I’ve used 2Do to organize very different phases of my life and all kinds of projects: from building a house and managing everyday personal tasks to handling more complex professional projects. What continues to impress me is its flexibility, clarity, and reliability. A real highlight for me is the iCloud sync. It is incredibly fast – changes appear on my other devices almost instantly. This is exactly how modern synchronization should work. I also really appreciate the fast and direct contact with the developer. Feedback is taken seriously, and that kind of personal communication has become quite rare with apps today. 2Do is one of those apps you really get to know once – and then never want to be without again. An essential part of my daily life for years. I expected the basics; instead I found deep customization, seamless sync, powerful search and filtering, and smart scheduling with alerts, attachments, and shortcuts that actually save time. There's a short learning curve, but it pays off fast. I've tried many well-known task managers, and nothing comes close to what 2Do delivers in depth and flexibility. With this newest version, I decided to take the time to fully optimize the way I use it and it’s been fabulous! When I couldn’t figure something out I went to Google and got the answers. It was worth the time I because this app will be all I need to stay on task, get a quick view of my calendar, and keep track of information I don’t want to lose sight of. Problem ist, ich sehe nextcloud Deck Aufgaben, kann aber damit nichts machen. Kein planen, kein editieren. Mit der alten Version ging es noch, aber da war die Listendarstellung auch anders. Bitte fixen. ### 3/5 — Still missing the feature I want most *2026-09-10* No customizable Priorities. Why is that so hard? For years I’ve been trying to find a to-do app that lets me make my own priorities, but no, I have to use “1 bar, 2 bar, star” or whatever dumb system they come up with. What if i want to use “1- Urgent/Important, 2-Not Urgent/ Important, 3- urgent/unimportant, and 4- not urgent or important”? Or something like “1-Do, 2-Delegate, 3-defer, 4-delete”? Theres a dozen ways to prioritize, but 2Do makes you use “low medium high”, whatever that means. Literally all I’m asking for is to make the titles for priorities 1-4 editable. A informação de horário junto à data é desnecessária e só polui o visual. ### 4/5 — Initial thoughts… *2026-09-18* I abandoned the old app since the updates were few and far between and the app just fell behind with each new iOS update. I reluctantly moved to Things 3 and hated using it so I was really excited to see this new version of 2Do. So far I see some of the obvious changes but it’s mostly the same app, in my opinion. Still playing with it but nothing has jumped out yet that makes me feel it was worth the upgrade from the legacy version. Honestly I’m just glad they’re updating it again. ### 4/5 — Great app, old version better *2026-09-16* Love the app, have used it for years. Not a fan of the new format- fewer colours make it harder to read and there seem to be more words visible now making the list appear convoluted. Would love a bit more colour coding. No issues migrating from the old app to this one. ### 4/5 — Good update but had issues transferring tasks *2026-09-12* Revised review: overall a good update and worth the money. I like the approach of charging a one-off amount for the optional upgrade whilst leaving the legacy edition available. However I did have issues transferring tasks across to the new version. Having been through all the menu options a couple of times, I finally worked out how to transfer everything via backup/restore. The integrations with Apple Notes and Reminders is finally on its way. I have not tried all of the to-do apps available on the app store, but I have tried most of the big ones - ToDoist, TickTick, MS ToDo, Things3, several newer ones, and of course, Reminders. Things3 has made some recent improvements that kick it up a notch, and I continue to really like that platform for getting things done - simple and elegant. 2Do is a unique workflow and takes a little getting use to, but, I've been using it for the better part of nine-plus years and there's something that keeps me coming back. My biggest complaint is that it's so difficult to find on the app store, that's probably on Apple's traditionally terrible search engines. It is a very elegant app and wonderful to use if you make a personal connection with it. I would also argue it's one of the more beautiful developments in this category as well. A huge leap forward for 2Do is the ability to use iCloud natively. This was possible before the release of v.4, but the tradeoffs were not great ... not an issue anymore, you get it all on iCloud. A couple of final observations: Syncing has become more idiosyncratic - updates don't happen as predictably and instantaneously as they use to. On macOS, if the app is hidden, it will often not update until I bring it to the front, and even then I often hit the sync button at the bottom of the window to get it to actually update. (I have made sure that all of my sync settings are where they should be.) I don't think this will be an ongoing issue as I see there has been several recent updates addressing this issue, including an update that further addressed the issue right after I downloaded it. And finally, the online instructions are a bit ambiguous to me - It's clear enough on how to set up syncing with Reminders, but I'm not clear on what I do after that initial sync. Do I go back to iCloud syncing, or do I have to choose between staying with Reminders sync or iCloud sync? That's it for now, I'll post updates as we go through a major OS update, and as this new version of 2Do gets smoothed out. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Awesome todo app! *2026-09-23* It is a well-rounded todo app and is worth paying for it. The beautiful design and thoughtful implementation of power user features add up to something truly unique. The new version is outstanding! The new UI is beautiful and intuitive, while there are even more features and options than before. Plus a strong recommendation - whether you’ve used 2Do before, or are looking for a decent, modern to-do app, with a good reputation and long track record, that is both simple to use and with lots of extra features if you start digging. These are seriously good apps, that I use every day. I’ve been using the legacy version on my iPhone and iPad for years. I bought the new versions a week or two back, and have been playing with them since then. For those still on the old versions, I’d definitely upgrade. No need to wait. There are LOTS of improvements. Too many to mention, but the one I like best is the very fast syncing between my 2 devices. When I switched to these new apps, I moved from using Dropbox to iCloud, as recommended, and the syncing is almost instant most of the time. Oh, and the transfer of my data from the old apps to the new ones went smoothly too. Plus, there’s plenty of help on the devoper’s website, including instructions on how to migrate your data, which I followed. It is true that there are now separate versions for iPhone and iPad, but after many, many years of free updates, I was more than happy to finally be able to send some money towards the developers. Plus NO subscription. Great. ;-) Thank you for such excellent apps. Oh, and for anyone who’s also looking for a modern, fully-featured calendar app, this developer also provides BusyCal, which I’ve been using for years as well. Le support technique est très serviable et efficace. ### 5/5 — Reminders Sync is Back! *2026-09-20* This was my task app of choice for years until 2019, when Apple changed the Reminders framework and 2Do no longer synced with Reminders, instead syncing only through CalDAV. I tried to make that work, but it effectively was unusable with Siri any longer, so I moved on. While I did find the excellent, very customizable GoodTask that fully synced with Reminders, I was just always drawn to the 2Do UI. And, now that 2Do has Reminders sync back (along with numerous other upgrades), I’m happy to be using my favorite task manager again. ### 5/5 — Unnecessarily apprehensive *2026-09-19* I started using 2DO at its inception in 2007. I used it to help organize my business so there are reoccurring events many years out. I was concerned about all of the data being transferred correctly. The transition to the version 4 was seamless and extremely straight forward. All of my data transferred correctly. I am still learning all of the new functions, but I can tell you without a doubt my favorite is the new print functions. Now you can easily organize your day and produce a simple prioritized to-do list with or without the sub task. I forward this list to my staff daily. We are then all on the same page which has substantially increased productivity. In my opinion, the minimal initial fee is a small price to pay for such a functional app. The staff has done an excellent job on producing such a useful organization tool. One thing this version lacks is extra taps to set the time on a due date. I never utilize ‘start times’ and would love to see the time presets appear when opening up the task menu after holding, especially since I’ve toggled Start times off in preferences (they still appear in the quick menu). That would be a huge QOL improvement since i usually defer the time (instead of date) all the time and it feels like it takes way longer with this latest edition!
