  • Great app, got a few suggestions though.

This app has great potential. The only thing missing is notation. If you could tap on the scale and have a notation of the scale/chord come up. It would be great to see them take that next step. It's one element that would make this app really stand out.
  • Simple and useful

This simple app provides lists of scales, chords, harmonizations, etc. I find I return to it far more often than other more expensive music theory apps such as ChordLab.
  • Very useful

There are many apps available that show chord and scale diagrams, so why is this app IMHO so great? Well, many of us own a big fat chord book and probalbly a scale book or three - but how many of those chords etc are we able to actually remember. When you learn the formulas to build a scale or harmonies you are opening up a lot of possibilities - instead of trying to memorize chords you can begin to build them in any position. This app is another useful tool for a musians toolbox, that complements and enhances other approaches (such as chord books etc) It also makes an indispensable reference resource.

  • Good scale reference but needs larger viewing windows

I like the straightforward simplicity of this app and its ease of use. I do have a problem with the display windows though. The windows have wide frames that clip-off some of the longer string of notes. Would like to see the windows utilizing the full screen without frames.
  • Cool

This would be really nice if there were tabs and if it could play the chord/scale
  • Superb

This app is unbelievebly useful for those wanting to write music. Looking for a chord on the piano that is just out of ear shot? This will fill the blank. How about a delicious harmony? This is what you need. It is a great app for composer what ever your genera and really it should be useful for any skill level of composer. I highly recomend this app.

  • Great App for the price

Granted it doesn't have every single scale or chord type included, but this is a great app for the money and as a music major I find it very helpful.
  • Very nice but could use an update

It would be nice to be able to see dominant and altered dominant chords and to hear the various scales/modes/chord types as well as inversions of same. Very nice App though!!
  • Exactly what I needed (for 99 cents!)

Thanks very much for this app. I usually compose and play music alone, mostly by ear, but for the last few years I've started jamming more often with other people. When someone suggests playing in a key that I'm not that familiar with, I sometimes have to swallow my pride and ask to be reminded of the notes, or look it up in my scale book like a school kid! I would probably remember the notes once we got into the song, but under pressure your head can go kind of blank, and this is app is a really fast and easy reminder. Just touch few buttons and I'll know which notes to play. A tour through the app has also given me ideas on how to proceed with new, more Eastern style arrangements that I had thought of (but was a little unsure of before since I am pretty unfamiliar with those scales). So this is great. Thanks again...this is a wonderful reference piece at a great price. Very appreciated!!!!!

  • I like it, but look forward to some updates

This is very good for 99 cents, but I think an update that gives you a view of the chords and scales on a staff is needed. Most people read music on a staff not just letters. That would put it at 4 stars and if it had a way for you to listen to them it'd easily be 5 stars. Great app though. It will be awesome for theory class.
