  • Couldn’t imagine being a day without coffee and Fr Mike!

My husband , each afternoon calls out, “Guess who is here?” my cue to grab my coffee and book and join in listening to Fr Mike. We couldn't imagine a day without fr. Mike
I'm on my second year of a (Bible in a year.) also with Fr Mike. Every church should inform parishioners of these two recorcesu! Most of us seniors , were young when the church made changes in the 60’s in a time we were not encouraged to read the catechism or the Bible , rather just attend a church on Sunday. We truly need to be re- educated in the wonderful Scriptures and knowledge that we need to live in the light and to recognize true teachings in our churches.

  • Bible in a year and catechism in a year

My wife and I listened to the Bible in a year podcast all the way through and liked it so much we started it all over and did a second year. Those two years eniched our life so much that we enrolled in the catechism in a year program and are now on day 202, right on schedule. We just finished the section on the Eucharist and are finishing up the next session, the sacrament of reconciliation. I can’t describe how much I appreciate the work that went into producing these podcasts. I have recommended them to anyone who would listen.

  • Clean and organized!

I sincerely appreciate how the Ascension app keeps me on task. I do not get distracted by other podcasts popping up in my usual podcast app or have to worry about the next episode automatically playing. Most importantly, I have access to a tremendous amount of resources in addition to the Bible and catechism in year podcasts. My favorites so far are the Bible and the Catechism themselves and the links. I like that I can pause the podcast and revisit a certain paragraph and then comeback to the audio. These are just the simple things I can write here, I can’t even start talking about the transformation in my heart and everyday life. I am deeply convicted in many areas and have committed to an “ongoing conversation” as Fr Mike likes to put it. May God bless Ascension, may the Lord keep Fr Mike. Keep up the good work.

I have greatly enjoyed and most likely greatly misunderstood the English translations of the Bible. Lately, I was able to compare the English translations with the Hebrew translations of the Tanach. I thought I saw parts that were left out in the English and there just might be parts left out, but now I’m beginning to understand that the chapters aren’t aligned as I thought they were in the beginning. The titles are also different. My wish was that the English translations would be the same as the Hebrew translations, which colored also my understanding as the two languages are so very different.
I want to take this time to express my gratitude for teaching us when there were none to teach us of the Bible writings and to explain what each chapter was about. Thank you so very much and may God bless every one of you who has made this possible.

  • Clean, simple, and easy to navigate

Clean, simple, and easy to navigate - This app is fantastic straight out of the gate! It’s simplicity makes it a worthy substitute for the Verbum app for mobile bible access (if you don’t need access to other texts/tools/translations). I love the integration and linking of the Catechism as well as the convenience of having the BIY/CIY podcasts built in. The audio availability of bible verses is a nice bonus too.

My only requests that came to mind for future development are 1) an iPad version, please, and 2) a Missal/Lectionary function (menu or widget) that links me to the daily Mass readings.

  • The Bible in a Year and The Catechism in a Year

I love The Bible in a Year and The Catechism is a Year!!
This is my 3rd year following The Bible in a Year. I learn so much listening to Father Mike read the Bible passages and then give an explanation of them. I am, each day, challenged, convicted, drawn to deeper faith and, often, in tears. Same goes for The Catechism in a Year.
My husband and I teach RCIA in our parish and both of these programs help us very much in our teaching, as well.
Thank you Father Mike, Jeff Cavins, John Harden and all of the wonderful people who have worked/are working so hard to bring these programs to those of us who love and are hungering for a deeper knowledge and appreciation of our wonderful Catholic faith!!

  • Look no further

I Can not explain the gratitude and happiness this app provides. If you are studying or following the BIAY or CIAY with Fr. Mike then no need to look any further. The app has the Catechism and the Bible provided for your reference. It also provides the reading plans and companions for both studies.
If you are new to these studies you will be so glad to have downloaded this app. A lot of great thought went into this to help us Christians enrich our understanding of Gods word and plan for us. Thank you Ascension. 🙏🏼

  • An Unparalleled Tool for Spiritual Growth

I’ve been using the Ascension Press app for some time now, and I can confidently affirm that it has been an invaluable tool in nurturing my faith. The complexities of scripture can often be daunting, but this app brilliantly resolves those intricacies, making the words of faith more approachable and digestible.

The thoughtfully structured lessons, comprehensive commentaries, and a wide array of resources have significantly deepened my understanding, shedding light on the profound wisdom contained within Scripture. I appreciate the user-friendly interface and the dedication to delivering quality content that not only enlightens, but truly inspires.

All in all, Ascension Press is much more than an app, it's a companion in my spiritual journey. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking to grow and strengthen their faith. It's a spiritual powerhouse in your pocket. Five stars well deserved.

  • Wealth of information

I love this app! It’s my go to for Bible and Catechism information. The cross referencing works great and I like the informative answers to things that are sprinkled throughout. It’s really nice that this app is JUST Bible and Catechism because those things in themselves are big enough and I think if there were more things it would be a bit overwhelming (I know they might add Bible studies but I don’t think that will be too crazy). My one suggestion is that I wish there was an archive of past days “Bible answers” because sometimes I don’t get to all of them or I want to go back.

  • Wonderful resource!

It is so good to have both the Bible in a Year and Catechism in a Year podcasts, as well as the accompanying texts and reading plan all in one place! I also really appreciate the Bible Answers from Jeff Cavins, and am looking forward to be able to migrate my progress from Apple to the app. One feature I would request you consider for the future is the ability to switch the display to “dark mode”, with a black background and white text. As a migraine sufferer, it is much easier to read for a prolonged time in this format. God bless you all and thank you so much for this app and all that you do!
