### 3/5 — Decent workouts

*2026-10-29, version 2.4.0*

You can’t scrub 15 seconds ahead. There’s no pause button. Really sucks. Workouts are pretty good, but this ancient technology doesn’t cut it.

### 2/5 — Great app

*2026-10-25, version 2.4.0*

Great app but they changed it so none of the features are free. Kind of heartbreaking but I get it.

### 4/5 — Pretty good :)

*2026-10-23, version 2.3.1*

I like it. Use it everyday. Only thing is my periods are irregular and it automatically puts a period on the calendar when I haven’t had one yet so that’s a lil annoying but other than that I like it fairly well

### 3/5 — Imagery needs improved

*2026-09-27, version 2.2.1*

I love how the tracking your cycle part is, the supplement you should take according to what you need during that time of month and recipes, the workouts are great! But the imagery throughout the app are so immodest and skimpy it is hard to use the app. If this would be changed it would be a great app I could suggest

### 4/5 — Love it but

*2026-09-09, version 2.1.9*

I really really like this app. I’ve been using it for 1 year but why do us women have to pay $$$ for an app that’s for women’s cycle and nutrition! I get it, they have to make money but the $ for the membership is a little high imo so I’ve been using the free version but there’s certain things that I can’t even see or unlocked

### 2/5 — Not good

*2026-08-26, version 2.1.9*

The app was glitching (showing nothing) so I had to sign out and back in and now all my data is gone

### 4/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-20, version 2.1.7*

This app is great.

### 5/5 — Love love love.

*2026-08-07, version 2.1.5*

Literally a life-changing app. I can’t imagine not syncing my food and workouts to my cycle any more. 100% game changing.

### 3/5 — Used to be great, now it keeps glitching

*2026-08-06, version 2.1.5*

Used to really enjoy this app but a few months back, the calendar started showing period dates that were different from the dates i had saved. I reached out through email and they edited them for me and it seemed like it was back to working fine, but now i'm having the same problem again and when i try to fix the dates, the app somehow messes up the previous month's dates now so it's a never ending problem. Having to deal with all this led me to delete my account:(

### 4/5 — I’ve recommended it to 50+ women

*2026-07-31, version 2.1.5*

I’ve been using 28 for years, and I’ve recommended it to 50+ women. I’ve tried other cycle tracking apps, including Flo, but they always felt a little too gimmicky for me. 28 is simple, beautiful, and genuinely helps you understand your body instead of overwhelming you.

The recent updates have been fantastic I love the added details for insights. My only wish is that the daily insights were refreshed more often because I read them every morning and have practically memorized them by now.

More than just a period tracker, this app has helped me understand cycle syncing and how my hormones affect my energy, mood, workouts, and overall well-being. It honestly helps me show up as a better human. I recommend it to almost every woman I know.

### 5/5 — Love this Period tracker!

*2026-07-31, version 2.1.5*

Comprehensive science based insight into how your body works! It’s also beautifully designed and very reinforcing to look at!

### 3/5 — lack of diversity

*2026-07-30*

There isn’t a single POC working as an instructor on your app. Everyone is skinny minnie, only one body type… NO diversity it’s sad. Every photo for “aesthetic” is of a white woman. do better

### 3/5 — Glitchy

*2026-07-30, version 2.1.5*

I really enjoy this app, but it keeps logging me out and it’s always a hassle to get logged back in.

### 5/5 — 28 loves women!!

*2026-07-28, version 2.1.5*

Everything about the design and structure of this app was intentional and made to embrace your feminine. Highly recommend!

### 3/5 — Keeps logging me out

*2026-07-27, version 2.1.5*

Rly pretty and aesthetic with nice tips and advice for each phase. I like how it’s set up but I only really open it every month to log my period. Between each start date the app logs me out which is kind of annoying. Also powered by ai which kinda contradicts the connecting with nature energy that they’re going for.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2026-07-26, version 2.1.4*

I really love the app. There’s nothing out there like it with the messaging like this. It’s really glitchy sometimes though and that’s a bit frustrating for an everyday user.

