  • Having a problem

Anyone else having a problem suddenly with this game? It always worked great. Suddenly the days I beat put a flower on the next day. I had to replay the same day to get the flower on that day. Now when I go into a day (Monday the 22nd) the score to beat on the calendar page is different than the score to beat on the puzzle itself. What is going on? When are the fixes coming?

  • Just for Wordies.

It's so nice to have an iPhone game that isn't about speed or noise. Can't get enough of this game. I sometimes play the same game over again just to see what other clever combinations I can come up with.

One feature that's missing for me: automatic disabling of sounds. If my ringer is silenced, then the game shouldn't make noise either. Or just ask on start-up if sounds should be enabled/disabled. This would make it less embarrassing for me to feed my WordJong addiction in situations where I really should be doing something else.

  • Fun if a bit monotonous

This is a fun app for word lovers. I can go back and solve two years' worth of extra puzzles so I will never run out of boards to play. I like the in-game awards to challenge myself to although they didn't last long. I like to challenge myself now to make as many nine letter words as I can. I would love to see new challenges though or variations of play to keep it fresh.

I would rate this four stars but I'm adding a fifth star to counteract poor reviews from people who think the game should accept words like "sargeant" or "February" lol wow people....

I would like to see the ability to turn off the sound by using the silence button on my phone rather than having to mute in-game. Also would like to access the list of words I've already created during the puzzle.

  • Fun but some drawbacks...

I spent awhile playing this game last Sunday. When you get to the end of the puzzle, if you have not beaten the "high score" given for that day, you get a field of small flowers. If you beat it, you get large flowers which in turn are saved to your calendar. When I refresh the game, it loses my "wins" which is frustrating. Also, I've found a few words that are not recognized by the game. Overall fun, but needs some fixing with regards to saving scores.

  • Fun word puzzler

I REALLY like WordJong. I think if you like word games such as Scrabble and Boggle and you like puzzles, WordJong is a good fit. It's very impressive that Gameblend has developed an algorithm to create these puzzles for every day of the year. The Achilles Heel of having an algorithm do the job, however, is that the puzzles begin to feel rather "samey". Often, I am able to make the words "creatures" and "truculent" and "jeered" for several days in a row. Another consequence of the algorithm is that there aren't ever any truly difficult puzzles. If you have any kind of vocabulary, you will blow away the scores set out as benchmarks. Okay, enough with my complaining though. Despite these quibbles, I am compelled to play this game, so I have to give it four stars. Production value is excellent, and I enjoy trying to make as many 9 letter words in a row as possible. So I think if you can set aside the issues with difficulty level and compete more against yourself, you will really enjoy WordJong. It's also fun to play with friends and family members.

  • Addictive!

Great game overall. Well thought out & slickly implemented. I love word games and Mahjong & this is the perfect amalgam of the two. Funny how some of the dictionary complaints from other reviewers mention words that should have been accepted, but they've just misspelled the word. I'm pretty sure it would have accepted "sergeant" if they hadn't spelled it "sargeant".

Two things I'd like to see added are the ability to go back to old puzzles to see the words you used, and the capability to submit your words and scores online to compare against others, or at the very least just the scores. Having a true high score would be more of a challenge than the in-game high scores, which are ridiculously easy to beat.

  • WordJong

Fantastic word game!! I am definitely hooked on this game and am glad to have purchased it. It is worth every bit of the full price that I paid. My entire family has it on their iPhones and enjoy the game as I. I believe it is quite under rated. It is terrific for keeping the mind fit and we need to exercise our minds in addition to our bodies.

  • Great game! Fun, challenging, and relaxing.

Concept, graphics, gameplay, awards -- all are very well done. In my opinion, this is even more fun than Scrabble. (Updated review for the developers: Once I earned all the acheivements, I lost the desire to keep playing the game. Please add lots more achievements, or better yet, add a second tier of acheivements once the first group is earned. Thanks!)

  • My All Time Favorite Word Game!

My husband and I both have WordJong on our iPhones, and enjoy not only beating the Masters, but beating each other. Here’s why we love this game… 1) It’s both stimulating and challenging. 2) It's professionally well thought out, and beautifully executed. 3) Everyone plays the exact same game each day - making it a level playing field if you want to play with others. 4) The Word List at game's end - makes it interesting to recall all the words you came up with. 5) The ability to go back and play past games from any date on the calendar makes for unlimited play. 6) The 'Praise' from the Master received after creating 9-letter words, and the Game Awards are a satisfying touch. What would we love to see in an update? When using the back button... it would be helpful to see the last word used displayed on the screen. Sometimes there is a need to go back several words for strategic purposes, and it can be hard to recall those previous words, and their order. Being able to recall previous words used would facilitate knowing when to stop hitting the back button. PS. I bought this game when it was full price - and I still feel it was good value!

  • Favorite Game Thus Far!

I've had my iTouch for about a month now and this is my favorite game so far. It's challenging and completely different then other games I've played. There's a few words I've come across that aren't in the dictionary but it's not that big of a deal. I wish there were more awards you could aim for and that it kept track of your "best" words, highest scoring games etc. Those are just wishes though, it's definitely a must buy for any word game enthusiast.
