  • Never paying for a different fitness program

I cannot sing enough praises for NTC! I have tried following workouts from Instagram, I have even paid for workout programs advertised on said platform, and nothing has been more easy to stick to than NTC. I downloaded the NTC app at the end of April when I sensed gyms would not be opening any time soon due to COVID-19. I have been working my way up through the NTC programs, starting with Betina Gozo‘s beginner program. I am now on my 3rd NTC program and I am so thrilled with the progress I have made. I love how the programs focus on form and mobility in each workout. I used to always get injured when working out again and I have managed to progress injury-free thanks to the app’s well planned sequences. I also appreciate that the program will often squeeze in a slightly less intense workout after a very strenuous workout. It makes it so much easier to stay consistent and see progress. I am thrilled by how much my endurance and strength have improved in the past 3 months and I am looking forward to Nike launching more programs!

  • Good company, great app

I started using this app consistently when COVID hit and I no longer had gym access. They made their premium content free, which made me all the more inclined to stick with it. Their premium content alone has saved my health and fitness routine, without it I would not have found a program to consistently stick to. But all the while I have been anxious for the day they would take their free premium content back and make it a paid subscription again. To find out today that they will keep their premium content free indefinitely was a huge sigh of relief, and an even stronger motivator to stay committed. Now, I can visualize my fitness future. I greatly value a company that proves their ethos with action and not just lip speak. Thank you Nike for making it so easy for your community to stay healthy and committed!
As for the workouts, they cannot make it any easier. You can filter my body part, workout type, instructor, workout length, equipment vs no equipment. You can save favorites (one suggestion to Nike would be allow us to create separate folders to save favorites to). You just hit play and the (mental) work is done for you. Its the best. I’ve tried other competitive workout apps as well and nothing quite compares.

  • Thank you

Been with Nike for over 7 years. I miss the free recipes for smoothies and I wish it would come back but I am most grateful that it’s FREE no in App purchases nothing! Best App ever!

Pls bring back the recipes ❤️
  • Great, some suggestions.

Great app, all of the workouts are very good and I like the structure of them. I think their definitely needs to be some more plans, although I realise that is difficult. I also think, when you are looking for a workout, you should be able to filter the equipment you want to use so you don’t spend so much time looking through workouts. I also think it would be great if alternatives to the exercises were listed for people who don’t have the exact equipment. I know in some voice overs it says that certain exercises can be done with different equipment but it would be helpful if this happened a lot more often. Also, on the non-paid version, the longest workout is 47 minutes. I think there could be longer workouts, for example a one hour workout.
I hope you read this and take some of the suggestions into account.
    Thanks.

  • Great app and training plans!

I followed the 8 week gym strong plan at home and it was great! Even though I had limited equipment (I made do with dumbbells, a slam ball and pull up bar) the workouts are varied enough that they don’t become repetitive and stay fun and interesting.

Considering the app is free it’s just at good at some other ones which charge around £10 a month. The app is really simple to use and it’s easy to view your training plan by day or week or the whole 8 weeks. The plan really kept me motivated and in shape during lockdown.

I pretty much followed the gym strong plan down to a tee and my back and legs are much stronger. You’re practically doing legwork and pull-ups or chin-ups in every workout. My only slight criticism was that there wasn’t enough chest exercises in the workouts.

  • Challenging Home workouts don’t feel lonely.

I’m a professional performer and have little time to get to the gym from my location. Working out at home I feel this app gives you choice, great targeted challenges and the ability to see your progression. I’ve been using it for years and it’s always great. Highly recommend for any level.
  • Almost perfect

I’ve been using the NTC app for the last three months since the covid19 lockdown started. The premium content has been really great; they are very high quality videos with easy to follow format, with incredible instructors. I finished The Breakthrough Challenge and just started Kirsty’s Ignite & Inspire program. I also try to fit in a yoga session everyday. Alex Silver-Fagan is an amazing yoga instructor and her voice just calms and makes me at peace. Kirsty’s workouts are so hard but her energy really is infectious and gives me the push that I need through working out by myself.

Now, there’s only a few things that I really wish this app provided:
    1. Ability to cast the video to TV or an external monitor
    2. iPad app. I’ve been using the app on my iPad and just expand it to fit my screen but I wish there was an actual iPad format for this app.
    3. Turn off the useless notifications like activities completed, new messages etc. those red dots are annoying and distracting IMO.
    4. Ability to do more than one program at a time. I was hoping I can pair Kirsty’s program with Betina’s strength or Alex’s yoga program, but it only lets me do one at a time. I kinda understand that each program is supposed to be like a lifestyle commitment thing, but I don’t use any of the other things like nutrition advice in the program. I think something like yoga program and a HIIT program goes well together. This is a bonus not a must though.

  • Plan removal (2020, quarantine era)!

I have been struggling to find out how to workout without the plans and with all these updated workouts. Let alone the quarantine and struggles to go out, It’s a major struggle for me to know what to do, in what order. Once I have seen this change I panicked cause I need the plans to self account me for my workouts. It’s very hard and I have been inconsistent with my works outs ever since the removal of the plans. The plans helped me build goals and confidence, it made me feel set for the next days workout. The removals of the plan just crashed my esteem to work out. My family members and I would really use the plans to stay consistent and ready for the next day. We are in quarantine now 2020 Coronavirus era, we are all staying home lazy and unbearable. We should revive the plans section about now. It would be majorly helpful. Please may you guys bring back the plans and help me get back up of my feet to get myself health and fit. It’s been a year since this change and I have hated it ever since it appeared on my phone. We all need this CHANGE and we need it ASAP! WHY IS THIS APP NOW ACTUNG LIKE THE OTHERS?!?!?! PLEASE BRING BACK THE FREE
PLANSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAKE SURE TO SEND AN UPDATE TO ALL OUR PHONES LETTING US KNOWS FREE PLANS ARE BACK.
    Thanks for listening! #BringBackPlans!

  • Good, but some “bugs”

I love this app, I’ve been using the Bettina Gozo program, and am loving it and her. My only complaint is that I have a couple of times exited out of the app accidentally, and when I go back in to it, it wants me to start that days workout all over again. It seems any progress I had as far as calories burned (from my Apple Watch) is gone. I did this today, and had to fast forward the video back to where I was and pick up from where I was. Also, I went into the activity app and the workout did even register, which is slightly frustrating, from a tracking standpoint. Nike, this app is great, but please make it so that you can resume and not loose all of your data the moment you exit out mid workout!

    Update April 2020
Still using the app on a daily basis but it seems to be crashing a lot lately while browsing workouts. It’s a little frustrating to find a workout and then have the app crash and have to go and set the filters again to find it. Please fix!

  • The concept is good but

I like that you can build your own plans and there’s lots to choose from but I’m on the ‘easiest’ setting and it is is so so hard. For a beginner it is just stressful trying to keep up with the moves in time, you have 30 seconds to do most of them and it takes that time to work out what the trainer is actually doing on your tiny screen. In the first session I pulled my leg muscles really badly and couldn’t walk for 3 days. I’m sure once your good at it, it’s a very good app. However despite asking questions at the start, it doesn’t seem to take into account beginners who have not exercised for a long time, who do not know the work outs and who needs guidance in how to warm up and wind down from exercise to prevent injury. What would be better is if it could have an easier/slower function in the first few weeks so beginners like me do not have to get so stressed out trying to work out the moves in time and end up feeling like they’ve failed. My next scheduled exercise is a 30 minute run - Eugh I’ve not even done a run before and I can’t even run for a bus so doing it for 30 minutes will be insane!
