The best social, news and info app !!!
I've been a flipper for quite a while app works smooth and has more to offer than most apps out there .i would like to request a couple of features I think would improve the experience even more . Option to automatically open pages in safari rather than going around the long way. Be able to rotate the page . Read later pages and also have read button like iOS has when u just wanna read the article this really helps on I phones as screen is 4 inches . Well done and many thanksShow lessCrytisizaaa
Nearly 5 star - but content algorithms need work
A really good, potentially 5 star app, except for the fact the algorithms seem to be hit and miss. I’ve spent well over 6 months trying to educate it through “less like this” preferences but it doesn’t seem to learn in the way I’d expect and still shows me stuff I’m not interested in. I suspect this will improve over time but at the moment, it’s a good app that could be great - if they can sort the algorithms. Also have concerns about fake news infiltrating on one or two occasions - would be interested to see how Flipboard screen these stories out and enable better reporting of fake news via the report function.Show lessJonnymc81

Thanks for the review, The nerd 75! We do offer this option. If you open up your Settings and select Quick Start, you open up the app in your preferred location. Choosing Tiles will open up the app to the tiles under the Following tab. Give that a go and let us know what you think.Need fixing
I wish flip board would bring back the bar at the top of the screen. I constantly have to exit the app to check the time or to see how much charge my battery is at. I get that you want to make a more “enriching” or more “ immersive” experience. But it’s annoying, and now with the latest update the default board is “for you” and I don’t like that. I want to see the news and what’s happening not what flip board servers have decided what I might be interested in. Use to love this app now it’s just going down hill fast.
Edit: after your response I was able to get the status bar back (after the app crashed 7 times) but it’s working now. Also the other point I was trying to make is that I don’t want the feed that you all are forcing on everyone. I don’t want/I don’t need you all (or your sever) deciding what content I want to see. I want you to just show me content and I’ll scroll through and read what I want to. Why do companies think that they get to choose and limit what we can see? Sure it’s “optimized” but really? From what I’ve seen the optimization is crap, and it doesn’t show me anything that I actually want to read anymore.Show lessmo398

Thanks for the review, mo398! To enable the status bar just go into Settings > Advanced > toggle the Status Bar switch on. Your home feed includes everything that you follow as well as any smart magazines you might have added. We want your Flipboard to be as personalized as possible. If nothing else, this app alone is worth getting an iPad for. Getting all your news in the coolest of ways makes this app useful beyond bounds. They're always adding new sources so it's always interesting. The presentation and view on the iPad is absolutely beautiful, but that's not to say its not great on my iPhone as well! I love this app!

I wrote my original reviews of Flipboard ages ago when the app first came out. I have been a supporter ever since. However, since the previous major update, it was less intuitive and less attractive to use with its large cover page cards and bulky interface. Long-time users will be happy to know that that “traditional” Flipboard viewing experience is back and beautiful as ever for iOS 11! Love it again.Show lessLogan Shepard
The Most Used App in my Library
By far exceeding, in usage time, than any other app. I use on my iPad 9.7 Pro is Flipboard. Apart from regular magazine that I subscribe to I also have over 30 personal magazines that I use to store, and make available, articles from the internet.
By channeling similar types of content pieces and co-ordinating them with regular items from appropriate English language sources, Washington Post, Guardian and others I can keep abreast of news wishing the UK and a breadth of foreign news.
In addition using the technical magazines I can keep up with scientific and technological innovations. I am a voracious reader and suggest that half of my reading material is gleaned via Flipboard...Great application that I wouldn't be without...Show lessBabyboomerboy
