### 3/5 — Time of day filter is stuck

*2025-10-27*

With the latest update, it’s impossible to remove the Morning/Afternoon/Evening filter, which makes it cumbersome to see all the classes in a single day. I hope they will fix this. Also, the type is very small and low contrast so its tricky to tell what is a link sometimes.

### 2/5 — Filters on the appp

*2025-10-25, version 5.10.0*

Rebel the new filters: morning, afternoon or evening should be optional not mandatory, can you update the app please. It’s not functional

### 1/5 — Maddeningly glitchy

*2025-04-07, version 5.1.1*

Ever since 1Rebel rolled out a major refresh of the app a few months ago, it’s been super glitchy. The most recent update makes it so hard to get to the class schedule page, and even when you do get there, it’s impossible to book a class as the page is just greyed out. Can’t believe that a major fitness chain has screwed up their primary customer interface so badly - someone needs to take ownership of this mess and fix it quickly.

### 1/5 — Glitchy app

*2025-04-07, version 5.1.1*

The “book” page has been a blank screen for multiple days no matter how many times I reset the app

### 2/5 — Good gym, garbage app

*2025-04-07, version 5.1.1*

The app is rubbish. Slow, janky, and often doesn’t work at all.

### 1/5 — Can’t book a class

*2025-04-06, version 5.1.1*

Class booking functionality no longer works after most recent update

### 1/5 — Most recent update means I can’t book a class

*2025-04-04, version 5.1.1*

Thanks 1rebel 👏🏻

### 1/5 — Soo bad

*2025-04-04, version 5.1.1*

Does any of your developers ever try stuff before publishing?

### 2/5 — This app was better before the change

*2025-03-12, version 5.0.1*

I don’t know why you had to fix something that wasn’t broken.
Issues now:
Can’t log in for a loooong time
Can’t see the full class layout when booking
Lagging

### 1/5 — New app is terrible

*2025-03-11, version 5.0.0*

The new app is possibly the worst app I’ve ever used. Every time I open it, it either takes forever to load or it gets stuck completely and I have to close it and try again. The font is tiny, the buttons small, and the whole experience of booking a spot is annoyingly long with having to confirm a spot, then confirm that I want to use my membership and then skipping the shake every time. Booking a spot should be a single action with a single button.

### 1/5 — New app is so poor

*2025-03-10, version 5.0.0*

As with the other reviews, the new app is very glitchy and at least triples the time it takes to book a class. All the stats about how many classes I’ve done/booked are incorrect 😂 But my biggest issue is that many classes don’t show unless you constantly refresh. Means I’ve missed out on free spaces or thought some studios were closed for the day..

### 1/5 — App Update

*2025-03-06, version 5.0.0*

I’m not being funny but please fix the issues and also address your customers. The silence and lack of learning from feedback is commercially so stupid. It’s not hard. Just do better. You have so much helpful feedback that are all quick wins. Just do it……

New update is very bad! So overwhelming, way too much information that is not easily distinguishable. I used to love being able to easily see what workouts i have booked for a week, now it’s all merged and messy. Makes the app very inaccessible. Such a shame!
The filtering is also very poor, and you also can’t easily see which days of the week you are booking you just have to know the date. Also can’t see any opportunity to go onto waitlists, which was the best part of Rebel. Big missed opportunity to create a better app that is user friendly. Feels like nobody tested this interface before it was launched. Hoping they spend some time refreshing this again as the app is now very off putting.

### 1/5 — Endless frustrations

*2025-02-25, version 5.0.0*

Ever since the system switch everything has become a worse experience! App rarely functions; for a couple of weeks I was booking classes on the assumption Holborn wasn’t doing morning classes, as a glitch only lets you see classes from 6:15pm onwards - only to realise if I kept refreshing the app the morning slots would show; you can also no longer see where you are on the waitlist which makes it impossible to prepare for a class that you might be able to attend so I no longer sign up to them, which means given how oversubscribed classes already are I’m going to fewer classes as a result, because I can’t risk the extremely punitive cancellation charge you impose (which by the way, is grossly unfair especially for someone with an unlimited membership and if they experience circumstances beyond their control).

