Allow using with VPNs

You guys allow using the mobile web version after passing captcha so why not do the same for the app? It’s really dumb.

Compare to other model seems very basic

I’m using and comparing a number of different models. At the moment. This model seems somewhat basic and doesn’t have a very intuitive User face and the answers seem to be very average. If I was not familiar with the other models, I would’ve been impressed so this might be an overly harsh criticism but considering the state of the art this seems to be lagging behind some of the other better performers.

College Student: Too Expensive

CRITIQUE UP FRONT: I truly want to pay for the PRO version, since it is truly that much more improved of results vs standard searching but I will not due to this: I am a university student and the cheapest plan of $20/mo or even $200/yr is too pricy for us to consider. If only there was a discount from those of us who are able to verify their collegiate status! Either that or offer a new plan, because again I really want a fuller version of Perplexity but it's just way too expensive. Which is saddening because I use this search engine more than any other for knowledge acquisition -- which phenomenally provides info to me better and in better format than anything else out there. I want to be a part of the Perplexity team/family, but not at these prices which I cannot afford for the years that I would want to use this great service. Please consider my [and likely others's] plea.

SO BAD!!!

I feel compelled to express my profound disappointment with the Perplexity application's abysmal user experience. The perpetual loading screens are nothing short of infuriating, with each query seemingly lost in an endless void of refreshing indicators. The application's failure to generate any meaningful responses, despite extended waiting periods, is utterly unacceptable. What's particularly vexing is the stark contrast between the web version's seamless functionality and the mobile application's shortcomings. While the browser-based interface effortlessly delivers results, the mobile app appears to be fundamentally broken, consistently failing to produce even basic audio outputs. One cannot help but question the competence of the development team. How can such a disparity exist between platforms? Are the developers merely going through the motions without any genuine commitment to quality? This level of performance is absolutely beneath the standards one would expect from a modern application. The current state of the mobile application is nothing less than a testament to poor execution and questionable professional standards.

Amazing AI app

Been using this for a few days and really it’s the best search engine so far! Thank you Perplexity.

Scabs

They’re offering their services to replace striking workers. Also the AI is slop, a Google search is much easier.

Just awesome!

With all the stigma around AI apps and chat bots in the world today, I wasn’t so sure about using this app or any like it. I have to say now, I’m glad that I finally did! I started out using ChatGPT and shortly switched over to using perplexity. I use it literally everyday. It’s basically a second(tied for first) google. It’s very informative and user friendly! Very simple to work with and I can say with confidence that it’ll definitely be a go-to for resourceful information from now on.
I’m interested to see what the “AI Era” results in and I only say this cause I’m a firm believer that with the right minded leaders and enthusiast in place, it will do great things that are unimaginable not to mention, open fires to opportunities that not only could be helpful in a vast majority of areas but it could also be beneficial to the economy.

A suggestion

This is an amazing app that could replace search engines.
Suggestions
1. Add more sources (I have no problem with your sources but it seems that it doesn’t have the whole access to the internet) (it would be fantastic)
2. Add a save photo feature.

No more need for google

I am excited by the fact that google’s stranglehold on searches for information is being weakened.
For to long I have felt forced to use google when I really don’t want to support them. Everyone knows that they disproportionately favor one political side over another. I think it’s important that the place where most people get their information should not be abusing their power to influence public opinion.

So in defiance against the abuse of power to influence political elections I am extremely excited that I no longer have to support a company that is nothing more than a political propaganda tool for one political party’s advancement.
Google, and other tech companies, have been brazenly open about their political biases; and, for to long there was nothing we the people could do. How frustrating it has been to search for something that one party has done, only to be unable to find it yet if you search for something that the other party has done wrong the information is readily available and impossible to miss. This disproportionate favoritism of one political party and hatred of the other, and the complete control of information being towed along political lines is utterly dangerous and shocking, and it has been this way for decades.

I am so thankful that I have no reason to ever use a google search again after using perplexity’s search tool. No bias ( that I have seen so far, fingers crossed)
