  • Great resource!

Very well done! Nicely laid out and easy to get around. I think this will be a great app for me.
  • Wow!

I have untold volumes of books, online resources and anything I could find with this collection of information. Unbeatable.
  • Thanks for update

From reading other reviews it seems there are hot opinions on the "right" ways of all this, but this app serves a purpose and is elegantly done. It is being well taken care of.
  • Essential app

An excellent app. Extremely useful. No way of contacting the author (that I can see) to report a bug that stops the app from working in the latest version.
  • Must have

GET THIS APP. But to the developer, the new icon seems much too dark!
  • Excellent!

I'm very happy with the update. Now you can hear harmony too. Perfect for music students. Love it! Thanks for a great app.
  • Great App!!

Really useful app... Unfortunately Some of the sounds do not match up with the notes, so what you're hearing isn't correct, (e.g. The Fb's in the Db 'scales and chords' section) but purely as a reference tool it's incredibly useful! Thanks!
  • Chords

I think this is a great app. I love the way all of the scales, chords, and harmony is laid out. I would suggest one change though. Please consider showing the link between the scales and the chords that they are used over by placing the chord symbol next to each scale. This would be invaluable for students studying jazz improvisation. Thanks for the great app.

  • Poorly designed and not accurate

I have taught advanced music theory honors to prepare students for college as music major for the past 20 years and got is app on a lark to see if it would be a good tool for students. It is not. Is is inaccurate and misleading in its use of basic theory nomenclature which can make it confusing for theory students.

For example - chords are made up of steps of a scale and each note within a chord is called a factor, and is referee to by an Arabic number (1,2,3,4) - not a Roman numeral (I, II, III, etc.) roman numerals should only refer to chords as they function within a given key. For example in C Major the I chord is based on the first step of the scale and is made up of steps 1,3,5 of e scale. (scale steps should also have carrots above them but couldn't type that)

To me this is a big problem as students of theory regularly mix this up and get confused by the different numbering systems and their meanings. From the reviews it seems that many users downloading this are also beginners ( btw - the scale that goes with the dominant chord is the mixolydian scale - he major scale with a flat 7) It also just lists chords and scales with no information or association between the scales, chords, etc.
This combined with the annoying 5 flat instead of flat 5 - not a great tool.

  • Good app

This is a great app and all, but where is the suspended 2 chord? And some others?... In addition, there should be an option where we can hear unarpeggiated chords.. That would make this a great app if that were possible.... Also, this app is very handy and useful.

    Great work!
