App is slick, but features are underwhelming for 2020
Been using this since 2009, for the most part this is a great app. All features work as advertised.
But when I look around, I see other competing apps have a lot more offering for the same price (or cheaper). For example:
1. No social features - can’t even view friends’ scorecards/record unless using a PC
2. Only basic stats tracking, no option to capture more insightful data
3. No strokes gained
4. Inability to enter a (-)Negative stableford score* - Aussies club golfers playing Par format will understand me

I’ve been using this app for some time. I’ve been with it while it’s gone from a really good GPS app to a first class golf management tool. It keeps my handicap, it gives me AR views of the course, as well as flyovers of each hole. It tracks my swings, clubs, and gives me a full range of statistics. I’ve also contacted the folks at Golfshot on multiple occasions, and they couldn’t have worked harder to help me out. As I just passed 600 rounds captured on the app, it saves every one so that I can look back at rounds that I’ve played with friends. It has many other features I can’t list here, so I wouldn’t ever think of switching to another GPS app. If you’re looking for a full-feature golf management tool AND GPS app, you can’t go wrong with this one.Show lessauldguy

I love this app, I use it everyone I go golfing and find the distances accurate and the flyovers amazing on courses I’m unfamiliar with. I am by no means a professional but casually play with friends and colleagues and this app keeps me on the straight and narrow. The pro version is worth it for detailed distances on Apple Watch and club suggestion.
The only problem comes when you try to book tee times through the app there are so many courses missing it’s not even funny. For example I live in St. Andrews and cannot book any of the 7 courses there and struggle with lots in the area such as the Dukes, kingsbarns, Craig, Anstruther, Charleton or Earlsferry.Show lessgjtorrie570

I’ve used this app for years. It’s great to go back and review those rounds of years past! They have a great CS which works very hard to do whatever it is to help; and they answer quickly and never leave you hanging!!
I do wish they’d remove the course ratings at the end of every round, though. It’s a nuisance to those of us who play the same course every day!Show lessGolfallthetime

Yardage is off by 10 yards, short or long. Too bad becauae the app is good beside its one major feature. What is so wierd is that when I compare my yardage to friend's with the same app, hers is correct.612z

Golfshot only utilizes the GPS chip in your device. A lot of variables can affect your GPS quality including cell signal, age of device, etc. Unfortunately, we have no control over that. You can definitely email us for some GPS settings tips at support@golfshot.com.Golfshot Pro
I’ve had this app for years and have been totally satisfied until recently. However Recently distances have become inaccurate and most recently I’m no longer able to enter scores via my Apple Watch. This makes the app almost redundant for me. In frustration yesterday I signed up for the free week of the subscription service however this has made no difference. Not sure I’ll be continuing using this service once I have to pay.Show lessdavstr

I use Golfshot since 2010, every course (anywhere in the world I needed one) has always been in the database, with accurate information.

Best Customer Service Ever!!!
I’ll be honest, I haven’t even had a chance to use the app — I’ll write a separate review when I do. I am giving 5 stars to Golfshot for its amazing customer service! When I initially downloaded my home course to the app, I was dismayed to find that major course changes made years ago (e.g. renumbering the holes) were not reflected in the app. Additionally, the course was incorrectly identified as a 9-hole course, and only 1 set of tee boxes was given (there are 5). These errors made the app unusable at my course. I contacted customer service, but was not hopeful, thinking this would take months to get straightened out, if ever. I got an email back from Golfshot asking me to provide a picture of a current score card, and a screenshot from Google maps of an overhead view of the course, with the needed changes indicated. I sent them the images, and in less than 30 minutes they had everything updated and corrected, and I was able to see the changes in the app! That is awesome!!!! Best Golf APP I've Seen
After trying several other GPS apps I found this one to be the best and most complete I have ever seen. The one time charge is an absolute bargin. This App does everything I have seen in those hand held $300 Golf GPS devices. Many of my friends that have those have stopped using them and began using this Golfshot. One even ditched his current phone to get an iphone just for the app. I have probably used it 100 times and have never had a problem.Show lessTom109
