Cheating?
Had this app since back in the iPhone 4 days, and it has been fun over the years. Today, I just witnessed the computer, in spite and malace, place a wild card on top of the six that was already there, which would make it a seven, right? When my turn came, I tried to play an eight onto that same wild card, it said it needs to be a six??? The computer play is already so fast you can’t keep track of it or what cards, or how many it actually plays, but this was one single card. You are able to drag one card off the top of any pile and peak at what’s under it, no matter if it’s yours, the CPU’s or the ones played out, also not really fair. I dragged the wild card off and there was a six below it already. It already felt like the computer is a bit too good at times, and now I’m more aggravated by this app, thankfully, it’s only a few dollars.Show lessBobberWingnut
Can you make a small fix?
I tried Contact Author, but it didn’t work. Just got an iPhone 14 Plus, upgraded from an iPad Mini. In Batsford, and some other games, no matter which orientation it’s in, when I flip over a card, then try to pull it down to place it, I end up pulling down another iphone screen. When I do that, the timer resets itself to zero and starts again. If I’m very careful, and only touch the very bottom edge of the card, it will not do it. I’m old, with fat, shaking fingers. It has gotten increasingly hard to play the games. Can you possibly move the cards away from the edges of the phone? Thanks for the games. I really enjoy them whenever I can.Show lessrbhughbanks
Great “go to” time killer!
This is my most used app by far. There are so many games to try and such a variety of times to play them. Some take just a minute or two, some much longer. Some are strictly solitaire and others simulate opponents to practice with multiple player games. The only issue issue is with the latest update. Previously the motion of the cards when dealt or played was very graphic and realistic but with the last update the motion became jerky, unrealistic and hard to tell where the cards were going to or coming from. They would sometimes just appear and sometimes all at once leaving to guess “who” had played them. A quick fix and reversion to the old motion would garner an enthusiastic 5 stars.Show lessTahoeDon
Best Card App Ever and I Never Lie
I had this app practically since it first debuted and I am still using it. It has consistently performed well and offers more card games than any app I have seen. Loads of solitaire variations along with common games like hearts and spades. I mainly play Canasta, Eight Off, Cribbage and Spite and Malice but love that I can divert and pick something I have never played. I think the only common card game it is missing is Bridge but everything else is there. There are a couple of glitches- you can barely ever win at concentration and unless you draw from the far left you’ll never get to lead in cribbage. I love, love, love this app!Show lessAZKathyB
Harassing me for a review
My original review was only three stars, because the app was harassing me to leave a review. I don't know if the app is able to somehow *tell* if I've left a review or not, but it's been over a year and I haven't been asked to leave a review since then. I'm raising my review from three to FIVE starts because, during the time since I wrote the review, Apple started forcing developers to share what kinds of information the app collects, and (at least according to the developer) this app doesn't collect ANY inforamation at all. In addition, I've been using the 1Blocker firewall (which blocks apps from being able to connect to certain domains, such as analytics and tracking services) and this firewall doesn't report any attempts to connect to such services while I've been using this app. To the developer: THANK YOU for respecting peoples' privacy, by not trying to collect any data yourself, AND by not using any third-party frameworks which collect data without your knowledge.Show lessKG4ZOW
Version 10 did not improve gameplay for me
I have enjoyed this app over the years and typically rate it at 5 stars. However, the recent updates to version 10 have resulted in my dissatisfaction with how the computer plays its cards.
Specifically the computer plays are instant, no more sliding of the cards from each computer player in a game such as euchre. It is difficult to see which e-player is playing the card, you have to look at the stack of played cards on the table to see who played what. Does not feel real and requires an extra mental assessment which was not an issue with version 9.
None of the control options seem to solve this fast play issue. You should be able to choose fast or slow play with corresponding visual graphics. I wish I had Version 9 back. FYI playing on latest iOS.Show lessJbiolchini
The Card Game App to Have
Card Shark Deluxe is by far the best card game app I have ever used. I have had this app through many versions. Every update makes it better. The author is very responsive to feedback. I have emailed him a few times. He always replies and more importantly he fixes problems in a timely manner. It just keeps getting better. If you like card games this is the app to have. Recently(10/22) the author has not been as attentive to needed fixes but I still love the app.Show lessoldinfantryman
Best Solitaire and other games.
It is my most used app/game. Growing up we had a book called 150 ways to play solitaire. This brings back those old memories. If you get bored with one game you just move on to the next. Can reverse your play or start over. I don’t want to look at the statistics because I don’t want to admit to the many hours I spend playing this game. I wrote this years ago and my opinion hasn’t change. They made some recent updates and it’s even better!Show lessJud1958
Great Card Game Collection
Card Shark has always been good, but it keeps getting better all the time. Changes made keep the playing of the games more enjoyable-I'm talking small changes that make your plays easier or make the cards more accessible to play smoothly. I spend hours using it. Highly recommend it.
Ever since the latest update both Euchre and Rummy 500 no longer work. The game skips turns, plays out of turn and will not automatically go to the next turn. I don’t know if other games are also broken. What should I do to change it back on track? I really like these games and hope there is a way for it to work again.Show lessNmdlw
