Update: Crashes all the time
With the new IOS 13 on an iPhone XR, TTS crashes constantly now. It doesn’t matter if I’m in light mode or dark mode, it won’t make it through one article until it crashes. I’m still on a hunt for a replacement app for Instapaper considering how many bugs have yet to be addressed and now these new series of bugs that have cropped up. I even went ahead and paid for the premium part of this app and have regretted it since issues and complaints seem to go unanswered. Please post if you are using a similar app that isn’t plagued with bugs that also has TTS!

I’m really disappointed in this App. This was my go to app for saving and reading articles for later, surpassing Pocket. Now I’ve switched to Pocket bc of the constant bugs that still plague the App that go unanswered AND most importantly the sudden change of our once free services to having to go to their website and pay for the services. I do not just want to give my credit card out without any option for secure payment, and features like text to speech multiple articles while driving are now paid. Change the App back to what it was before, otherwise you would lose another customer to your competitors.Show lessCirsp
Ignore the "EU won't work" 1 stars
This issue has been fixed and the app works fantastically. I bet some of these people use the app again but haven't updated their rating since.
The only thing I would like them to add is some extra functionality when it comes to organising and tagging. Folders are decent, but need improvement.Jimmyjookers
Getting Better
This is a great app to save online articles for reading later. With the ability to markup the text the app is useful. However, now that I have a number of articles saved which I would like to be able to reference in the future with no current way to store the articles in any meaningful way, it would be a nice improvement if they added some sort of catalog system whether it was key words or even the ability to create folders, but ideally both. Overall it is worth a permanent spot on your iPhone/iPad home screen.Show less..Ken..
Search doesn’t work and support non-existent for premium users
I’ve sent maybe five emails (latest the one they mentioned on Twitter) to two Instapaper e-mail addresses trying to get support and haven’t received any reply for a week.
I bought premium thinking you can search the archive, but you can’t. Simple one keyword phrases bring back zero or at the most one result on an archive numbering in the thousands. I’ve tried searching on various iOS devices and the laptop, same thing.
All I expected was a simple reply like search isn’t working properly etc etc, but I’ve received no reply to numerous e-mails.Show lesscapedape

Great app for reading web articles later. One recommendation to improve it would be to pay Google’s Wavenet to read the articles, rather than the mechanical “Lost in Space” robot they have reading articles now. I’d pay extra for Wavenet reading functionality.Productiveguy
Better than Pocket
This app wins compared to Pocket for me beucase if it’s good price for Premium and simple design. I only wish the text-to-speech service was less robotic.CherCherise
Instapaper: My Go To App
Wow! Been using Instapaper for nearly six years. Haven’t upgraded to Premium yet, but may do so. Easy to use on any of my devices—iPad, iPhone, Mac browsers. Saved most photos as well as text & will read it back using the text to speech Alex voice. Can’t change it, however. Saves all my browsing articles until I can settle in to read them.Show lessEd912
Text cuts off in pagination mode
The bug where text will appear cut off at the top and bottom of the page in pagination mode is still there after years. I can’t believe it’s still there.Clever Ruse
Almost there
As of version 7.7, almost everything about Instapaper has been modernized into an app I want to subscribe to and support for a very long time. There’s only one more issue for me, but it’s significant, and it’s been an issue as long as I can remember: On iPad, the text column width setting fixes the size of the *margins* instead of fixing the width of the text. So when you get it perfect in landscape mode, it’s way too narrow in portrait mode, and when it’s right in portrait mode, it’s too wide in landscape. In the iPad Pro era, it’s very common for me to read in either orientation, and having to adjust the settings every time is annoying. Once this is fixed, there will be nothing about Instapaper I don’t love unconditionally.Show lessportalkeeper
Great reading experience
Instapaper has a new vision and a new team directing their future. I love the current set of features and the free app works great. I’m one to want to pay for services I use and Instapaper is adding features for paid users. Keep up the great work!
One improvement is that Safari is the default browser. I’d like to see Chrome as an option for Instapaper to view articles.
I’ve used the competition for years and Pocket is great, but Instapaper is the underdog and I hope folks join me in paying for the product in 2019.Show lessMichaelp6of7
