  • How is this FREE?!

I honestly cannot believe that this app is free, I first found the training sessions on netflix and they completely turned my life around. As someone who needs fitness but can’t necessarily fit gym time or classes around my young children, these workouts were an absolute saviour! I was devastated when Netflix dropped them but then delighted to find this app, I thought it must be too good to be true and that I’d have an annoying subscription pop-up halfway through but no, what I found instead is that the app offers even MORE than the videos on Netflix. There are 6 week programmes, there’s nutrition advice, workouts for absolutely EVERY occasion and for every body too. It also works directly with my devices and works on the go too. I cannot thank Nike enough for providing this amazing tool and I hope it continues to be free and saves many more lives like it did mine 🥰

  • Great workouts, but needs a decent search function

I really like this app. There’s a huge range of great workout videos to work along to. The trainers are top notch and the videos are very professional. The programs are intelligently structured though there’s not a lot of guidance about how to make the most of them.

My main wish is for a better search function. There’s a “browse” function but it only allows you to filter by a few categories, so it can be hit and miss to find what you want. You can’t search for “Pilates”, for example. And the equipment filter is very frustrating — you can filter by “no equipment”, “basic equipment”, or “full equipment” — I want to be able to find workouts that incorporate kettlebells and/or dumbbells.

I would also like some workouts that incorporate hanging and pull ups. And a Pilates program.

  • Used to love this app

Three years ago this app helped motivate me to lose 15 kgs. I always hated video based workouts and I liked how adaptive it was to my skills and feedback, as well as the quiet time I got. The updated version with videos is completely useless. I would have been willing to pay for the previous version, but this is just like everything else - I can’t skip back to previous movements to check my form, I can’t let the app know about an injury or an exercise I don’t like, I can’t check on what equipment I’ll need or exercises I’ll be doing, I can’t really do anything except watch the videos which are unmotivating and annoying. I’ve tried to give the new app a go, maybe three or four times and always found myself frustrated and unable to continue based on the freezing videos, annoying instructors and unable to repeat movements or skip ahead/back.
TLDR; a really amazing workout app turned really terrible.

  • Great for following Yoga 🧘

I've been using this app for over 4 years now, initially for runner strength and conditioning workouts, but I now use it primarily for following a variety of fantastic Yoga flows. There's a couple of vinyasa workouts I practice weekly (shoutout to trainer Jonah Kest💕). I wouldn't have discovered Yoga without this app! To improve, I would add the option to download workouts for offline viewing as it can be difficult to get phone signal if I'm doing a workout out of home. I would also add the option to build your own class format workout from the short videos of Nike trainers demonstrating an exercise. And if anyone at Nike is reading... yes, this app does subliminally make me buy Nike products! I even practice yoga on a Nike mat now 😅 Please keep this app going 🥰

  • Save me from the notification reminder notice!!

I’m not sure what UX designer allowed this interaction but every single time I do a workout (which is often more than one at once) I am forced to say ‘not now’ to a full page takeover asking me to allow reminders and notifications. I would think after 50 times of me saying no you would get the message that I don’t want them!! Even the app settings don’t allow you to stop the annoying (and painfully slow) pop up. Please take it away!! Normally I love this app, but now, 1 star.

  • Really happy

I remember using this app during the Covid lockdown and now still as a teen I decided to try it again since everything is free and I can do it in my bedroom, living room or backyard which is my favorite place to do the workouts (you just need WiFi). I love that everything is free and easy to do since I am a teen that can’t afford a gym membership like I did last year. I am not so skinny (I am trying to be / working on it) and I am so glad these workouts are easy to do for anyone (yes they also have more advanced stuff, I’m not ready for it yet). They also have things with and without equipment needed and you can sync your Apple Music playlist. I like using this app on my iPad, I just wish the app itself was played out for the iPad however the workout videos are just fine and you can click a button that pops up in the corner that makes the video fit the screen. Also each coach walks you through each workout. I have only done 3 workouts since I redownloaded the app, the app has definitely gotten better since 2020 and I am definitely here to stay even if I do sign up for a real gym again!

  • Love it!

This is one of the best apps for workouts. I love their variety of workouts and how they let you know what equipment and level of fitness is recommended. Their programs have kept me going on my fitness journey as they are challenging and I don’t have to think hard about them. I love that they have introduced and built in programs that also support mental health such as yoga and breath work. Only downside is I can’t take 2 programs at once (one for my physical health and one for my mental health). I found a work around but it means I can’t track my progress within the app.

  • Doesn’t work.

I tried the app for four days and after finishing my workout the app froze. And doesn’t work more.
  • Great app usually but buggy. Doesn’t respond on program page, can’t open app

Normally a fan of the app, but now it’s increasingly buggy.

Started the kickstarter program and that had cause the app to not respond. Tried restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works.

Wanted to report the bug but there’s no actual way to do that. I kept being directed to Nikes official website but I don’t want to buy no shoe! Wish the bug could be resolved soon, would love to use the app again.

  • Reviewing the prenatal & postnatal programs

I’ve been pregnant for nearly two years now (back to back kids…) and love how A. The app is free. Period. And B. The ladies coaching the prenatal/postnatal programs seem awesome to work with. I love how I don’t have to pay a cent to access the workout videos and the resources, and no ads either. The interface is seamless and easy to navigate. Nike does a great job recruiting other real moms and moms-to-be to show alternative poses/positions, and the coaches themselves are mothers too. I used to only want to work out for looks (in my 20s) but now as I’m in my 30s with one baby and another on the way, I am still doing what I can to maintain my fitness level to be strong and flexible and to also recover, especially with all the changes my body has been through and will continue to go through. With one C-section and a second surgery scheduled, my body will never go back to the way it was before and I have to learn to embrace that yet it’s still so important to stay active. Thank you, Nike, for representing true and real motherhood - without showing Instagram-like models with unrealistic expectations and bodies.

Also I follow the yoga programs and videos too. Love those as well.

I can’t say much for the other workout programs - I strive to slowly one day go back to those programs and workout routines.
