Wish it had a few things though *2023-08-19, version 2.3* I absolutely love this app and it has made charting and organizing my charts a breeze. However, I would love to see the following in a future update: 1). Apple Pencil support. It would be awesome to be able to write on my charts directly in the app. The only way to do this is to export my chart as a PDF and save it elsewhere. I prefer keeping my charts within the app since the notebooks feature is super handy. 2). The ability to import PDFs. I like to add snippets of tabs over some of my charts. Since the app doesn’t allow me to add a screenshot of anything to my charts, it would at least be nice for me to do it in another app and then import that new pdf back into the app for the sake of organization. ### 4/5 — Font variables *2023-04-21, version 2.2.0* I have hundreds of charts in 1CHART Is it possible to have / use more than 1 FONT size in the same chart ? Please allow me to save my files to iCloud! ### 4/5 — Almost 5 stars! *2022-03-23, version 2.1.7* These charts are clean, easy to read, and easily transferable to apps like ForScore where reading/marking is more practical. The app is also relatively easy to use. I love the app and I make every chart besides jazz tunes in this app. A few things that may make the app better: Make sharing charts with other people easier. The sharing/notebook creation process is pretty strenuous. There must be a way to make a highlight all button or make the selection process more similar to the Apple email app. Rhythmic notation: when you want to erase one rhythm, you have to erase all rhythms written for the selected chord. So if you write an 8th note when you meant to push 16th note, you have to erase all the rhythm you’ve written up to that point. Same goes for beaming - if you make an error beaming rhythms over multiple chords, you have to erase all of the chords and rewrite them with the proper beaming. Also, it is currently impossible to denote the number of beats for a chord if you are also trying to notate a push. I hope I’m wrong, or that there is an easy solution to these problems! Tempo/Style marking: there is no way to denote what note value gets the beat!! This makes the writer have to make a decision about how to mark the tempo in compound time like 12/8; do you mark the 8th note pulse or the dotted quarter note pulse? What if the song is in cut time? There should be a way to clarify this. As far as style markings: although you could use the subtitle for a style marking, it would be great if there was a text box in the upper left hand corner beneath the tempo marking where you could write the style of the song. Again, I love the app, and I hope that I’m wrong about these few issues and that I’ve overlooked how to get around them, but I think most users would agree that fixing these issues would take the app to the next level. Wished it has a version for iPhone. *2021-07-13, version 2.1.7* This is an excellent app for those who want to chart songs using the Nashville Numbering System. It is very easy to use. The only thing that keeps me from giving it full marks of five stars is that it only works on an iPad. I do wish it can work on an iPhone as well, that way when I don’t have my iPad with me, I can still use my iPhone to chart songs and be able to sync charts between my two devices. ### 4/5 — Awesome App *2021-01-16, version 2.1.7* I love everything about this app, EXCEPT... It seems there’s a bug with the measure function. The more one uses the ‘box,’ it graphically moves upward toward the underline; thus, a graphic “crash” of sorts that makes it hard to select the box the further you go in the chart. ### 4/5 — Great App *2020-12-14, version 2.1.7* This app is great! One thing I can’t figure out is how to put an accidental on the bottom number in a slash chord. Like if I wanted 1m/3b.... the b always ends up on the top chord. Am I doing something incorrectly? If this is not possible, please look into making it possible for a future update. That is the only thing preventing this app from being perfect for me. Thanks y’all! ### 4/5 — Love it but..... *2020-09-05, version 2.1.7* I LOVE this app, it’s everything I’ve been looking for and wanting in an app like this and the dark mode is an awesome addition when playing live. My only gripe which would make this app a 5 star is that I can’t seem to find a way to import pdf files which would be such a useful option to have, instead I’m having to re write a lot of charts to add them into the app maybe the makers could add an option like this and I would gladly upgrade to 5 star review and tell all my miso pals about the app. ### 4/5 — Voiceover Accessibility *2020-06-02, version 2.1.7* I downloaded this app to be able to write Nashville charts, as it was recommended to me as a friend. I am totally blind, and I use the built in screen reader on the IPad Voiceover. There are some things that I can access with the screen reader beautifully within the app, but other things such as some text edit boxes which are not labeled and also there are some unlabeled buttons in the app where Voiceover just says button. I feel this app could be very useable for a blind musician, and having complete access to this app would greatly help me in my job as a worship pastor. The app is almost there as far as accessibility, but there are a few things that I would need access to as a voiceover user to completely be able to use the app at its fullest. I would love to be able to talk to someone from the development team so that I can demo for them what is accessible and what would need to be made accessible. