## What is 3?

304 is the card game families across Sri Lanka have played for generations —
four players, two teams, one deck, and exactly 304 points on the table.

You and your partner sit opposite each other. Bid for the right to name trump,
then win the tricks that carry the points. Take what you promised and your
opponents lose tokens. Fall short of your own bid and you lose them instead.
Run out of tokens, and the match is over.

HOW IT PLAYS

• Four players in two teams — you and your partner against two opponents
• Bidding opens at 160 and climbs in tens; the highest bidder names trump
• Trump stays concealed until it is called for, so nobody knows what is coming
• Every card counts: Jacks 30, Nines 20, Aces 11, Tens 10 — 304 in all
• Bid bigger for a bigger swing: clear 250 and take three tokens from your
  opponents, but miss it and you drop four
• Capture all 304 points for a kapoti, the cleanest win in the game
