Response from developer
Sesotho Southern, which is spoken in South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia, borrows many words from English as well as others from Afrikaans, Zulu and Xhosa. The practice of languages taking ‘loan words’ from other languages is becoming increasingly frequent as we become a more global society. To make this app, we used two native speaking translators and another two native speaking voice artists so everything you hear is everyday speech with authentic pronunciation. We understand that, as an English speaker already, you find the presence of English loan words frustrating. Please contact support@utalk.com to discuss. Best wishes, Sarah PS It might be useful for you to know that this app is also designed to be used by speakers of a range of languages not just English.
