I had to re download to get it to work again. ### 2/5 — Crashes! *2023-11-06* Worked and then would now open. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Same thing. Worked a few times and now does not open. It crashed unless you reboot your phone. The map tracking, the spilt showing and the notices are seriously out of sync. What could they have been thinking? Clearly a case of poor project management. Not only is this app flawed, but it makes me wonder who would hire Tata for business system development. ### 2/5 — Difficult day for the app *2023-11-06* Very disappointing performance of this app today. I’m sure the number of users impacted the tracking ability but after the first hour, we could no longer follow our runners. The app is not reloading now so I hope there is a fix. It wouldn’t even open and just crashed every time. My friend experiences the same thing. The latest version for NYC Marathon 2022 was slow on updating the runners positions causing me to miss seeing loved ones because they ended up being 0.2 miles away. Interacting with the app involves way too many clicks for simple functionality —> the app is only dedicated to one event and only needs to do 4 or 5 things, but makes it such a hassle ### 1/5 — NYRR needs to fire the app developer or person b/c of day zero update *2023-11-05* I spent 2 HOURS last night adding all of the people I want to track. You roll out an update THE DAY IF THE RACE and now the app crashes and everyone has to delete and reinstall the app losing their tracking data. No IT professionals worth any salt would ever do that. Ridiculous. The 10% of the time the app worked, the tracking was WAY off. I understand that there must be some logic involved for estimating exactly where runners are between mile markers but the logic clearly was horrendous – I found it to be off by around 5 minutes. If a runner is consistently running at 8 min per mile pace, the logic should be close to that, not putting the runner ahead by 5 minutes. ### 1/5 — Needs more server capacity *2023-11-06* This app was pretty useless the first few hours of the marathon when a lot of people were using it. It would either close or give a can’t connect to server message. This hasn’t happened in past years. Maybe the new video options? Whatever it was, the primary job of this app is to help us find our friends and cheer for them, and it didn’t do that job. You need to make that work next year. I am one and not sure why it doesn’t let me in since this morning - app crashes and the message is the latest after removing the app and reinstalled. Please fix and advise. Day of race, in the morning I checked the information, but once the race started it did nothing but crash.