### 5/5 — New update is amazing!!

*2026-07-25, version 2.1.4*

The new update is incredible!! I’m blown away. I was frustrated with the bugs for the past year but all of them seem to be resolved! also, the new functionality and design are just wow. GET THE NEW UPDATE!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Deleting

*2026-10-28, version 2.4.0*

This app was great before they put everything behind a paywall. I enjoyed using the free features and little incites but now that the entire app is behind a paywall aside from the cycle tracking I’m deleting it. No need for it and it’s too expensive. I understand the move but am frustrated EVERYTHING is behind the paywall.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-08-17, version 2.1.6*

Paid for it and the workouts stopped working. Also thought this was a woman ran app, not AI

### 1/5 — Frustrated

*2026-08-17, version 2.1.6*

I went through the setup process twice attempting to fill in all information required, as the app format and promised results were exactly what I was looking for. However I managed to log in and all of the information was wrong. Nothing I spent time filing in was accurate from both of my attempts. I tried creating an account both through Apple and through my personal email address, and both accounts were flawed. The settings are limited for adjusting cycle length and my view kept saying ‘this is taking longer than usual’ when I opened the app. Didn’t work for me, which is a huge shame because I really would benefit from an app like this. Seems like you spent more time photographing women in bikinis than you did making sure the coding and back-end tech works as it should. Do not recommend.

### 1/5 — Recipe Glitches

*2026-07-20, version 2.1.2*

Can’t access any recipes only one recipe with instructions is available under all meals. Every meal is the same recipe. Tried to do a 3 day free trial and immediately got charged for a whole year $39.99. I want a refund

### 1/5 — New update-disappointing

*2026-07-20, version 2.1.2*

I have been using the app for several years and absolutely loved it, bc it was by women for women and really helped me understand my body. But this latest update is not it. I hate the integration of AI (completely unnecessary and adds a huge level of distrust for me bc I now feel that I have to fact check everything), and the calorie counting is just an ED trigger. Also, the fact that an app that has been based around helping women understand what's unique about their bodies is integrating the BMI system, which is entirely based around male physicality and has been proven to be bogus on multiple fronts is straight up unacceptable. There are so many ways that nutritional tracking could have been implemented that would have been great. This isn't it. I don't think I can justify continuing to pay for the app with this.

### 1/5 — Women Sexualizing App

*2026-07-12, version 2.0.5*

I only tried the free features. The content is mostly basic information about the menstrual cycle.
What really put me off was the design. It's full of images of half-naked women in revealing swimwear and overly suggestive poses. I don't like the sexualization of women, and it doesn't feel like a supportive app for women. It feels more like an app designed for the male gaze than one created to help women.

### 1/5 — Good when it works

*2026-06-30, version 1.40.0*

UPDATE: So after writing this review and putting in multiple tickets with their support I just now get an email stating the issue was fixed. What about paying for a year of a service I lost out on several months of? I’m so fuming I refuse to use the app even though I paid.

I mistakenly purchased a year subscription. I couldn’t get my money back and that’s fine I came to terms with it because I like the app. However, the app hasn’t worked for months now. The loading bar won’t move unless I uninstall the app and reinstall it. I have contacted support twice and gotten no response. I’m very frustrated because I want to like the app

### 1/5 — changed my life - ruined by a paywall

*2026-06-30*

EDIT: the message below was my honest review of this app a few years ago… i found it during the height of my PCOS which we know is now called PMOS and it helped me get in tune with my cycle so i could start feeling more comfortable in my body. after years of using the app, they have decided to put almost every feature, now including the insights, behind a nasty greedy paywall. this was done before a while ago and i remember being so disappointed then and i continue to be disappointed. it is almost impossible for women to have access to effective and validating healthcare and while i am completely aware that this app is not a substitute for medical advice, it is still instrumental in helpful women understand their cycle and heal their cycle through information, nutrition, and exercise. i am several disgusted by how greedy and money hungry this platform would be to exploit women who are hoping to understand themselves a little more. shame on you.

original review: being someone with a uterus and menstrual cycle can be a very confusing and lonely experience even though most of it is quite universal. this app has changed my life. i’ve wanted an app where i can track which phase of my cycle i’m in beyond just menstruation and ovulation. besides that wonderful feature, i find the best part of the app are the daily insights. it’s always reassuring to read into why im feeling a particular way every morning i wake up. this morning i just felt incredibly sad and couldn't stop crying and my insights today were so enlightening in explaining my body, my hormones, and how that manifests in my energy, mood, etc. i love this app so much.

**Developer response:** Hearing that 28 helped you understand your cycle is exactly why we built it. We're shipping updates every few days to make this the best cycle app available to women, and there's a lot more coming. Email support@28.co and we'll make sure you're taken care of.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-06-29, version 1.40.0*

Update: I have now deleted this app. When you first look at the app it looks like it’s going to have a lot of features that are customizable. But it’s not. If you set your cycle to 28 days and your period starts a day early so you adjust the calendar, all historical data. Why would anyone want to do that? If you’re trying to get pregnant or going through perimenopause you don’t want your history changed. You’re trying to TRACK it.

Further, now all of the insights to mood, your body etc. are behind a lock and require a paid subscription.

