### 4/5 — Well done

*2014-08-22, version 1.0.1*

Solid play control. Understood rules/die rolls after a couple of games. Definitely more user friendly than Blood Bowl. Would like to be able to see all the faces of the yardage dice to help gauge choice of plays though

### 3/5 — Not sure about this one

*2014-08-15*

Developer needs to add a 'scout opponent' function. The fact that you don't know anything about the opponents defense, passing, or running rating is really lame. This game begs for stats tracking.

### 3/5 — Nice first version

*2014-08-14*

But please give us better stat tracking and ability to view the dice rolls before they disappear.

### 4/5 — Great Reproduction of the Original

*2014-08-14, version 1.0.1*

The board game is probably one of the best football game in the category. The digital version holds true to form. I only have two big issue. First it would be nice to see a chart of the expansion teams dice. Secondly if you wanted to get all expansions it gets a little expensive. Otherwise great game!

### 3/5 — Fun so far...

*2014-08-14*

The game is enjoyable so far. However, please implement the option to slow and/or stop the dice from disappearing. The game is difficult to learn and understand if the dice are removed before I can even read them. Part of the fun of this game is the dice rolling, but it is being ruined by the speed of the game.

### 3/5 — Great conversion

*2014-08-12, version 1.0*

Great game that still needs a few bugs correcting. The fonts are nearly too small to read, like the numbers on the cards. Also, my first game froze at half time and I'm unable to continue the game even if I restart. Looks good but these issues do need to be corrected. Will rate higher with updates.

### 1/5 — Bad rolls are insane, don’t bother

*2019-10-01*

App is a good implementation but the incredible tendency for computer rolls being positive and yours being negative outcomes is amazing. I sadly charted the rolls of a few games just to see outcomes to see if what I thought was happening was and it’s almost unreal how often you’ll get penalties and turnovers or just general negative outcomes vs computer rolls. Don’t get this app.

### 1/5 — Nice concept...

*2016-11-29*

Poorly executed.

### 1/5 — Horrible game

*2014-10-27*

I love football and have coached for almost 20 years at the high school level. This may be the worst football game I have ever played. It is nothing more then a glorified game of rock-paper-scissors. The play selection is random, and ultimately meaningless.

### 2/5 — A good start but needs fine tuning and a price drop

*2014-12-07*

For the people who say it's too simple- once you get a few games played, you'll learn there's a lot more depth to the game if you pay attention to the details of the play cards.

It's weak on the content side, as the cards and plays available to you are pretty limited unless you buy the IAP.
For $5 you should get more of the teams from the IAP, otherwise all the teams feel the same.

### 3/5 — Tiny graphics, no stats. Why?

*2016-03-25*

Poor use of screen realestate. Dice are still too small. They have no sound effects. The play cards are barely readable. Again, too small. The field shrunk. And STILL; no lifetime stats for games played, total rushing yds, avg per game, etc. Typical lifetime or season stats; none. We get season wins/losses and nothing else. LAME. Unacceptable for a game like this.

And btw, PLEASE adjust the game so the ball marker stick shows where the ball is. It should move as the ball moves. In this game, the ball marker moves ONLY when you get a first down. The first down marker should behave this way (and it does). But the other stick should move to show where the ball is spotted. Anyone who knows football should understand this.

The standings screen; also poorly displayed. Arrange the data like you see wins/losses in any newspaper; a table with 3 columns, sorted by wins, descending order...

TEAM WINS LOSSES
... 10 1
... 8 3
... ... ...

And ADD a few more columns, like points scored, scored against.
Look at any sports website. Look at a standings table. This game looks as if it was developed by someone who's never really followed the game.

Regarding gampley; pretty good. Plays like the real game accept on an iPhone, this is difficult to play; everything is too tiny, and no dice sounds is just odd. Every iOS game I've played that uses dice has dice sound effects!

Online play; not interested. Wasted effort imho.

