The application needs to make secure socket connections to our servers, in some cases intervening firewalls can prevent thinkorswim from completing its connection and cause this exact issue. Good except for major flaw
Pretty good except for one major flaw, especially for my style of trading. The features are relatively easy to use and navigation is logical. The flaw? The McClellan Oscillator doesn't work, showing just a flat line. Despite being notified, and forum posts going back a few years old showing that this isn't a new problem, they're not interested in fixing it. A pity, really, because otherwise I'd use it more often.

Long-standing TOS client

Complicated but stable
Appears very stable but way too complicated for my needs. Also seems to lack easy-to-access history of trades. Very much focussed on the here and now.

Does what it says on the tin
Works as advertised.

Handy when you can't get access to your desktop client (which obviously has more capabilities).

UK based users get an offshore address.

TOS is an excellent software for options trading
No other softwares can beat TOS in options trading. Unfortunately Aussies are not allowed to participate. Hope that TDA will have an office in Australia to put all other brokers out of business. Love the live margin calculations, up to date chart, combo orders filled a lot quicker than OX and IB.

Very usefull app
good app and quite flexible easy to operate it has most of the features you will need if you trade end of day data , however if you day trade or trade forex you will probably still want to be at your desk

Think or swim
I find think or swim a great platform for technical traders but I fail to understand why New Zealand can not use this platform to trade. I guess it's Think or swims lose revenue!