Also if anyone is reading this responsible for the Pilates classes - we’ve been begging you forever to please actually teach Reformer Pilates. You have the reformer Pilates equipment. You’re 99% there. No one asked for a HIIT style Pilates class - literally no one. We don’t want to row, do endless squats and planks and bicep curls in a Pilates class. We want to do challenging, engaging flows with actual breathing techniques. But of course you don’t really explain that you don’t offer actual reformer Pilates, not until someone’s unwittingly signed up to a 12 month membership anyway…

Anyway safe to say, it’s all becoming a bit of a headache. Looking for alternatives.

### 2/5 — New app awful

*2025-02-18, version 5.0.0*

It’s been glitchy for months now …. Come on 1Rebel

### 3/5 — New App is Super Glitchy!

*2025-02-12, version 5.0.0*

Style over substance at the moment, theres a frustrating disconnect between the app and the rebel system. The waitlist slots and emails don’t seem to work, you’ll be added to slots on the rebel system but the app doesn’t acknowledge this, you’ll then lose credits cancelling your waitlist slot and have to go through a whole palava of calling them to reinstate these. I’ve also been noted as a no show for classes on my app that I’ve actually attended but luckily haven’t been charged a no show fee.

### 2/5 — 5.0 - Still not there

*2025-02-07, version 5.0.0*

Great that it now remembers my regular location. Still have to dismiss a notification about notifications every time I open the app. Still crashes. Still doesn’t show days alongside dates unless in calendar view. And.. the room map is still huge! I’ve seen so many people comment on these.

### 1/5 — Terrible since update

*2025-02-05, version 4.0.9*

As above, the app was perfectly functional but is now overly difficult to use, glitchy and the user interface is off-putting. For example, you now cannot see the layout of a class without either manually scrolling all four corners or pressing a pop-up which you then have to exit to book your space. Listen to those who actually use the app and reverse the unnecessary update.

### 1/5 — Old version was better

*2025-02-05, version 4.0.9*

Takes ages to open!

### 1/5 — Update actively dissuades use

*2025-02-02, version 4.0.9*

The new update unfortunately doesn’t qualify as an update- it’s a degrade. App rarely gets past opening screen and, like now, I’ve given up on trying to book my classes for the week ahead. Agree that the studio map is clunky and poorly formatted too- but at this rate, I’d be pleased to even reach that stage!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Please remove time selection

*2025-12-01, version 5.13.0*

The app recently introduced a time section option which makes choosing classes a very frustrating process.

### 1/5 — Please get rid of time selection

*2025-11-24, version 5.13.0*

The new feature of timings is very annoying please can you make it either optional or remove altogether

### 1/5 — Turn off Morning-Afternoon-Evening filter or option to exclude!

*2025-10-30*

Turn off Morning-Afternoon-Evening filter or option to exclude!

### 1/5 — Painful app

*2025-10-27, version 5.10.0*

The new time of day filter makes booking very painful as it opts to the current time of day (afternoon if you are looking at the schedule in the afternoon). You cannot choose multiple times of day or turn off the filter entirely - it’s incredibly unhelpful when booking for future sessions at various times of day.

### 1/5 — Good gym, terrible app

*2025-10-24, version 5.10.0*

Payments in app still glitchy despite updates, session dates / times switch between screens making it easy to book the wrong sessions, and now a new feature that defaults the schedule to the time of day right now - so booking in the evening for tomorrow morning is now less smooth. Don’t understand the app development choices at all.

### 1/5 — Mark Bell

*2025-10-24, version 5.10.0*

Great gym. Ruined by a terrible app that just the worst! Every update the app gets worse and worse. The am / PM / Evening filter makes searching so much longer than it needs to be. Fine offer it as a filter, but not compulsory. So stupid. Please change back.

