(update - as of writing this, the only review on this app is this review showing 1 star, but the average star rating is 2 stars, how is that possible? Also, 0 of 2 people found this review helpful. One may not agree with the review, but to vote that the detailed informatoin did not help at all seems interesting, especially since app developers who are angry with low ratings can just click that it was not helpful and even write fake positive reviews. I won't be wasting any more time trying give detailed reviews and to Apple, this review writing system will give more and more B.S. reviews like "rock on dude" or "I like glass." )
Pass on this. Even for free, if the information is not all correct or at least full of useful information, what's the point? There is a grand total of 26 phrases in this plus numbers 1-10. The audio pronunciations in the introductions section are clipped by the speaker and sound a bit off. The language lesson is filled with a "Thai" person "teaching" a foreigner how to speak, but many times not completely clear. There is also no way to pause, fast forward or rewind the long lesson; you have to listen to it from the beginning every time. Also, the number of phrases per section is anemic. Example - under the heading "Dates" there are only four entries: Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday, Now. The "Thai" speaker pronounces the "nee" part of "wun nee" with the wrong tone and the English phonetics do not have tone marks, so you have no accurate information at all in that case. TO EVERYONE WANTING TO FIND A GOOD ENGLISH PHONETIC PHRASE APP OR BOOK...YOU MUST FIND ONE WITH A TONE MARK SYSTEM IN IT. Using a wrong tone in Thai changes the actual word to a different word or a nonsense word. They even mention this in the little language lesson in this app, yet they don't put tone marks for the phonetics. Bottom line, if you want to learn and listen to Thai numbers one through ten, then for free, this has it. Again beware in introductory language instruction like this; if it does not teach you correctly from the start, then even free is too expensive.
