great!

thanks for the update! its much better to configure now!

if anyones having troubles getting this to work, download uvnc and simply make sure the password on the iPhone is set exactly to the password on uvnc. i had so many troubles with other pc software!!

Incredible App... Almost.

Having GoToMyPC on an iPod Touch FOR FREE... Now that's just awesome. The app does everything it says it does. It was a bit difficult to set up, but when I saw it working, I was blown away. It does have a few problems, though. The screen refresh rate is VERY slow, so bye bye flash games on iPod. (Of course, I didnt expect that to be great.) Also, I don't think right clicking should be a paid feature. Finally, I wish there was a way to click and drag. I know that could be confused with scrolling, but I think there could be a switch between scrolling and dragging.

Not perfect.

I managed to connect my 3Gs to my imac in about 30 seconds with this app and it works great considering it's free! I could open and close programs, look at files, and even type in pages. Didn't have a problem with the keyboard interface or using the mouse (although scrolling is a nightmare).

I tried to do the same thing on my windows 7 laptop, but it wouldn't connect... I'm not sure if this is a compatibility issue or not. I also attempted to access my mac over 3G but the connection just timed out.

To be honest, asking this kind of service from a free app is a lot, and I think it definitely does a good job considering this. All the people who are complaining about the little glitches associated with this app should probably just spend the Β£15 and get LogMeIn Ignition or iTeleport. Then at least when there are issues with performance etc, you will actually have the right to be annoyed.

Great app, indispensable tool

This app works brilliantly to the built-in VNC client in OSX. With the iPhone 4, it handles my 1440x900 resolution screen with ease and provides exceptional clarity, making good use of the retina display. I find this one of my most useful apps, and if I ever want to connect to a windows pc, I'll not hesitate to purchase the full version. My only niggle with this app was the appearance of the menu buttons, but I'm glad to have found there is an option to 'shake' and show/hide these.

I read another review which said there is no keyboard and it crashes a lot. I can honestly say it's never crashed on me, and there is a perfectly good keyboard built-in, although it would be nice to be able to have a numeric keypad, and arrow keys, but perhaps that's why I should buy the full version.

I occasionally use these guys free RDP app too, and if your a windows user, it's worth taking a look at.

Fantastic!

Mocha VNC Lite does exactly as it states. Connect directly to your base computer from your iPad with either WiFi or 3G and access any of your files for review, mailing or editing. This is definitely one of the best apps in the store. I'll be looking to purchase the full Mocha VNC for Mac soon. Very well done Mocha team. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

Brilliant

This is great works fine, as long as you configure your computer properly and the app it always works on both my Mac and my ubuntu machine, it's free too,! I think the people on here who say it don't work are just stupid and have no idea how to set this up. I would suggest you at least get your facts straight first because this is a good app. I hope people deciding to use this won't take those other silly techniphobic reviews! It's clear to me those people who open their mouths before actually looking to see if they got the settings correct first. Before you ask or assume I am not the developer, but I am a computer consultant and I use this everyday, at home and at work, and for nothing I hardly think this app is a "waste of space". Get your facts right first!! Well done developer! Top class!

Work fine

I downloaded this little app with some reservation due to all the negative reviews. I set up my MacBookPro to accept VNC connections in about 1 minute and logged onto it using this app about 2 minutes later!! The iPads screen resolution is less than your computer so obviously you'll have to scroll around a bit but the interface seemed to work ok over my local network.

I'm not exactly sure how to right click but then I probably need to RTFM. I was also able to connected to a horrible windows vista machine no problem. So anyone who says this FREE app doesn't work is probably not setting it up correctly.

Setting up any type of VNC server is going to require some reading and research (hint check your windows firewall setting, anti virus apps or router) unless you want to pony up $30 for those zero config apps so please read the bloody manual before you post negative comments or better still get your bespeckeled basement dwelling computer nerd cousin to help you!!! In years past I too have spent hours tooling around with routers and firewalls trying to get stuff like this to work so you have been warned !!!

VNC

I love it!! Free and it works great!! Just download VNC for your PC or Mac (free) input port number and IP address and your set!!

Great lite version, just migrated to paid version.

This Is a great app for remotely controlling any of your PC's or Mac at home or work. I have been using it to connect my iPad to my Mac Pro and Macbook when located in my office, and I can't be bothered to move from the sofa. The iPad's large screen makes viewing and navigating around my dual VDU systems a breeze.
I have just upgraded to the paid version, as I needed to be able to right-click the mouse and do some mouse pointer dragging. It does exactly what it is supposed to do, and I am definitely a very happy customer. I have previously used other VNC and remote desktop tools, but this is all I need. Highly recommended, and the paid version just adds more features. It doesn't get much better than this, and my iPad is much more productive because of this App.

Fantastic app works great

I have a Mac Mini that is headless that I use for a music server. The Remote app is okay but has limits. I already had VNC set up so I could access though my computer. I looked for the iPad remote version but it was the same as the one for the iPhone. Then I found this. I think most of the negative reviews are from people that don't fully understand how to set up VNC on their system or those that access across subnets or the internet which can be problematic for users that don't have experience with that aspect, I can't speak to those users, but if you use this on a local network and have VNC working on a computer this will set up in less than a minute, it is flawless. This is the best app I have downloaded yet.

As stated above, it took me less than a minute to get this to work on my system. I entered the IP address and password and it was up and running. There are also added benefits, if I want to see flash, I can VNC to the mini and enter the address and view over this. I really can't figure out why this would have any negative reviews. Now I have full access to itunes and everything else on my headless mini from my iPad. What a great app.

Edit to add, I am going to buy the full version but for free this is the best deal going.
