23 & me was good like 7+ years ago however everytime i update the app more and more features become locked and can only be used by “premium users”. For example a couple of days ago I could access parental inheritance, after updating the app it has now been locked and is a feature for those who pay a subscription!? Not only should it be free but even if customers have parents who already put their dna on their it should be free for them to see their inheritance or other features! I only update it to see the new “DNA relatives” however this has put me off for good!

I got my 23andMe kit about 3 years ago. This is an expensive kit to start with and now everything is an upgrade you have to buy. You have to pay to see additional relatives which was the whole point of buying the kit. Total waste of money.

I was gifted a kit that came with a year subscription, yet I still have to enter payment details to use any of the features? Scummy move banking on people forgetting to cancel their subscription to make more money off them.

I’ve used 5 different DNA services. 4 of the 5 have results showing similar genetic makeups, but 23andMe is the only one that is wildly different. They refuse to retest the DNA and to even check their algorithm. There should NOT even be an algorithm since DNA results are hard scientific data. If you want to waste your money, paying someone to fart while juggling and riding a unicycle is better than spending it at 23andMe just to get incorrect results.

You’re always asking to upgrade. You’re a multi billion industry. Give people who have paid for their dna to you! Give them all their information and stop begging for more money. Hugely greedy in my opinion. Sort your business program. We don’t want upgrades we’ve already paid! Shocking that you have to pay more for health information about my information. Such a turn off. Not recommended at all. I use another site that doesn’t want upgrades just to tell you basic information. Shocking!
