  • Confused!

I'll give this 5 stars due to the pedigree of the developer, but christ does it need some sort of pdf manual. I just hope that he does not reduce the price quickly as is the norm these days. I would not want to feel cheated jumping in so soon. You can see he has spent a considerable amount of time packing this full of strategy. The Red Alert devs need to see how crap their offering is compared to this. Well done John.

  • Am I missing something???

The game has a very nice look to it, and granted, the controls do take a bit of getting used to, but I'm not really seeing much depth in actual strategy in battle. All military units have about the same range, and you can't choose which unit is attacking which enemy. Therefore, battle comes down to throwing as many troops into an area as possible, and rebuilding fighters as they die, and moving fighters to your other ships that can't produce their own. That's all I'm really seeing. If I'm missing something, please enlighten me, because I was really looking forward to a deep game, but frankly I'm about to give up on it.

Uniwar has the level of depth and competition that I enjoy. That one is 5 stars easy.

  • Amazing

I love this game so much. The controls are complex but elegant and the graphics are great. The campaign is a bit short but there are 16 challenge levels and you can play the multiplayer levels with AI so there is lots of content. This is the best real-time strategy game on the iPhone, period.
  • Buy this game now

I recognised the graphics straight away, and whilst I'm usually a very reserved buyer, strongly considering all purchases in this store, I snapped this up without hesitation. Blue Attack is one of the most underated games around and this looks to be even better.

    Fantastic stuff 
  • Great Strategy Game

I am a huge fan of Blue Defense and Blue Attack, so when I saw John Kooistra's third and more complex title in the Red/Blue universe had finally been approved I instantly had to pick this up. The learning curve is definitely more steep than his previous games, which may scare away some people, but if you are a fan of strategy games you have to try this out. The controls and interface may take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of things, you'll see that this is probably the best strategy game for the iPhone right now.

  • Wow! I love this game!

This is such an impressive game. I agree with other reviewers, the learning curve is steep, but only because the game has so much depth. The challenge is part of the fun. No half-baked phone version of a game here. Very well thought out and polished. I'm not even a huge gamer... I pickec tjis up because i love the developer's other games so much...but I've gotten very into this one. Endless options and beautiful style. If you're looking for a quick game to pick up and play in a few minutes, there are thousands of other options for you out there...but if you want a well crafted game with some substance...definitely check this out.

  • Epic, smooth, beautiful

This is the first really ambitious game I've played on the iPhone, and it delivers.. the game is extremely polished, runs like butter and sounds great. The controls are well implemented, if a little hard to understand at first. There is a lot of depth that I still have to uncover, i'll be playing this for a while.

  • A delightful real-time strategy

Cat in a Box Games delivers with this new real-time strategy. The learning curve is quite steep, but once you get a handle on the controls the game drives you to fight for every inch of ground on the battlefield. I'm not normally a fan of RTS games, but this one truly kept me engaged. From the simple but engaging graphics to the deep strategy gameplay, Red Conquest! is worth every penny!
