## Newest reviews (15 of 65)

### 2/5 — Good concept, poor execution.

*2025-07-28, version 3.1.8*

Had used the previous version with success. Attempted to sign up with a new account on this new version of the 311 app, and unable to get past the 6-digit code confirmation. Despite entering the correct code, receiving “incorrect code” errors, even after having new codes resent.
Can’t even get signed in to use the actual app now.

### 2/5 — Trash cans

*2025-06-30, version 3.1.8*

It is nearly impossible to request different size cans… I imagine it’s because if you downgrade they make 1/2 as much money. But, there’s a section for damaged ones, just add a size change option. My word. And it’s no where online either. Have to call. The report was easy enough and I imagine would be for other things too… just please add this option.

### 2/5 — Not enough categories

*2025-05-19, version 3.0.33*

No applicable categories for some issues.

### 2/5 — All I get are errors

*2024-12-13, version 2.0.56*

Great potential. Wanted to report traffic light issues in real time, but all it says is error.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-04-06, version 2.0.3*

App is full of bugs. Will not let me log in. Just sends me back to log in screen. SA website is as bad. You’d think the city could do better since we are advertising as a tech advanced community.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2023-03-13, version 2.0.3*

This is a city that runs on “hospitality” so I guess it thinks it can take visitors money and not take heed of any problems because, hey, these people leave…haha!

That’s what the poor quality app implies.

The categories are way too few and limited. And if you have trouble expanding then at least have an “Other!”

The databases are bad too. One uses the app search to identify a park only to then ‘pin it’ and the app not know it!

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2023-01-13, version 2.0*

I thought this app was for 311, but found it is like a next door app. I’m not interested in sharing my location with anyone but 311 for city services.

### 1/5 — Crashes or freezes up more often than it works right.

*2023-01-13, version 2.0*

Freezes on the “select location” screen. At this point is is not functional at all. It freezes every time. The app worked (though very buggy) last week, but now it freezes every time.

### 1/5 — Unable to sign in.

*2023-01-13, version 2.0*

Just downloaded the new update, it says it sent a six digit code but I never received it. I cannot request a new code because it says it sent one and check my inbox. Just doesn’t work.

### 2/5 — Amazing concept, terrible upkeep

*2023-01-08, version 1.2*

This app rolled out FOUR years ago. The last update was an entire year ago. The lack of COSA’s attention to this app is bewildering. It has an insane amount of potential, and I wish I could help the developer(s).

I mainly use the 311SA application to report concerns. When choosing a category, I think it’d be far easier to have a text entry that searches the appropriate category based on keywords. I find it very difficult to find the specific category I’m looking for and sometimes log under the inappropriate category because I can’t see the correct one.

Example: Rather than clicking the “+,” selecting a category, then choosing a concern, I think it’d be far easier to type a concern and have keywords tagged. For example, I would type “stray animal,” and the “roaming/stray animal” concern would populate.

### 1/5 — 1 year later still doesn’t work.

*2022-11-29, version 1.2*

Wish I could open a ticket on this app to fix the app..

But the app doesn’t work for over a year.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-11-19, version 1.2*

The app keeps crashing but even when it’s working nothing is being done about aggressive animals running around attacking dogs in their yard like mine is

### 1/5 — Broken

*2021-10-31, version 1.2*

Broken app. Won’t actually open.

### 2/5 — 311 App San Antonio

*2021-09-21, version 1.2*

I agree with the previous reviews, app is always having issues and when I reported the problems personnel are not aware of anything. Tried reinstalling repeatedly and the same problems reoccurred! I can’t believe that in this day and age the technical issues can not get fixed!

### 1/5 — Invalid address

*2021-09-21, version 1.2*

Get invalid address no matter what I try to submit when it reaches location pin entry. Does not work unless someone can five me solution but so not see a good contact for support.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Crashes 24/7

*2026-05-15, version 3.1.20*

I have never successfully used the app without a crash

### 1/5 — Vague categories and unresponsive app

*2025-09-01, version 3.1.10*

I haven't had this app 1 day, and it's stuck on a screen as I've been trying to report a stoplight timing issue. It was cumbersome to get to the actual details of reporting, and now the app has stopped progressing forward in the program. Bleh. With a city of 3 million ppl, this app should be better programmed.

### 1/5 — Signup doesn’t work

*2025-07-03, version 3.1.8*

The process to validate a code sent via email is not working

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2025-07-03, version 3.1.8*

They say sending a4 digit code to email but it requires a 6 digit code and sends a 6 digit code. When trying it in, it says the code is wrong. Tried multiple times.

### 1/5 — Still useless

*2025-03-24, version 3.0.18*

So much wasted time filing reports that disappear once I submit. Wonder how much $$ spent on this worthless app.

