  • Ok but lots that really needs to improve

What I really don’t understand is why on my iPhone I can send the audio to a HomePod but NOT when I’m on an iPad? (Both version 40.4.0) Would really like this feature on iPad too...

Other than that mostly ok and don’t have a choice as my employer uses Webex.

    Other comments:

It really could do with better auto-muting. (When using Webex everyone needs to mute otherwise it’s a mess. Feels like Zoom somehow handles this better.)

Built in chat not very discoverable and doesn’t use iPad screen effectively. If you add a photo as a fallback to video it distorts the picture for some reason.

Screen sharing seems to be clunky. We have one meeting every morning in which someone has to share their screen and it always causes a few minutes delay as they try to launch it.

Supports Siri Shortcuts, which is good. (Unfortunately employer has an added an interstitial disclaimer ok/cancel dialogue before opening call, so that limits this feature.)

  • Great iPhone app

This is a great app for the iPhone. I’ve never experienced any issues related to the app. Most audio issues I’ve experienced are caused from users: bad microphone, not talking close enough to microphone, not muting themselves when dialing in, etc. I attend all of my WebEx meetings exclusively on iPhone app now so that I can keep working separately on desktop during meetings.

I especially love that there is an Apple Watch app; when you’re in a meeting, the Watch app pops up and is basically just a large mute/unmute button. Genius! Something Apple should adapt for their normal phone functionality.

If I were to ask for an additional feature, it would be to integrate with the iPhone phone app. When I’m on a meeting with Microsoft Teams, I get the same lock screen as I would if I were in a phone call, with a mute button, video button (instead of FaceTime), etc. I take a lot of my calls while outside on walks with my dogs during the COVID-19 shut down, so it would be nice to be able to quickly mute/unmute myself without unlocking my phone (the Watch app isn’t always responsive).

  • Webex effectiveness

Due to half our team working from home on alternating weeks, we have used this Roger am for about 4 weeks.

It has worked well enough that we are considering using this for a department meeting two or three times per week after we get back to normal and the virus is behind us.

We have asked ourselves how life will change as a result of this virus. One of the changes will likely be a little less reliance on in-person meetings because at times a video conference is more efficient. Because you are able to continue on other activities until all are able to be at the meeting, we have less wasted time when one or two members get tied up.

  • Very useful

A very useful app for distance learning and teaching.
  • Best app to use for school meetings

This app is amazing for school meetings. If you have an app like compass or class dojo I would recommend putting a link so it’s easier for the students to find the class meetings faster. The only thing about this app I don’t like is that if you have cheeky students they might unmute their selves and they can say naughty things. This app should have an option for a group chat just for your friends and an option for classes so kids can’t unmute their selves. Other than that this app is amazing and the best app to use for schools I would rate it 5 out of 5

  • Works ok

It cannot support more than about 5 people so you need to keep your cameras and mics off! I would highly recommend zoom over this, this constantly crashes
  • Love it so much

    It is so good
  • Functional but.....

There are quite a few areas that this app (and the desktop version) could improve. The main one for me is the inability to enter a meeting room before the host. This wouldn’t be so bad if there was a notification when the meeting started but I find I have to keep clicking the link until the meeting has started and then end up missing the beginning. Very inefficient use of my time. Less important is that the virtual background is appalling making users look like ghosts.

On the positive side, and why this got 3 stars, the general video quality is good although the audio is prone to feedback.

The background noise was very bad
  • Critical application at the moment - but it’s terrible!

Obviously given the situation (currently working from home during the UK’s COVID-19 lockdown) this is a critical application for me and my colleagues to get things done using our companies’ virtual/remote communication platform of choice. The problem is that on my device (iPhone XS Max up to date using iOS 13.4.1) every time I log-in to WebEx, I get an error regarding recordings and then when I try to open or join a meeting, it doesn’t connect. I have to delete the app, re-install it, re-login using my companies details and then it’ll connect. If I use it for the rest of the day, it’ll work fine with all my calls and meetings. Try and use it the following day and so have to go through the delete and re-install process. I do app updates and software updates promptly but this app is truly terrible.

This has been going on for over 6 months but it’s only getting to the point of being a useless application now in this lockdown period. So, I’m having to revert to Webex on my laptop (which is perfect every time) but slightly inconvenient because I have to be attached to my laptop constantly to both see and speak to my colleagues.
