basic of “features.” The App page has no “in app purchase” or “14-day trial” info — how deceptive and disappointing. Unless you trial or buy the Pro version, this app is nothing but a big frustrating ad/demo for the real paid app. Uninstalling, low rating for deceptive practices and lousy demo design.

  • iPhone app like they used to make ‘em

Clever, thoughtful, powerful design. No nonsense. The best client out there.

  • My preferred Mastodon client.

I love the customization, but the defaults are sensible as well. And so many commands can be exposed to the user.

My killer feature is the robust share sheet for a post, allowing you to customize what is sent. Most apps would just send the link to the post. Mona allows you to send:
    - The author's name
    - Date of the post
    - The text of the post (!)
    - Link (of course)
    - Screenshot of the post (!)

...Or any combination of the above, which can be much more useful for several reasons.

    Other features I enjoy:
    - Loading posts directly from the remote server.
    - Viewing *all* the favorites and reposts, even those on other instances (which the 1st-party Mastodon app doesn't appear to be offer).
    - Very affordable compared to Ivory (and I love Tapbots' work), allowing me to give more towards keeping the Mastodon instances afloat.

I could keep going. Keep up the great work!

  • Best Subscription-less Client for Mastodon

Incredibly flexible. Very Mac-like interface design. Superbly customizable Mastodon client. Publishes instantaneously. Lyrical sound effects. What more could you want?
  • Absolutely the best

I’ve tried a lot of the Mastodon iOS apps but this one is my favorite. Not only is it very smooth and fast, it looks great too, with a user interface that matches the look and feel of the operating system.

The closest comparison to Mona is perhaps Ice Cubes, but that app has a lot of bloat to the UI and feels a bit slower. Also, Mona allows more customization than any of the apps I tried.

Best thing? No stupid monetization model. I gladly paid for the Pro Max version of this app to get it on all my Apple devices. And since it’s a one time fee, I can enjoy it as long as I want and not have to worry about paying monthly like some other apps. Big thumbs up from me.

  • Basic functionality locked behind paywall

The most basic functionality of mastodon like favoriting and reposting toots, not to mention the ability to filter and mute posts, and which is basically required to make mastodon usable at all, are locked behind a 12 dollar paywall, or a 20 dollar one if you want to use the app on more than one device. I would rather pay a 3 dollar subscription every month then pay that much up front. Give us options, or maybe have the balls to make the app fully paid instead of offering a gimped app and charging to make it useable.

  • Best app for accessibility, period

It’s hard for me to say if I prefer Ivory, or Mona. But it’s unquestionable that at the time of writing Mona is easily the most customizable, and best app for those with accessibility needs.

It’s a great app for general use too! Plus unlike Ivory there’s no subscription here. Just a one time payment to unlock all functionality. I highly recommend this app
