The new one looks nice but doesn’t present large collections well. There is no filing system, the collection is presented on a single page, out of order. Search is unreliable and the filter doesn’t update correctly. I find it really hard to browse through my progs. Please do better. ### 2/5 — Super buggy *2025-03-30* I couldn’t read a single page of comic, it jumps pages, reloads constantly and just doesn’t feel like a finished app. Fortunately I only downloaded a free comic. ### 2/5 — Glitchy *2025-01-16* Started buying the prog digitally several months ago and to say this app is unreliable would be being kind. There’s been several occasions where payment has been taken but the prog is in available to download to my library. This weeks again, clicked buy and confirmed payment. Say unable to verify payment yet takes payment and Prog remains at ‘Buy’ and not in library. Customer services are always really helpful and it’s sorted eventually, but should not have to contact them so often. ### 1/5 — Godawful app *2024-12-01, version 5.1.0* Not worthy of this great comic. Hangs, jumps pages, terrible to navigate, like a bad app pre 2000. ### 1/5 — Recent update *2024-10-25, version 5.0.9* Keeping it pure and simple -utter rubbish 🤬 ### 1/5 — App is broken altogether. Latest update makes no difference. *2024-10-09* Prog 2400 is the latest issue the app allows me to download despite having an active subscription. Previously downloaded issues from 2401 onwards don’t have the ‘Read’ footer when I look at the details page for each Prog, rendering the app useless and my sub worthless. ### 1/5 — Why Bother *2024-10-05* An utterly awful update. Always crashing, never saves bookmarks and only partially downloads the Meg. Why bother changing the App with is many issues. Need to urgently look into all the issues and correct them. For those of us with subscriptions Rebellion should be looking at issuing Compensation. ### 1/5 — Seems to be getting slower to the point of being unusable *2024-09-24* OK I have a 1st generation iPad Pro, but the app used to be simple but usable. The last few versions have been getting slower - maybe it will settle down, but as a comic reading app, I’d look elsewhere ### 1/5 — Can we go back to the old app? *2024-09-23* The new app just about works ok on my iPhone, but it’s terrible on my iPad. Many pages show up as speech bubbles only and it goes back to page one of the graphic novel that I’m reading quite frequently. ### 1/5 — Awful update *2024-09-22* This app update is dreadful, the last version was maybe a 2 star app but this is much worse. Problems I have found: 1. Continually getting signed out of my account (unlike any other apps on the system), this wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t that…. 2. You can only access your downloaded content if you are signed in. 3. Zooming in and then scrolling round the screen is awkward and constantly sticks. 4. Flipping between landscape and portrait mode loses the page you are on, usually dumping you at the end of the comic. Added to which since the new update I’ve found I’ve had to contact support frequently about why I can’t access latest editions that are part of the subscription I have paid for, maybe just a coincidence, who knows. Does anyone test things any more or do you just leave it to users to find flaws? ### 1/5 — A very disappointing Update *2024-09-14* An update this bugged should never have been released. Constantly logged out, unusable in portrait mode, moves the page when moving between portrait and landscape, all the purchases are dumped together rather than in directories, hard to see what’s new to purchase. The galaxies greatest comic deserves better. ### 4/5 — Almost there *2024-09-03* New update was not great as it caused issues with my already downloaded books so I had to uninstall and reinstall. Navigating my library of content is not good, I thought it worked well when you could see the books in series order. Also the settings to change how you can read the books should have that eye icon replaced with a cog when in a book and those settings should be accessible in the main app settings as well. One more issue is battery and time icons do not disappear and appear over what you are reading. Then even when you find what you own and download it, it does not show in your downloaded area. So frustrating trying to find what you want to read. It’s not even easy to browse for inspiration to buy a new read as the more titles area doesn’t even show the full content available! I was going to buy a new graphic novel to read today. Gave up as I couldn’t find what I wanted. Then decided to find an old read instead, couldn’t find what I had in mind to read as well! Even when you do a search, for example Dan Dare, the search does not find any of the Dan Dare Graphic novels. Search for Insurrection and it only shows you Insurrection Liberty, book 2, not book 1. I own both but can’t find both. Search for Kingdom, only shows a couple of the graphic novels, search for the Last American, couldn’t find it at all, search for Xtnct! No chance!! Needs more work and I’m not putting money into this until my previous comics come back. ### 1/5 — Comic good... *2024-08-17, version 5.0.5* app so bad suspect a joke... quite possibly the worst have ever come across ### 1/5 — v5.0.5 made things worse *2024-08-16* A browse/library interface that limits how you can filter, removes sorting by time (or any method at all), truncated descriptions, and reading the comics is painfully slow with occasional jumping of pages. Previous versions did not have this issue. I may be pulling the PDFs for a better user experience. ### 2/5 — 2 steps forward, 1 step back *2024-08-15* This is regarding the Aug 24 update; here’s improvements, but still a long way to go. Only half of my library shows up when browsing, have to physically search for the rest. You have to log in EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU OPEN THE APP. And as a result of the constant logging in it doesn’t save where you have been reading. Trying to navigate to the next issue I want to read is impossible. When progs are displayed in the library, the actual prog number isn’t shown in the title making the title useless for navigating through your library. There doesn’t seem to be a way to search for unread material. When I search for downloaded issues, I can’t then sort on date. My subscription is about to expire and I won’t renew. I remember reading Dredd Block/Apocalypse Wars as an 11/12 year old, amazed at all the full colour spreads in each issue, studying each picture intimately - repeating the words over and over in the voices I gave each character. Almost didn’t download the Apocalypse Wars graphic novel ( took a while to find it, though ) as I didn’t wanna spoil my childhood memories, but OMG so glad I did. All the covers, all the spreads, full colour, 200+ amazing pages, no messing around, the whole thing, nothing missing, it’s all there, so many memories relived after 40 years. I’m no expert but kinda wonder at how these images have been scanned so perfectly, seems HD me, zoom in, zoom out all perfect. Next on my list is Judge Death, Flesh, Rogue Trooper and more. Thank you for this excellent app, so very cool. ### 5/5 — Not showing your active subscription? Try this *2022-07-30, version 4.8.8* I was locked out of the weekly comic. Logging out and back in again didn’t solve it. But I think I’ve found a fix. I force quit the 2000 AD app, went into Settings and changed my subscription to a different length. (If I was on 3 monthly I changed it to monthly.) Then I restarted the app and it recognised my weekly subscription I’ve been reading 2000 AD all my life and I will read it for the rest of my life. This is the easiest way to keep up to date with your 2000AD subscription. They listen to their customers and always have some kind of deal going on. From their huge digital back issue collection to their graphic novels at very cheap prices. Great way to keep yourself entertained each week with so much fantastic content.
