  • It's fun. It's ok.

My first thing is to say is that there is no in game high score comparison system. You have to use open finet (however u spell it) it would be nice to see the high score along with the score you just earned. so minus one star for that. Also, anyone who uses GarageBand knows that the music is just receptive loops of pre-recorded music. Not very creative on that part. It's also sort of annoying to hear the same thing over and over. So minus another star. The positive side is that it's just fun to play and you can change the color. Overall, I say it's really only for killing time. I have seen better apps that where free. So for the price, 3 out of 5 stars. Keep the updates coming! Change the music and I might change my rating. :)

  • Simple and fun

Awesome graphics. I like retro gaming music... it is called "Retro Revolution" for a reason people. Sensitivity it dead on. At first I was looking for a user guide or manual and didn't find one, so I had to teach myself. It took about 30 seconds to figure it out, but a quick little user guide would be helpful to refer too especially for a very first timer: how to score and how to maneuver. Still tho 5 stars nice job guys keeping this iPhone user cheaply entertained and competitive. I referred friends :)

  • Almost great

This game is pretty good overall, but could really have some additions to make it great.
-change the audio PLEASE!!! It's annoying to hear the same 5 second phrase put on an endless loop, gets repetitive quick
-add an option to change the starting speed. The game gets really entertaining when you reach high speeds, but when you crash and have to start back at the slow speed, it really wants to make you put the game down.
    Add more shapes
Overall it's a pretty good game, but the audio as well as starting at a slow speed can make it boring compared to other games. Great for a free game, probably worth a dollar at most.

  • Good idea, terrible music, gets boring

This game has a good concept taking something that a lot of us loved as a kid and putting it into a different type of game. That's really cool. It has two modes classic and flight which allow you to either stick to the walls in classic or flry free in flight. It has openfeint support which is nice, but the sound gets annoying really fast. I understand it's trying to mimic 8 bit video games from the past, but it's way to repetitive and more annoying than catchy. They should add support to play ipod music and should generate the blocks based on the timing of the music, that would be really cool! This is a good game for free, but I wouldn't consider paying for it unless they added lots of improvements like multiplayer, powerups, better music, play ipod music...

  • A few issues.....

The main problem with the game isn't its Classic mode; the controls work well enough and the option of changing the colors and the overall difficulty when you start to get a high score stop it from becoming boring. On the contrary, it's the Flight mode the bothers me most. In the Flight mode, you are forced to tilt the entire screen to control all of the movements rather than just a tilt to the side to move. When the controls are not sensative enough or (in this case) too sensetive, it become more of a waste of space rather than a nice a addition to a quick pick-up-and-play game. It would be nice to see an update to an alternative control system with the option of the tilt and, let's just say, dragging your finger along the screen. Keep up the good work!

  • Wow! The new best minute time burner!

I'm really surprised by how much I like this game. It's darn simple play, with great use of the accelerometer.

Classic mode is a fun tilt left or right to rotate the tunnel and pass the obstacles - great for that quick "pick up and play" challenge that means Retro Revolution might replace Doodle Jump as my "Waiting Room" game of choice.

Flight is ingenious - a full use of all accelerometer directions to move freely through the space of the tunnel and avoid objects in space, not just along the wall. It's a great change-up to bring variety to this game, and offers a superior challenge for those not afraid to use a fuller range of motion (i.e., when not in a crowded public area).

Graphically, the game is as promised - crisp "retro" styling that generates promptly and crisply on my iPod Touch 2nd Gen. THe game also loads nearly instantly, so there's no time wasting waiting for it to load, and no hiccups during actual play. There's a simple color customization that keeps the game engaging.

The only thing I'd change would be an indicator of sorts that allows me to "aim" better in flight mode. I'd pay an in-app fee for the option to add "Branching" tunnels for that extra dimension of challenge.

  • Cheers to developer!

First I’d like to state, that my 5th star is for the support of this young man, who programmed the game all by himself, who does continuous polishing, updating, improving the game, and does it really good.

RR has most of the parts done right: polished retro-feel smooth 3D graphics, captivating gameplay offering two game modes, simple and responsive controls, OpenFeint integration. It allows to play your own music in background by just having it playing when you enter the game, which is in my opinion is an elegant way to do it.

The areas of improvement are in-game music/sound, overall style polish, and in-game help system. Some gameplay enhancements could well be in place, like modifiers to your speed, color change ‘orbs’ might affect the scoring, etc.

But given the passion and high enthusiasm of the developer, I’m sure all of that and even more will eventually find its way into the game. My rating is 4 stars for solid, catchy game, and 1 extra star as I said in the beginning as a token of appreciation for the talent and effort of the developer.

    Please keep up good work!

  • Fantastic!!!

This game is great fun. The graphics are perfect for what the game is. Everything runs silky smooth and the controls are tight. The game starts out slow and easy but before you know it you are flying down the tunnel at blazing speeds and the challenge really ramps up. The only thing I would improve on is the music. While it fits fine the one song is way too short and you can hear when it loops.

  • Well executed, simple

A solid entry in the vertigo-inducing 'tunnel run' genre, this simple game can occupy a large chunk of your time. With only two play modes, that give you different methods of controls (classic sees you hugging the outside wall, tilting to steer, while flight gives you four axis tilt control and you are no longer confined to rolling around the outside wall). Both modes are of the endless, randomly-generated variety, so not a lot of variety in the approach.

Despite this simplicity, or maybe because of it, the game has a great hook that pulls you back for one more time.

The game is not without its flaws, however. While the techno-style music seems fitting, there's only the one track, and it gets rather repetitive. The music often experiences gaps as it loops, which are distracting. The music isn't too much of an issue, though, because Retro Revolution gets something else right: when launching the game while listening to your own music, the game rightfully lets you continue listening. The graphics are effective, though there is an occasional texture flicker. The difficulty curve is not sharp enough for my tastes, taking too long before ramping up the challenge. I'd like to have an easier to read progress indicator, perhaps popping up milestone announcements to help you keep track without taking your eyes off the "tube."

Overall, the game strikes a nice balance of simplicity and replayability, and is a game you can enjoy for what it is, and what it is not.

  • Rocks 2 the core!!

This is same look but much different than boost 3d. In some ways it is even better. Controls very well and is an awesome tunnel game!!! Definitely not an imitation of anything, this game rocks!!!! To say this is a copy of Boost 3d is pure ignorant!

My opinion, they are different games of the same classification and if you like either than you must have the other! Not many cool games like this going around, so buy today!!!
