Having to move to other apps after only using this one for who knows how many years. The animation works for 12 hours on the 24 hour screen but freezes for the last 12 hours. Also, there is no way to advise you of these issues from within the app. As a hunter, fisherman and private pilot having the 24 hour animation can give me a way to plan for the next day. I cannot believe James Spann promotes this app. It is unreliable. You look at the planned weather just a day or two out and then look again the next day and the temperature jumps or it says sunny weather a day or two before only to change to rainy last minute. I am deleting this app. It is not worth the frustration anymore. Lately, I get an alert that there is rain in my location. But the app shows nothing. I check the app every morning to see what the weather is to do. No rain! Yay so I open my windows to keep the heat down. Boom.! Rain!! Bad app! I even looked yesterday and app says no rain but it was pouring down!! HeVy rain! Here it goes again! I have been happy with this app for years until now! Pease fix or will need to be finding a new app! I really don’t care what the weather was 5 days ago! ### 1/5 — App No Longer Functional *2026-04-27, version 6.1.601* As of this writing (4/27/26), app has become bricked and no longer updates. At least Fox 6 weather app gives you a few minutes to prepare while this ABC 33/40 app will get someone killed because the alerts NEVER go out before hand. And yes I have it set to alert me as well as push notifications enabled… and I thought you guys were supposed to be the “weather authority”… what a joke ### 1/5 — Radar is Nodar *2025-08-04, version 5.17.706* I appreciate James Spann and all he does for Alabama , but this app just doesn’t work right. The radar doesn’t load. I go all kind of erroneous alerts. It does load in ALFA ads… PUKE! ### 1/5 — The opening splash age… *2025-07-02, version 5.17.508* This was my go-to app for weather. Lately the radar is inaccurate and worse, it is inconsistently so if you zoom in or out. The opening Alfa Insurance page holds way too long and it re-loads if one navigates away from the app and back to it. It’s really sad because the 33/40 weather team is top-notch. It’s a shame the app represents them so poorly. ### 1/5 — Radar Scan Is Invalid *2025-06-07* After many years of trusting this weather application, I have noticed, recently, that the radar is completely erroneous. This issue has been apparent for several months, when compared to other scans from other applications. Currently, relying on this application for important weather notifications, and safety preparedness, is a foolhardy endeavor. Beware, it is dangerous to trust this weather scan! It is flat out wrong. Additionally, I am utterly astonished that James Spann, a highly reputable meteorologist, would affix his reputation to this abysmal application. Looks like I’m back to relying on The Weather Channel for reliable information. ### 1/5 — Rain *2025-05-07, version 5.17.508* Very inaccurate ### 1/5 — When seconds count… *2025-04-02* I’ve heard many times that seconds count… but far too many seconds are spent on the meteorologist picture when you first open this app… regardless if you’re opening from an alert/notification or just to browse. It’s EXTREMELY frustrating to receive a serious weather alert and then have to wait what could be CRITICAL seconds to see it because of that precious picture. Out of the 4 weather apps I use, this is the only one that has any delay when opening. It covers us when a lot of main stream broadcast overlook our area. ### 5/5 — Only weather app I trust. *2023-03-25* I have to think the low star rating is from jealous competitors. I have four weather apps on my phone. This one is consistently the most accurate. I’ve been all over the county in the last year. This app follows right along. I like that I can expand out the view and select overlay options like radar, wind, temp, storm track, etc. My only nit is that upon opening it always takes me directly to “Andover, MA” instead of the Birmingham area - I delete Andover from the list every time but the next time I open the app it takes me right back there and it’s back on my locations list. A glitch? In my iPhone’s settings I do have “(My) Precise location” selected for this app. That said, I can quickly select “Follow me” to get back to my actual location and all is fine after that. ### 5/5 — New update *2019-12-22, version 4.10.2000* So far, this app has gotten 10x better. Says there “was” an update, but it doesn’t show there “is” an update in the App Store. ### 4/5 — Great weather app *2023-09-14, version 5.11.502* My only minor gripes would be: 1) Every so often when the app updates, the four quick slots will get reset. 2) I tend to get double notifications when a watch is issued. (I think I’m getting notifications for both my saved location and the Follow Me option, despite having notifications disabled for FM.) 3) The radar loop used to let you go back several hours, now it’s just a single hour. Not a huge issue, but it was nice being able to track storm movements. ### 4/5 — Great simple weather app! *2023-08-08* Really enjoy your app. Although whenever there is a weather forecast heading on top of your main map, I can't expand the map, as the heading hides the expand feature on top left corner. I cannot view full screen of map. Can you possibly add a seperate button for Maps, or put the map expand feature on the bottom of front page map, so weather announcements can't cover it?