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could interact with this app at all with voiceover and I would love to be able to add this app to my toolbox. The number system is just too foreign to many musicians. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 2/5 — App doesn’t support newer screen sizes! *2020-08-06, version 2.1.7* This would be a great app for chord notations but unfortunately the app doesn’t support the screen sizes (and resolutions) of the newer iPad Pro models (which are on market since years!). And the rare updates of the app didn’t ship an adjustment for that yet. In conclusion you can say that an update to support the newer iPad models is long overdue! This app might get a five star rating if the newer iPad models are fully supported but since then my eyes have to live with big bezels when using the app so I can’t give a higher rating. ### 3/5 — Good app, missing basics *2022-04-21, version 2.1.7* This is a good chart app whether or not you use Nashville numbers. However, it’s missing some really basic features (iCloud sync, Bluetooth pedal integration) that have me questioning its value for the price. With no updates in two years I’m not convinced it’s worth paying for in 2022. ### 3/5 — Great but no Footswitch support *2022-03-14, version 2.1.7* Really like the App. Easy To use, create and export files. Which is what I need to do since my Bluetooth footswitch doesn‘t turn pages in this App. I hope there will be the option soon. Other that that, it isn‘t the pretiest and the menues can seem a little clustered. i also wished you could import little pictures of notation/ tabs for Riffs etc. But it does its Job and I Wouldn‘t want to miss it anymore. ### 3/5 — Alignment issue, please fix! *2021-06-10, version 2.1.7* I’m a full time musician in Nashville. I play on Lower Broadway regularly and the number system is how we communicate down there. First let me say most of the features on this app are awesome. I would use it for everything but paper charts still have the edge because of ONE issue…when you do ANY slash chords, split measures, or add repeat signs it throws off the alignment of that line which is hard to read. The chords don’t line up with each other vertically down the chart. (You can even see it in the screen shots of the app on the App Store) Each chord on the chart should be squared up on a grid system. The jagged lines make this app borderline unusable for a high pressure sight reading situation. Yes, I’m aware of the “align measures” feature but that wastes valuable screen space and still sometimes doesn’t line up right when there are lots of changes or multiple columns. I need all chords (regardless of modifiers) to fit squarely on the screen with ONE page in TWO columns. This is especially important with songs that have a lot of changes and large arrangements. Other than that, everything else in this app is fantastic. If the developer fixes this issue I will give 5 stars and never look back to paper charts. Thank you ### 3/5 — Good and could be better *2020-02-07, version 2.1.7* I’ve been using this app for 2 years and have written well over 100 charts with it. It works great within its limitations. What it can’t do is let you notate a melodic line or import an image of a melodic line. So if there is a signature lick that is part of the tune you are out of luck. ### 4/5 — Please work on draggable sections *2026-05-17, version 2.3* Really great app! The potential is massive. I’d recommend it 100%. I would say though, if those sections were draggable, that would be fire. Imagine having a side panel to where instead of copying and pasting, you can either move by dragging, or even create new sections based on the sections you’ve already created (basically the app remembers that in this song, intro means this progression, and when I type intro, it will add that). Just some functionality stuff, I found myself struggling to move stuff around when in high stake situations. But it’s a really amazing app! ### 4/5 — My preferred charting app, but *2026-04-09, version 2.3* This is the best Nashville number-style charting app I’ve found so far, but I recently found that sometimes the chords are incorrect when I switch a chart from numbers to letters. For example, the 6m in the key of A-flat minor is E-minor/F-flat minor, but the app thinks it is F-minor even when I correctly set the key. If I hand my chart to someone who doesn’t read numbers, this could be an issue onstage. I’d love to see this fixed, but otherwise I’m enjoying the app. ### 4/5 — Typing keyboard on iPad *2025-08-02, version 2.3* Hello, love the app. I used to use your old Nashville Fonts in the day. But… *2024-09-20, version 2.3* I’ve found this app to be very useful when it comes to making and keeping charts. The only issue I have is that there’s no hand-written annotation support. I’m a drummer, and having my charts annotated is a must when I play with people. I really would like to make my charts, annotate them, and read them while playing, all within the same app. It’s very unfortunate that my only options are either to print them out and annotate the paper, or export them and annotate the PDFs. It would be so useful to do everything all together. I’ve been using it for quite a while and do all my session and live work on it. It’s definitely a time saver and makes great looking charts. I’d love to see an update that allowed greater ability to write rhythmic and musical lines with numbers over it for signature licks or fills or solos. Thanks guys. I use deepdish gig book for most things, but Ive been depping with a number if wedding bands...i think your app finally gives me the flexibility I need ti creat charts quickly and easily.
