This saved my phone
Someone stole my phone and was stupid enough not to turn it off, so it continued to have an Internet connection. I was able to send police out to the vicinity, who questioned people, which caused someone to get scared and throw the phone away. We were able to locate where it was dumped and get it back with 3% battery life remaining. My only gripe is that Apple haven't made a function whereby it is impossible to turn the phone off in Lost Mode, but in my case I got lucky. This saved me hundreds, I can't rate it highly enough.Show lessGorro103
Time for Apple to resolve
This used to be very accurate, and a very useful tool for purposes of tracking your 'missing' iphone or Apple device etc- now the resolution and accuracy are so bad, you would have no chance of tracing a big bus, let alone a small phone. Since ios6, without Google, I have yet to see accuracy anywhere near 100ft, and often it is out by over 500ft. That is totally unacceptable in this day and age - please get this sorted Apple in a hurry, or hand it over to those who can do a better job of mapping/satellite imagery. If I had a choice again, I would not have upgraded from ios5.Show lessNot a happy chappy lol
Great App
Why is it an great app? Because it finds your missing device extremely fast. It has great tools like send message to your missing device, send sound to the device and lock the device remotely. I found my iPad by just logging into iCloud from my computer.

Amazing
Works perfect I own a iphone3GS and a iphone4. Installed app on both activated cloud on both. Very easy set up. Opens app and bingo could find both phones from both phones. Address was accurate hybrid view showed exact house I'm sitting in. Sent message to both and locked both from both. Excellent app great tool.Show lessbtheucgud
Police found iPAD through this APP
Downloaded the APP maybe 6 weeks ago, when we had a home invasion and my husband's iPHONE was stolen...app didn't help much in this case, but we think that's because they were professional burglars, and they'd removed the SIM card so it wouldn't give us a location.
BUT....last night my husband's iPAD was stolen from his work office, and we literally tracked the culprit travelling away from his work place to his home...stopped in at the Police Station, and they tracked it on one of their iPHONES, and make a successful arrest and recovery of the item.
I WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT THIS....just as good as insurance me thinks....!Show lessGayle Lafaialii
Yeah
yeah its good cause you can lock it and stuff but the promblem is that the device has to be connected to the internet and be turned on. - hopefully thats the next upgrade their doing that we can be able to force the ipod/ipad to be on and receiving if we misplace it. Must Have
Has located both iphone and ipad a number of times. Mentioned in NZ paper today after two separate people had items stolen and they were able to lead police to location. Were even able to see on Google street view the house it was located. Great stuffSteve70

However it would be good if you could still locate the iPhone/iPad when the sim card has been removed (if that is possible) Also another great feature would be for the Find My iPhone app to require the Apple ID password to delete it off the device, so someone who steals it and knows what they're doing cannot delete it themselves unless they have the passwordShow lessjimmyryan
Use with free MobileMe account
This is an awesome app now Apple have made the tracking part of MobileMe free. I’ve set up Find My iPhone using my new iPad, and because I own one new device I could then add tracking to my older iPhone 3GS, also for free.
A device can be tracked either from another device using Find My iPhone or through the MobileMe website.
Find My iPhone does use a bit of cellular data—presumably it’s checking in at regular intervals and doesn’t bother to wake up Wi-Fi on my 3GS. Unsubstantiated traffic is ≈0.5 ㎆ / day.Show lessbarefootguru

Great app from Apple. My wife and I both have iPhones and when either of us misplace our phone this app has worked perfectly to locate it. Someone said it's no use if you don't have your phone but if there are multiple Apple devices in your family (we have two iPhones and and iPad) it's perfect for locating the other devices. It's a bit buggy sometimes in that I have to exit the map and go back in after it says the phone is found hence only 4 stars.Show lessSigelnz1