The people running this app think they’re being smart by giving full access for free and slowly reducing the free inclusions. For some reason they think you’re going to now pay for the app. Wrong. It’s market manipulation and I won’t have it. There are better apps that are free and actually work better

Original review:

I have had a free membership to this app since its inception. Recently, the nutrition section is completely behind membership permissions and is no longer viewable. There have always been parts of the app that a paid membership was required to use. That’s to be expected. But it’s very disappointing when features that were once free are no longer. That pretty much reduces this app to keeping track of your cycle and a bit of peptalk. Hardly worth logging in.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-06-27, version 1.39.0*

Lies about the free version. Frequently has bugs that never get resolved. Doesn’t update so the days stay the same. It’s just terrible. I went to delete my account and it comes with an error message saying they can’t. What an awful data scamming useless app.
Hope this encourages everyone to go elsewhere!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — I rely on this app so much

*2026-10-20, version 2.3.0*

Truly my favorite health app. I share this with every woman I know. They’re constantly adding new features & improving upon it.

### 5/5 — Easy Cycle syncing

*2026-09-28*

I love the design and the app with each and every update gets better. I love the food and supplements recommendations the most

**Developer response:** Hearing that every update makes 28 better is exactly what we're going for! The food and supplement recommendations are something we put a lot of care into, so it means a lot that those stood out to you. Thanks for the kind words!

### 5/5 — In-app purchases

*2026-09-23*

I love using this app, it is such an eye-opener on the human body and even the mind. When I saw the advertisements for this app I thought I’d get to do free step by step workouts, but unfortunately they're premium only. It’s limited what you can see and do on this app without paying money. Although, what you can see and do for free is still fascinating and I’d say worth getting the app for. I went some time just using the free features until I trusted that they don’t just want to scam me out of my money. I can assure you this is no scam. I get far a better benefit then they do from my money. I am now paying for premium and I just want to say it’s so worth it. The amount of in depth understanding and plans specifically tailored to me is far beyond my expectations. There is only one thing I wish they included; which is what tea’s are recommended for each specific day in the cycle. Since I’m a tea fanatic🙃.

### 5/5 — Really dedicated team behind this app!!

*2026-09-14*

I’ve been a member for a while off and on, so I feel like I’ve witnessed a lot of the changes they’ve made and although before said changes, certain issues were annoying (it used to freeze and require a restart), but as with all apps, there are going to be growing pains. I log in today and see they’ve updated the entire nutrition panel since even a couple of months ago. I’m impressed, but you guys… please stop using AI images for the recipes! They are—if I may??—a bit creepy and misleading. The recipes are strong. I make them often. But I really appreciate a wellness app that is 100% authentic in all categories, including the images. It shows that the recipes offered are tested and refined over time. AI will never ever come close to real imagery. (Thank you for attending my TED Talk.)

Aside from that, I love love love love LOVE 28 and will remain a loyal member as long as they steer clear of the MAHA lunacy and share only real, research-backed information. 👏🏻

P.S. A more equal representation of all women would also be appreciated. 🫶🏻

### 5/5 — Best App

*2026-09-14, version 2.2.0*

Always improving. Tailored for whole women’s health/Goals. Informative. Aesthetic Design. Definitely worth the subscription.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-09-02*

Great app with daily insights, nutrition suggestions, recipes and workouts. The interface is also beautiful. Best way to learn about your body.

### 5/5 — Changed my life

*2026-08-25, version 2.1.8*

Just download it. You will be so shocked at what this app does for you! From the workouts to the recipes…. You will have the glow up of your life, and you will not have pms symptoms anymore. Just do it!

### 5/5 — A game changer for women!

*2026-08-25*

One of the most important apps on my phone, it has drastically improved my menstrual cycle experience by following the suggestions in each phase. Perhaps the best part for me is the workouts as a busy mum and business owner being able to do their workouts anytime anywhere with ease is so useful. Also, the grocery list just makes it so much easier than worrying about what I’ll make for dinner. Partner sharing also helps because my fiance knows what to expect and how to support me during each phase. Highly recommend !!!

### 5/5 — Beautifully done

*2026-08-24, version 2.1.8*

A game changer! Not only is the design beautifully calming and feminine, the information is inspiring while educational and well-sourced without being too clinical. I use it every morning as part of my routine, over coffee of course ;) I just feel better, feel supported, and don’t even get me started on the recipe rabbit holes…

### 5/5 — Every woman needs this

*2026-08-14, version 2.1.6*

Doctors will ignore us. But these things are what matters! It took me so many years to realize a lot of what I was experiencing wasn’t normal and could be treated naturally.
