  • Outstanding for RPG fans!

This is one great game. All the elements of great classic PC rpg's are intact. I know it's 5.99, but believe me, there are current PC role-playing games out there that don't get the job done at ten times the price. Give it a try. It's not instant gratification like too many games out there. But the rewards are there for those who love the geek arts. Truly a game that's been needed on the iPhone for too long. Thank God it's finally here. Makes me excited for what's to come next for this, the finest handheld device the world has ever seen. Nothing else out there is iPhone and this proves it.

  • A must have for any RPG fans

At first I was wary of this game, it looked graphically stunning, but I had my doubts, yet once I started playing I found it very hard to put down. The game itself has so many possibilities, it is hard to decided what route you want to take, good side or evil side. I completed the game, but unlike other RPG's where once you complete the game, it ends. This one continues, so you have a chance to continue playing and complete any side quests you missed. That as well as all the other possibilities, makes this a perfect game. Awesome replay value as well. Only down side is that later in the game when you can develop permenate potions that increase you main stats by +1, you can only drink one per level, and a couple scripted errors exist as well, may need an update to address them, but overall this game is well worth the money when compared to other games of it's kind.

  • Way beyond impressive!

I have to say, out of every RPG I have played on the iphone, none come close to the sheer pleasure that this game delivers. It is like a iphone version of daggerfall: decent story and quests, able to create the characters any way you choose, alchemy and plants all over to gather as ingredients......not a whole lot of cons : sometimes screen lag, the quests can be a bit vague and when you do any multi-part quests, it never updates the current quest objectives, just the original stays in place. but overall, a FANTASTIC game!!

  • Awesome!

This game is amazing! It reminds me of those great rpg games on your pc like gothic. It is totaly worth the price. It you like rpg games, and have like the other games this company has brought out, you will like this game too! The only cons are The graphics are a little choppy compared to Legacy. The flowers and mushrooms and such for the Alchemy potions need to refresh, along with the monsters. I hope that they realease the expansions for quest on the i phone like they have for the pocket PC But, this does not take anything away from the game, I have not been able to put it down since I got it!

  • Amazing RPG

This game is pretty amazing for a handheld rpg let alone an iPhone game, especially if you enjoyed any of the old classics which inspired it. It's amazingly long and rich. If you're a youngin' you might not "get" it though.

I'm rating it 5 stars even though it's not perfect. Here are my suggestions:
    1) it rains way too much. Everyday rains are a pain when it causes your resting to not heal health/mana to full.
    2) I'd like to see some kind of onscreen buff/debuff display. Except for item bonuses probably. So just short term buffs and any debuffs.
3)could control be improved slightly by allowing taps at the edges of the display? Maybe left/right sides for turning, lower left/right for strafing. (or upper corners for turning and left/right sides for strafe). Top/bottom edge for forward/back. Maybe center tap move forward if no other obvious action.
    4) perhaps make tapping a monster repeat the last type of attack?
    5) I have slight issues with the map; sometimes it's gray even though you've been there before.

AWESOME game though, there's nothing else like it in the app store. Can't wait to see expansions or any type of competition to this developed.

  • Awesome

Since being a fan of Rpg type games I had to try this one. I totally loved it The game had a retro feel to it especially with the graphics. Had plenty of diffrent classes, spells and gear. However, I'd love to see an updaet or two in it for the following. Craft items and or spells, update the graphics and while looking back on which quest you do something that will save the whole dialogue of the current quest you are performing. Aside from all that this game was totally awesome and well worth the price paid for it. I'd recomend this to anyone interested in playing this type of game.

  • Get it.

In spite of the old school appearance and interactivity, this actually plays better than almost any RPG on the iPhone/iPod Touch (Vay was excellent, although even more retro). I like this because it is actually a challenge to play and your story actually changes based on the choices you make (from skillset to race to your actions/morality). Although excellent already, it would be nice to see three things added: #1: Customizable avatar (from camera roll instead of just the default pictures). #2: Other view options in the settings (first person view is ok, but most traditional RPGs let you see your character from above/behind). #3: Co-op Wi-Fi play (I know this is extremely hard to program and add in for developers, so I won't hold my breath, but it would be pretty cool to help each other complete quests). Kudos to the devs on this one, especially on figuring out how to allow users to listen to their own music in the background without needing to stop the built-in soundtrack and sounds, great mobile gaming experience for such a low price!

  • Great work Hungarians ;)

I am a fan of complex old skool rpg's, my all time fave is Fallout series. This is the best old skool rpg on iPhone- love what these guys have done here- this is also one of the best iPhone games if u are looking for something more involving than the puzzle and platformer games- I've spent hours now and am totally immersed. Hope to see more from these guys, this is a game worth spending cash on FYI. Let's have more games like this, more rpg themes not just magic medieval stuff, think outside like Fallout games too, more complexity in games. This is a great step toward that- classic.

  • It's about time.

Anyone who gives this game below five stars is absolutely insane. The graphics are not an issue in rating; you know well what the interface / play looks like before you buy this game. Other than that; this title is near (if not in fact) flawless. I've been looking for months for an awesome RPG / adventure game for iPod touch / iPhone, and I finally found it with The Quest. This port is done flawlessly; I can't stress this enough. Now realize; I'm a HUGE RPG gamer, from the classics like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger all the way to current MMO's (FFXI, WoW), and I have to say, based on my experience, I would recommend this game to anyone who has a knack for these kinds of titles. I have also been an avid Elder Scrolls fan in the past, and this game is almost like a carbon copy over to the iPod in terms of item synthesis / creation, combat, mechanics, quests, and everything. If you enjoyed Oblivion and Morrowind, as with all the earlier Elder Scrolls such as Daggerfall, etc., then this game is prodigal for you. Buy it. Now. Especially if your genre consists of GOOD RPGs and dungeon crawlers. The Quest is a flawless and beautiful paragon of the iPod touch's capabilities in terms of story, gameplay, and graphics. I hope to see most games follow in its path in the future.

  • Excellent RPG more than worth the price

This game is a combination of old-school Might and Magic play mechanics with an Elder Scrolls open-world quest and item system. The content in this game is unbelievable and if you like turn-based first-person RPGs, it will be more than worth the price. The main cons to the game include visuals that are a bit under-par for the iPhone/iPod Touch capabilities and combat can be a bit repetitive at the start of the game but it gets better as you advance to fighting more diverse enemies. Sound is great and comical at times with the musical score and frenchie-sounding townsmen and the diversity of the items and player customization is amazing and will keep dungeon-crawlers coming back for more. Also, most of the quests are detailed enough to interest those who want more than a hack-and-slash/item-grab game. All-in-all, a great game, and one of the few worthy of making the iPhone/iPod Touch serious competition to the DS and PSP.