### 1/5 — Absolutely abysmal app

*2025-10-19, version 5.9.0*

The update of this app is a joke. It simply doesn’t work. The days of the week do not correctly align with classes, you cannot effectively scroll through the classes as you can only compare two gyms at once. Considering how expensive memberships are, you would think they’d put a little time into ensuring the app is functional.

### 1/5 — Worst app

*2025-08-26, version 5.7.0*

A year on after a so called upgrade and it’s still the slowest app I’ve got by a long way. Takes aggggges to book a class. Bring back the old app if you can’t implement an upgrade. Miserable to use.

### 1/5 — Anonymous

*2025-04-08, version 5.1.1*

Booking page is blank since upgraded.

### 1/5 — Terrible update

*2025-04-08, version 5.1.1*

I used to absolutely love this app, it was so convenient for booking classes - I was made to update it and now a blank screen shows on the “book class” section (essentially the most important page of an app designed to book classes!) so it’s essentially unusable!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Futuristic gym

*2025-10-06, version 5.8.0*

Honestly one of the best gyms I’ve been to. The equipment is top tier and everything feels brand new. They even provide clean towels and shower gel, which made the whole experience feel like I was in a 5-star hotel. The atmosphere was great too amazing vibe, friendly staff, and just an overall sick experience. Definitely recommend it.

### 5/5 — Works well

*2024-11-28, version 3.0.14*

Easy to book classes and order shakes

### 5/5 — Makes booking so easy

*2024-10-23, version 3.0.14*

The 1Rebel app is fab for booking classes. Much easier to navigate than the actual website in terms of selecting studios / trainers etc when searching for what you want to do. Also great for keeping track of what you’ve booked! And I love the little stats feature (although the calories burned bits is ridiculously over estimated… but I’m not that interested in that anyway)! Anyway, it’s a great app.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2024-10-21*

Such a convenient app

### 5/5 — Very easy to use and no glitches

*2024-09-23*

As the title suggests, the app is perfect. No improvements necessary

### 5/5 — Easy to use and serves the purpose

*2024-09-01, version 3.0.13*

The app works great and has the bare minimum that one may need to manage their workouts, no extra noise which is good. I would just add more visibility to waitlists: what’s the maximum number of people you enroll in waitlists, how much of it was taken etc. as right now it’s impossible to understand the odds of getting into a class if you’re on a waitlist.

### 5/5 — Love the 1Rebel concept and the app works great

*2024-08-22, version 3.0.11*

The trainers are all friendly and motivated, clearly have a passion for what they do. Plenty of encouragement during class but not the macho judgy stuff. Workouts are TOUGH, but you definitely feel the benefit after. Just gotta get your head into the right mind space and you’ll love it.

Booking at peak times like 6:30/07:15 are often fully booked, but that’s just due to it’s popularity I guess.

App is super quick and handles last minute booking perfectly. It has 95% functionality of the website version, the other 5% I’m happy with staying on the website (so I can check how many are on the waitlist and weigh up my odds).

The app works in Dubai too, although UK membership credits don’t work over there, and presumably not in Australia.

Lastly, in my humble opinion the cleaners are silent hero’s of the operation. All of the locations I frequent are always super-clean and fresh. Bravo to the housekeeping team.

Overall a slick operation and I would recommend

### 5/5 — User friendly!

*2024-07-31, version 3.0.11*

User friendly and easy to navigate

### 5/5 — Accessible for all features

*2024-07-29, version 3.0.11*

Love how you can view all classes and styles on one slide - ashame the booking system goes so quick !! first come first served always seem to catch me under my feet haha !

### 5/5 — Easy to use interface, with little to no glitches

*2024-07-08, version 3.0.11*

Great app, has all the features you would expect without going overboard. Most importantly very user friendly.
