  • Good

A sound reference would definitely be nice.
  • A musically functional app

Wonderful, slick and easy to navigate. All the information is intuitively organized and presented. As a music teacher myself I am going to recommend it to my students.

I would give it 5 stars if it had roman numeral labelling, an interactive circle of fifths linked to the extensive info and notated examples. But maybe I just want too much :)

Any chance of an update anytime soon? Please?

  • Definately worth a dollar!

This is a great app for anyone interested music theory. I found it very helpful! A sound reference would be nice, but it's definately worth $1.
  • Very handy. It would be nice.

It would be great if you put the George Russell Lydian Chromatic Concept scales in there. They work great for jazz, and every chord is covered. Otherwise it's a really good app. except for the already talked about major/dominant 7 chord spelling/definitions.
  • Just Great!

Would be 10 stars if you could listen to each of the scales... This would help myself and my students!

Good for all musos and teachers..
  • Stupid people

Well I like the delta sign and there is a major7+ so ignore that guy but you go a lot of chords wrong. So fix that and add a music notation view and maybe sounds.
  • Concept: Good, Proprietary Naming: BAD!

I love the idea of this app. As a relative beginner in music theory, it could be an excellent reference with 2 changes: 1) Include the scale formulas 2) Do away with the made up naming conventions. I constantly have to refer to the developer website to get a handle on his made up naming scheme to use the application so I find myself saving the extra search and just looking up the raw data on the web. It usually takes a bit longer to get the info off the web but at least it's standardized so I can understand it & actually talk to other musicians about it. The deltas and pluses are incredibly confusing and largely detract from what could be a really good application.

  • Crap?

Not really. Does what it says, but could do so much better with the piano keys indicated, instead of a plain text that it makes use of. Also, zooming would help it a lot, or a larger font, as some information is basically indecipherable due to the miniscule font size. On the other hand, can someone please tell me what does the delta sign that is being used here and there in this app means? Is is a substitute for an otherwise different notation symbol? It appears a bunch of times and got me quite confused, honestly... Well, anyway - I've spent my money now, so I'm looking forward to a decent update, that hopefully comes.

  • Not bad at all

Definately has a plethora of information.. so kudos for that. Here are interface changes I would recommend that would knock this up to a 5 star. In the Scales, Chords, and Harmonies - separating information by Natural on one page and Sharps and Flats on a 2nd page is Not good. I rather see it all on one page. Also, the txt is very small in the Harmonies section. Why not just have all the information one one page, with good size txt throughout, that you can scroll up and down on. Additionally, in the Harmonies section, I think putting it in table form with the Nashville # system, and with shaded columns for major I IV and V and would be very helpful. Lastly, The Notes section.. I like, but Why not have all the chords available. This section should have as much information the Chord section... it should be two ways of looking at the same information. One by kind of chords for any given note... and one for any given kind of chord, all the posibilites given for each root. Regardless.. good start, definately recommend this... look forward to improvements.
