  • Awesome game -- totally addictive!

This is a wonderful word puzzle game that is totally addictive. I have loved it! Unfortunately, I've done all the puzzles and now have to wait for more. (Please hurry!) The quotes are good ones, and are well-chosen. There is even an explanation of the quote when the puzzle is completed correctly. I have done Double Crostics for years, and for quite some time now have felt they would be a great application for a computer -- to alleviate the tedium of transferring the letters from the clues to the quote or vice versa. You have done it! Yippee! Now do a bunch more!

  • Love this app

This is precisely the kind of game I love to play. I have to force myself to stop and make it last longer. Yes, you tun across some of the same clues a few times, but that wasn't a horrible thing. I wish there were dozens more of these apps.
  • Awesome

Please, oh goddess of puzzles, we need more. Please please please. You get us addicted and then fail to meet our needs. Must have more.
  • Favorite word game, without question

This far surpasses all other word games for itouch, iPhone, etc. Bravo.
  • TEE-RRIFIC!!!

If you like acostics you'll LOVE this app. Letters automatically transfer between the clues and the quote, letter and word hints are fast and easy, and NOT ONE glitch in the app. Only neg... I just finished the last puzzle!!! Now what??? Withdrawal is going to be excruciating. Hope a new set of puzzles is in the works. Would like a new set of 200 every few months or so.

  • Crostix 1.2

Challenging and great fun. Hope this has a sequel with additional puzzle items. It keeps me busy by the hour, and I really dread the time I finish the last puzzle in the series and have no more to look forward to.
  • An excellent idea

I enjoy crostic puzzles much more than crosswords, especially on the iPad. The computer removes the greatest drawback to crostics--the fussy work of transferring letters between the word list and the quotation.

In reducing the fussiness, the program also makes the puzzles much easier. You can quickly try out an idea in one grid to see whether letters land in sensible places in the other. I find that instead of laboring to complete one puzzle at a time, I can knock off half a dozen of these at a sitting. Unfortunately, this means that you can run out of puzzles pretty quickly.

Another difficulty is that all of the puzzles are by the same constructor, and there's a good deal of repetition--clue words and even the clues themselves appear in several puzzles. For example, you might not initially know the term for the opposite of hibernation (sleeping in the summer rather than the winter), but you'll know it soon, and what ought to be a rather difficult clue will become a gimme. This is another reason the puzzles are easy. Allowing for this effect, there isn't much difference in difficulty between the easy puzzles and the "fiendish" ones, at least if you do them in order.

It would be wonderful if the Crostix folks could get the rights to republish the work of other constructors, including some of the old classic Thomas Middleton puzzles.

  • Hooray!

I LOVE crostics, and have wanted to find a computerized version since before Apple was a company. And here it is! Yippee! The interface works just like you'd want it to, very smooth. My one tiny suggestion is to put the puzzle title in the top bar--it's one of the clues, and I have a tendency to forget it when I'm immersed in solving the word clues. I do hope you'll keep 'em coming--150 puzzles might last me a few months, but then I'll be hungry for more.

  • Nicely done!

This is an excellent implemention of the crostic puzzle. There are a good variety of puzzles, and the interface is intuitive. The screen layout and text size can be varied to suit the orientation of the iPad and the comfort of the viewer. Makes good use of the "pinch" capability to enlarge or reduce text and rearranges the screen automatically to best accommodate the new size. Great job! I hope to see more apps from this developer.

  • Perfect implementation

This is a perfect implementation of the Crostic puzzle. The user interface is intuitive, and the game really takes advantage of the iPad's screen space. There are some interesting quotes, too! Very fun!
