Still one MAJOR bug but great potential
I have been using this software for many years and like it, however there is still one MAJOR bug in the handicaps system which simply means that it won't count handicaps correctly when scoring. (and I'm not talking about the auto-handicap feature, I'm talking about a real handicap). For example my handicap is 18 which any golfer would know gives you 1 shot per hole, however GolfshotGPS gives me 20 shots per round. No matter which course you play it just doesn't count handicaps properly. Does it for every golfer you score for as well. Makes it very difficult as a scoring system but does work well as GPS. If you want it to work for scoring you basically have to keep changing peoples handicaps until it gives you the correct number of shots per round. Very frustrating. I have sent detailed feedback with screenshots to the developers months ago an they have confirmed it as a bug, but nothing seems to change. Well worth the money
Works great in New Zealand. Have never been to a course yet that wasn't included. Love the aerial view and GPS range is very accurate. It works flawlessly and is worth every cent. Thank you Golfshot!!Bwdown
This is an awesome App!!
I am really impressed with Golfshot. Very few Golf Apps I could fine had courses from New Zealand included in them. This app is so easy to use. I don't bother with paper score cards on the course anymore and may mates always pester me for distances! I find this saves me 3-4 shots a round now as I can now select the correct club from pretty much anywhere on the course. This app has been carefully thought out with convenience for the golfer in mind. This is by far my favourite iphone app and I would highly recommend it. Look no further!Show lessDougieNZ
Brilliant
Not just perfect for the small rural courses around NZ, but worldwide. I went on a trip to France and the one small 9 hole course in the middle of nowhere was instantly available. Amazing, I have no idea what features could be added everything is just fine. No bugs or crashes that I have come across yet.

[V1.5] I've had this app since it was first available in NZ. Had only 2-3 courses then, now nearly all are loaded. Vendor is VERY responsive (courses added overnight when requested) and is updating application on regular basis. GPS distances are usually very accurate and even with 3G is pretty quick. Easy to use on golf course.
[V2.2] Apps continues to be developed. Latest changes around setting up golfers and Go to hole are big pluses. Still needs facility to edit GOLFER handicaps once round starts as often you don't get the latest info before you start. Since IOS 4.x was released have had intermittent problems with GPS not working...is fixed by restarting phone...even then can be slow at times (I have a 3G/16Gb). Despite this issues this is a great app with all the supporting infrastructure. [Note (Mar2011] this is a 3G issue and despite lots of support and suggestions from Golfshot it never really worked properly after IOS 4. came out]
[V2.5] Finally got my iPhone4. The previous issues have all disappeared and the app works really well. Satellite sync takes less than a second and mostly pinpoints to the distance immediately. Display on iPhone4 very good and much clearer than on iPhone 3G. Really you need a 3GS or 4 for this to work properly. My biggest issue is the lack of ability to edit handicaps once round has started. Quite often I don't get them until we're finished the first hole or on the second tee. The ability to hook into the NZ handicap database would be great (HINT!!!)Show lessJohn DoubleU
Excellent Support
My home course was recently refurbished and some of the holes renumbered. I submitted the modified layout and distances to Golfshot and within a day the app had been updated. Great support with prompt communications. Another big plus for a great app.Hilbridan
Exceptional value and feature rich for good golf
Fantastic application, well worth the money full of features and so useful knowing the distances to each part of the green and hazards. Yep it does use up battery life but if you use it judiciously and turn off all the phone and internet connections that you dont need when you are golfing then you only use up 40 - 50% of the battery so its not a problem.
