All ads — very little actual content
It’s just all ads. Why would anybody use it? The interface is fun and user friendly but you don’t see the occasional ad, it’s ALL ads with the very rare and occasional article. I literally started clicking on ads looking for the copy, thinking they were articles. Nice architecture, but you’ve lost a customer and I won’t invest another minute trying this again. There’s too much great competition with readers and aggregators out there. Good luck.
UPDATE: the developers have now been in touch to offer assistance. But I don’t need assistance! I was offering feedback. I’ve finished evaluating the software. I have no more time to invest in this software as there are others that do similar and are not saturated with ads. Thanks. FURTHER UPDATE: they keep writing to me, and I don’t want to hear from them. Writing a review is not ‘reaching out for help’, it’s publishing an opinion. I didn’t realise by publishing a review, the developers might invade your private in-box and you can’t stop it or even reply — the Apple email offers you to ‘contact developer’ but it’s a link to their FAQs — this is an example, the whole scenario, of treating your customer base with contempt. I’m sorry I published a review and expected good faith behaviour from them. Developer, you do not have permission to write to me. If you have anything to say, please say it I public. And please stop saying ‘thanks for reaching out to us’ — I didn’t reach out to you. This is weird.Show lessdionysius2

I very rarely write reviews and am gutted to write this. This has been my go to app for news for a number of years. A joy to use. It’s sadly no more.
It consistently fails to open certain articles even if you choose to ‘open in Safari’ once it fails within the app. Crashes too. Updates are NOT fixing the problem or the right attention or skills are not being given to the problems.
Add to that the adverts mentioned in other reviews are now an absolute pain.
Please don’t make us report your problems, they are simple to find
and recreate, happening across a wide range of articles and in many usage conditions. Spoken as a tester of software for 20+ years I’d be genuinely embarrassed at this drop in quality of what was an exceptional product. Come on, give as back what millions of us have loved for so long. It’s a crowded market and people will start to move if you’re not quick.Show lessbart555wrc

UPDATE Feb 20
Have just tried to use this app again. The feeds are still not working properly and I am still receiving obscure news articles for small towns in the US (I live in the UK and do not care to have news about a walking trail not yet opened). The App use to be a heavily used and favourite app, but I am going to close my account.

UPDATE Aug 19: still no response from Support re the glitches and inability to download. They did respond to tell me how to set regional settings - which had always been set to the UK. It appears Flipboard support do not have the requisite skills to understand or fix problems.

I have used Flipboard for years, on a near daily basis. In the last two and half months, the app has stopped downloading 90% of my content, has become glitchy and crashes when I do use it. I reported the matter to support, after I had deleted the app and reinstalled; and I keep getting the message from support they are looking into it.
Last year there was a significant increase in content from the US; I live in the UK!! I am not interested in a new theatre, lovely as it is, opening in the Mid-West. Not sure why US content has increased, but I would love to see a filter to reduce/ eliminate content from the US and increase content from Europe and the UK. If management have decided to concentrate only on the US market, tell the users and we can take our business elsewhere.Show lessRPHerts

I have bee using and enjoying Flipboard for quite awhile now and it has been a very enjoyable source of news, information and fun stuff. They generally cover both sides of most issues with a fair look at each and a minimum of favoritism, I lean right and only occasionally feel their coverage leans left. A major accomplishment in my view.
I have dropped my rating from 5 to three because the adds have gotten out of control with full page pop ups that only disappear after several hits to the x or only after up to a minute despite repeated touches to the x. Rapid fire adds appearing immediately after the previous one is deleted and multiple links that demand subscription or sign inns to read the stories.
I still find the content worth the occasional off color discriptive adjectives uttered over adds but it is beginning to try my patience. Please tone it down a bit.Show lesswerling
Now getting spam emails
I made the mistake of sending a few stories through to my email and now I am getting marketing spam.
Just to clarify, the email address is an address I use for this purpose. The spam emails started within a few days.

Since the upgrade three days ago, I cannot download any articles. Whenever I click on an article it goes to a white screen and says it cannot download the page, suggesting that I download it via Safari. If I click on that, I get a white screen that is completely locked up and I need to shut down my iPad and uninstall the app and try again.
This is a shame, because I loved the app until this happened. Help!

I love Flipboard, however lately I find a number of articles wont open on my iPad Pro. I keep getting “ not found 404” why is this?janbok

Update: After using the Apple News app for 2 days, I’ve realised it’s now way better than Flipboard. Bye bye Flipboard. I suggest others try Apple News as an alternative for themselves. I was a loyal Flipboard user for years, but they’ve really let us down.
Have had this app on my phone for as long as I can remember and it used to be fab. I remember the arrival of Apple News as a rival and Flipboard easily dispatched them. I was particularly impressed at the app’s ability to learn what stories I liked and serve up more of these. Now however it’s like I’m seeing the newsfeed of someone else, completely irrelevant stuff. Yea, the ads are annoying like others say, but for me it’s the app serving up rubbish articles I’m just not interested in that may well see this app in the recycle bin. Don’t really like how the same Ad repeats and looks like a news article every 20 or 30 flips. Advertising needs to be more clearly identified as such. I don’t like sneaky Ads. Starting to become dated..Absolutely love the update having a month to make magazines is just divine. Staying at 4⭐️ stars still miss Still an sore - my primary flipboard screen. Begging and Pleading - Please, please, please bring back the old Flipboard screen somewhere inside the app.
I love the extra stuff but if there could just be an option to have it on the bottom of the menu? I want to click the app and have big and little pictures flip down animation for new stories. This isn't rocket science, I'll pay to have the feature back. Why change something that's not broken? Please Flipboard!!
New Flipboard 4⭐️ - This is by far my favorite app but this new update is disappointing with removing the primary page. I've been with you since iPad 1 and the best day ever was when it hit the iPhone. What is this? It's less flippy, now I have all of this useless extra white on the top of my dashboard stating "following" instead of a gorgeous layout that took over the entire screen.
