works great on my iPhone 11 syncing to my Windows laptop

after figuring out how to configure things and use the app properly, I found it to be very convenient. It works well and all functions work as designed.

Getting worse..

Used to be a great app, now slow sync and login issues. Paid for a year, waste of money. Can’t even contact support, says my password is wrong, it’s not! Refund please

I wish I wasn’t writing this

I’ve supported this app for many many years. 10+? But I find I’m always making excuses for it when it doesn’t work. I originally loved the flexibility of being able to assign any folder to the cloud. But, It’s not seemless. The app is constantly going offline, requiring me to manually reset it. And it hangs when I use it to grab files in Procreate. I don’t want to have to think about this tool. I just want to proceed with my work.

Syncs with desktop, but not iPhone

Have had this app for 10+ years and use it primarily for desktop cloud backup. That part works and files are synced and current, although iPhone problem doesn’t give me an overall “warm and fuzzy.”

Used to be able to access and download current desktop files to older iPhone SE. Now seems “frozen in time” when trying same with 2-year old iPhone 12 Mini. Desktop files showing available to the phone are 2+ years old, not the current ones. Suggestions from tech support 1 or 2 years ago did not solve the issue. It doesn’t have to be this hard. Will likely be looking for another option one of these days.

New version is great!

I nearly quit last year.
Fortunately my Mac and Windows and IPhone and IPad sync files automatically now!
Just as promised.

Good core, frustrating details

Sugar sync offers a core feature no other syncing service does; the ability to sync arbitrary folders on your computer rather than a specific special one. This is why I put up with the higher than usual price per GB of storage, and the frustrating bugs and lack of polish in especially the iOS apps.
Of particular note is how poorly the integration into the Files app works, which routinely fails to load the content of folders that load fine in the sugar sync app.
In conclusion, I continue to use sugar sync primarily because my subscription is locked in at a lower price from many years ago, and the unique feature set might not be worth it were I considering it at full price today.

Issue with photos

Not all of my photos in my iPhone will load to SugarSync. I have to manually select the missing photos and send them to SugarSync.

Two weeks with no access

Sugar sync recently had a major malfunction. Most accounts were inaccessible for two weeks. That’s right two weeks. If it was a couple hours or even a day I would understand, but they couldn’t get it resolved for over two weeks? It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’ve been a sugar sync customer for several years now, but that is unacceptable and I’m switching to something else. I would not recommend them.

Mobile APP Crashes constantly

Been trying to get it resolved for 2 weeks!!!!! DropBox doesn’t crash so might be moving everything to DropBox SugarSync is useless if my iPhone doesn’t connect to my files. Been crashing since June 2022 and no one in tech support has helped me.

I can’t depend on the files to be available to me on my iPhone.

Files don't sync.

Pretty disappointing that files from my Ipad no longer sync anymore. i hope the company figures out a solution soon, b/c I'm getting ready to drop my subscription.