### 3/5 — Everything small...

*2016-03-25*

I had rated this game 4 stars but i must lower the rating after the last update. Yes online was added but the overhaul of the graphics making everything so small to see was a HUGE mistake!

### 3/5 — Good game. Needs some updates

*2014-09-28*

The base game is really solid. Dies a good job simulating football. The IAP should be include IMO. The game also needs some update. The game and results feels slow and I wish they were faster. The game also needs a forfeit or concede option in season mode. Riding a game out to the end when you are getting blown out or up by a ton is dull.

### 3/5 — Good game needs a patch

*2014-08-22*

Good game like the board game. Needs patch which fixes the app crashing if podcast is playing.

### 3/5 — Good, but better AI please

*2014-08-21*

This game is a complete guessing game. There are no real football odds for plays, so strategy doesn't really work. 3rd and 25? The AI calls a run defense. There just doesn't seem to be any thought besides random for the computer calls. I love it otherwise, though we need stat tracking and a leaders page for season play.

### 3/5 — Good Start

*2014-08-18*

This review is geared towards those who already have the board game.

It is a faithful rendition of the game. Like other reviewers, I take issue with the dice disappearing. Plus sometimes I notice the dice change numbers. The AI taking forever to make a decision. Personally the main thing that is lacking is the ability to go back and see what plays have been called. That is something that ought to be easy to look at trends in opponent’s play calls.

I hope in the future these issues can be remedied so I can raise my rating.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great game

*2016-11-01, version 3.0.1*

Yes, great game. Better sound would add to the atmosphere, and finding an online game is impossible, but there's enough here for board game fans to enjoy for the price.

### 5/5 — Even Better

*2016-03-26, version 3.0.1*

Great new update
Better graphics and online play.
Feel free to ad me to play
My user is Malice

### 5/5 — Touchdown!

*2014-12-25*

Great football strategy board game; I'm not a big fan of IAPs, but this game is even better with the expansion card sets. Definitely worth the $$$.

### 5/5 — Very nice game.

*2014-10-12*

The only issue I have is when playing the game on my 5th gen iPod, I have a hard time reading the cards and seeing the play on the field. A zoom feature would be nice. :)

### 5/5 — Well done Boardgame conversion

*2014-09-22, version 1.1.6*

Plays quickly with many options for solo play, including seasons and quick knock outs. Fun to play, will be even better when online play arrives, but is excellent value even now.

### 5/5 — Excellent boardgame conversion

*2014-08-16*

This game is fantastic! The complaints about graphics are silly. They look sharp and are cards and dice, not the full motion action of a madden-like video game. The translation from boardgame to ios is superb and a lot of fun!

### 5/5 — Excellent Game

*2014-08-14*

This is a translation of a physical board game into a digital one. And I will say it is an excellent translation. I have never played the physical game but I was able to pick up how to play without any problems after reading the 'How to Play' section. Everything about this app is top notch, my only complaint would be that I don't mind reading the rule book, but some may be put off by the lack of a real tutorial. However that is a VERY minor complaint as if you are a football fan you should have no problem picking this up. I can't recommend this game enough!

### 4/5 — Took about 10 games before I turned the corner on this one

*2019-10-25*

Initially it felt a lot like luck based rock/paper/scissors but then as I began use the slight variations of the defenses and offenses and I purchased and expansion the game became more enjoyable.
Still this is an abstraction of football but accounting for that it has become a very fun app to play.

### 4/5 — Custom teams?

*2017-04-03, version 3.0.1*

Would have given this game 5, but the option for using custom teams in leagues doesn't work despite it saying "tap twice to use custom teams". Get this sorted and I'll be a happy man.

### 4/5 — Great game play, needs online

*2014-08-29*

They did a great job translating the board game to iOS! I love the graphics of the plays and it computer can put up a decent challenge. The only thing stopping it from being a 5 star game is lack of online play, I hope future updates at it.
