Not worth it
Yes, there's a full version, but if you are going for the free version, it's a waste. Of time. For school astronomy it may not be so bad as it includes good facts and a guided tour of mars hotspots.
Altogether, for people who want HD graphics were you can explore and zoom full in to the red planet, this is a poor app and really not worth it.Show lessAlntim1651317893
Great little app
I needed something portable to lookup locations while reading Robinson's Mars trilogy, this is what I needed. The guided tour is a bonus although I expected guided meant audio but its text, then click next, but still interesting and resourceful. It could use a standard search feature to go from one location to another.Show lessbalazard
Martian world tour
Even if you live to see the day when humans can readily travel to Mars, it's doubtful you'll be able to travel across the entire planet, this app is well worth the purchase price.Dave Moody

A great, free Mars atlas. I will gladly pay a buck for the HD version. My only wish is for the Curiosity rover to be added as a location; perhaps in a future update?Firefox444

Not Helpful at Scope
Lacking one critical feature: it will not show and lock Mars's orientation toward Earth at a specific time. Instead, it shows how Mars is lit, but allows the map to rotate or the time to be easily, accidentally changed.
Five stars for the armchair observer, but the developer should add telescope controls like those in his own Moon Globe. It's true that earthbound telescopes can't show much detail on Mars anyway, but it would be better if the app could help with what little we can see.Show lessBozocity

I thought this was good for a free app. The quality is good, most of the way in, looks very good on ipad2. Nice to see mars close up with some good info. Some interesting scars, craters, valleys etc.Timshepherd