### 1/5 — Cannot login with existing account

*2025-02-08, version 3.0.18*

App requires you to set up a new account. terrible

### 1/5 — Junk

*2025-02-08, version 3.0.18*

Cannot sign in with Google. Doesn’t save any of my reports to my account. Bring back the old app

### 1/5 — Incredible potential, lackluster execution

*2024-12-13, version 2.0.56*

The concept was a good one, but the categories of violations available for submission aren’t broken down enough to identify specific details. The drop down menus provide vague choices not always applicable to the violations encountered. There is no guidance in terms of instruction, application, example, expectation, or standard of criteria made available to the user. Communication with the department responsible for addressing issues with the app is poor at best, and enforcement of any horizontal consistency in violation submission is non-existent. There needs to be better communication between all city departments to include public works, graffiti abatement, CPS, SAWS, Railroad, TXDOT, and others. As it stands today, 311 will email the user and have them contact the agency or department directly because the app doesn’t have the capability of accomplishing it automatically. The current set of bugs plaguing the app seem to have overwhelmed and exposed the inability of the team to maintain and resolve issues reported by the user. In a city with a population of 1.56M inhabitants, it’s probably a good thing so few people use the app.
Dear app developer, please improve and update this app before more citizens are driven away.

### 1/5 — App is a joke!

*2024-01-19, version 2.0.56*

Downloaded the app to report a broken trash can!
App is set up like a game highlighting those that have submitted the most flags (complaints or issues). A city shouldn’t thinks it’s fun to have issues and complaints. But this app is like a challenge to see who can get the most flags in and gives you points for submitting a flag.

App has no way for the customer to submit any comments or changes to the “flag” (complaint or issue) during or after the flag. City took about about two weeks to provide an update to the issue. Issue was marked complete by City. Issue was never actually fixed the can. The app does not provide any comments or updates from the City either. It’s like they went backwards in technology from their previous app.

I would not use this app. Just call 311.

### 1/5 — What?

*2023-09-25, version 2.0.35*

TOTAL CRAP

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works now

*2024-07-01, version 2.0.56*

Tried using it in 2023, and it wouldn’t work at all for me. Tried again in 2024, and it works fine now, so they must have fixed the bug.

### 5/5 — Easy & Accessible 24/7

*2024-03-15, version 2.0.56*

App is accessible even after hours for 311 concerns. So far all reported issues have been seen, addressed, & delt with in a timely manner. Thank you to SA for providing this service.

### 5/5 — Works great and keeps the phones free

*2022-04-11, version 1.2*

Downloading it is free. User friendly. Make an impact on your community. Report issues and the city will respond. Any concerns please reach out to your council office.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2018-08-18, version 1.0.4*

This app is awesome! Can’t wait to help the city!

### 5/5 — More than an app!

*2018-08-17*

So, super cool story: Wednesday i was downtown and got to attend the launch of the 311SA app, and listen to its creators and stakeholders speak passionately about the impact it will have on the city.

That same day, as I drove home, I noticed some graffiti on a wall at my exit, so yesterday I stopped (safely) on the side of the highway on the way home and made use of the app. It took me maybe 45 seconds to submit a photo, and I was done!

Well, today, LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER, the graffiti has been painted over!

HUGE shoutout to the Cityflag guys and city services for the amazing work you’re doing for San Antonio!

### 4/5 — Awesome way to report concerns!!!!

*2020-08-01, version 1.1.2*

Works great! Posting pictures and being specific about your concerns helps the city address the issue quicker. The app can be a little glitchy sometimes but otherwise it works great and the city has addressed most of the issues or concerns I’ve brought up to them through the app.

### 3/5 — Needs basic categories

*2026-03-18, version 3.1.20*

Can we get a category for broken playground equipment? I had to file things in electrical to make a report.

And the app support button is a broken link.

### 3/5 — Getting there.

*2025-02-08, version 3.0.18*

Needs improvement. Lots of opportunity still. One glaring issue is lack of ease in movement from pages/areas. Add back button or ability to tap path or something. For incidents in map view, how about when tap map area a numbered listing of incidents in 2 mile radius automatically displays with open button next to each one and referenced number displayed on map.

### 3/5 — Limited reporting options

*2020-06-19, version 1.1.2*

It’s a handy app - but I saw a water leak and there is no option for reporting that. Seems like a miss.

### 3/5 — Good idea. Needs improvement.

*2018-09-05*

I posted a claim and it was closed within a few hours and I’m not sure why. There was no reason for the closure. Was it registered with the city? Was it a duplicate claim? I wish there was a way to better interact with the developers to give feedback.

**Developer response:** Hi Ryan,
Thank you for downloading the 311SA mobile app and providing us with your valuable feedback. We understand that your case was closed on the 311SA app with no detail regarding the closure. Currently, users are not provided with a closure reason due to limitations of the City system; however, the City is in the process of implementing this improvement. To receive more information regarding your request or to provide additional feedback, please email at 311customerservice@sanantonio.gov and provide the case reference number. This number can be found on the “Flag Detail” page for your case. Thanks!
