### 2/5 — Did pass

*2015-09-28*

I 2nd what the previous person stated. Helpful tool, but lacks up to date and comprehensive material.

### 2/5 — Question bank needs updating

*2015-07-05*

Love these apps for test prep, used it for PPL, IR, and CPL. The app for FOI however does not have all the questions that are on the FOI written.

### 1/5 — Not to be trusted.

*2011-08-30*

A terrible app for studying for the FOI. Along with not being able to review missed questions in test mode, it is clearly missing all of the recently updated FAA questions. Do not trust this app.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2011-08-08*

In study mode, the questions should constantly revolve. Not show the same questions in the same order every time.

In test mode after clicking "grade" and then trying to select a question answered wrong, it takes you to whatever question you were last on. Not the question you clicked on.

All in all this is not a very professional app and the price is way too high for something this inadequate.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Incorrect questions

*2022-01-10*

Don’t waste your time I just took the 2022 FOI and got a 74. I was consultant 96-98 on the app. Only 2 questions from the study guide were on the test of 50 questions. Don’t waste a dime on this it’s not current.

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2017-01-15*

Annoying bug whereby in 'Test' mode, clicking on a question (in the grading screen) marked wrong takes you back to the question but displays the wrong list of possible answers.

### 1/5 — Not Worth the Money!

*2015-11-13*

Way too basic, it's a failed attempt at simple regurgitations of test questions and answers. For this high priced app, they should have at least included the entire book text.

### 1/5 — Amateur Effort at an App

*2015-10-26*

Beyond being a really simplistic rehash of questions & answers, when they updated the database recently apparently the wizards at “Tekk Innovations” didn’t alpha-test their own work. When you try to update the app it crashes & says their URL cannot be found. So I guess I’ll just delete the entire mess from my computer and move on.

Hey Tekk Innovations, are your computer-engineering student loans reimbursable if enough people say you got ripped off by whatever paper mill issued them to you? COUNT MY VOTE!

### 1/5 — Mikenrs

*2014-11-14*

This app is simply a question regurgitation. It should be free since they developed nothing. ASA prepware includes explanations which mitigates counterproductive struggling. I have both and sorry I paid for this.

### 1/5 — Not the best

*2014-09-29*

The app doesn't have a simulated test mode so you can see where you stand. Nor does it explain the answers to aid you in learning. Unfortunately I cannot find another fundamentals of instruction app!

### 1/5 — FOI

*2014-09-24, version 1.99.4*

The answers are different from the actual FOI test don't buy this

### 1/5 — Poor quality

*2012-04-28*

Suggestions for improvement:
1 give explanations for answers, and location of source.
2 shuffle questions

### 1/5 — Poo

*2012-02-23*

I would gladly take back the $7 I spent on this horrible app and assbong it.

### 1/5 — Junk update

*2012-01-28, version 1.87.2*

I'm a rotorcraft pilot attempting to pass the FOI. The update that they do is a worthless. It will display the correct answers to the first question only. Once you answer that question is locks in the answers for every other question. Ie. answer a,b,c are the same for every question. In both study mode and test mode. Keep your money. The app doesn't even bother to tell you why the answer you selected is correct or wrong in any "mode". When I sent feedback to the company expressing my opinion on a "update" they said its coming. However I've had the app for well over 3 months and I still haven't see that update. I'm disappointed.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Just what I needed!

*2017-09-10*

There are multiple apps for CFI ground, but this is the first I found focusing specifically on FOI. Simple interface, useful options, and does exactly what you need it to for studying the FOI. Highly recommended for anybody prepping for the test!

### 5/5 — Very good I love it

*2014-07-11*

It's the best app to study thank you so much

When are you going to make one for ATP 121 we need it so bad before the end of the month

### 4/5 — 🫶🏻

*2025-11-17*

Great for studying for instructor rating PMI test casa

### 4/5 — 100% or pass?

*2018-06-27*

I’ve been studying this for weeks now. I was scoring consistent 95% or higher. Yesterday a 98% and this morning just before my test another 98%. I just took the actual test and scored an 88%... I’m happy I passed but not too excited about my score. Most of the questions are worded differently. I gave it 4 stars because if you master this app, I would bet you will pass and earn over 80%

### 4/5 — Just got 98% on my FOI test

*2018-05-06*

+ 289 questions in their data base, which is more than KingSchool has, for instance.
- About 5 questions at least are repeating, two questions have absolutely contradicting right answers.
- In my written exam there were about 8 questions which were not presented in this app. Many other questions were re-worded, but close enough to instantly answer them.
- In this app there are no explanations for the answers.
+ In this app you can mark questions and in the end overview all the marked questions.
- You can’t overview the questions you answered wrong unless you marked them.
+ Overall it is a pretty good application for its money, helped me a lot. I just would recommend to read a book on the side as well.

### 4/5 — Nice app, does what it is supposed to do

*2010-11-06*

Very nice application, it does what it is supposed to do. The only reason I didn't put 5 stars is that there are 3 questions that have incorrect answers. Moving forward, it would be nice to have a summary of correctly/incorrectly answered question, as well as explanations of why an answer is correct or incorrect.

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2009-07-31*

It's very easy to use and is really helping me prep for the FOI, I hope they make one for the CFI as well!

### 3/5 — ASA is better

*2016-12-31*

I bought this app because I thought it may be similar to ASA's products and it is but I still prefer ASA's prepware products. Not as many explanations or in depth explanations in this app either.

### 3/5 — FAA FOI

*2010-12-07*

Overall, good app, as noted in other reviews, there are a few questions that have wrong answers keyed in. Needs updates for the 2011 question bank as used in the actual test, as the language has changed for a few questions. Good tool to use to review.

### 3/5 — Just a review

*2009-10-16*

Questions are what they should be. What an "update" should include is: a record of correct&incorrect answers, flash card option, and option to put in your own questions/notes. Usefull but limited.
