  • Solid Mobile RPG

This game packs a lot of detail and interesting events/situation. It offers a welcome departure from others games in the RPG genre by having all actions depicted through unique art and thematic story telling. A great buy :)
  • Not arbitrary but realistic

I would not look at this game as arbitrary but as realistic. I understand how frustrating it can get in situations as described below, but that sense of uncertainty, of anything being possible regardless of hard numbers only adds to the games sense of realism. Anything can happen at anytime in any situation and cannot be predicted, much like real life. It allows for a much more immersive experience.

  • Completely arbitrary

Everything about this game is completely arbitrary. Send 25 weapon thanes and 150 men against 6 weapon thanes and 40 men. You lose and 30 people are taken hostage. Send half that. You win. Events pop up and outcomes are random, much like everything else you do in this game. It's mediocre at best, but a complete waste of time for anyone who likes actual strategy games

  • Brilliant

If you're not into civ builders, or awesome settings, or decade long feuds against ducks, this probably isn't a game for you. If you are in any way a fan of plot, strategy, or running at enemies with a large sword, this game is perfect. A very well made civ builder, you start with a small clan, and trade, diplomacise, and kill your way to forming a tribe and ultimately becoming a King. The sheer depth of the game is staggering, and every action can come back to haunt you, reward you, make you an enemy of every clan whose maps suddenly don't make sense, or even leave you with dinosaurs ploughing your fields. I heartily recommend this game - you won't win first time, but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

  • A truly fantastic game

This is something really different and interesting. This game will keep you interested for many hours, and is unlike just about anything else out there. It is totally worth the investment.
  • A unique gem

This is an adventure game, an RPG and a touch of strategy....all combined in an unique way. One of the best game ever across all platforms.!
  • GREAT GAME

I'm a huge fan of this game since having it on PC so long ago. I recommend buying it for sure. If your playing games for a fun, yet thoughtful challenge, then this is the game for you. It's really great to see a game that isn't just mindless drivel and explosions or gun work. This game is a refreshing change nowadays. AND it's always fun to come back to after a hiatus. The only negative I can think of is that there aren't more of these games.. Playing as trolls or beast men or dragonnewts or any of the other fantastic species would be a blast! Edit: just started again. Can't believe I've been playing this for years and only beat it once :)
Edit2: delighted to see new scenes coming to this game. The few negative reviews seem to be people that have trouble understanding written language, or not caring at all to get into the lore. (Everything you need for hero quests is readily available, part of the game is learning them, whether it's from sacrifices/blessings or other tribes).

  • Amazing

There is literally no other game like this on the App Store. It's huge, detailed, in depth, and the characters are endearing. You feel loss when one of your best advisors dies, and not many games can do that.
It's also HARD the first couple of times you play, but that makes it rewarding. Spoiler: don't agitate the dragon kin too early!

  • Storytelling and strategy at its finest

If you don't mind reading, this is one of the best strategy games I've played.
So many different stories to be found here; the lore of dragon pass is exquisite and realistic (from a mythic point of view). Thoroughly recommended.
  • Fantastic port of a classic

This is the type of game iOS games should aspire to, polished enhanced port of a classic clan sim/interactive story, chock full of lore, beautiful artwork, music and a great interface. No game is the same, and each is as engrossing as the next. The only thing I can fault is that I simply want more (and they're adding!).

No game exists like this on the iPad, and I have lost many a day in the pursuit if trying to understand the mechanics that underly this game. Two years later it still surprises and challenges my decision making and management skills. Top notch! More please! The only game to top my 150h+ played on FTL, well worth the £££! Do yourself a favour, buy it and enjoy your couch for the next few weeks!
